Man you know how to make things fun and make learning feel relaxed. Thanks for making these. I'm a beginner and you give me hope for one day being really good. You're a joy to watch.
you got me back into harmonica after years of not playing! i used to play a very simple style, breath in and out and using my tongue. i never really knew the blues style or how to do it and now it’s all i’ve been playing! i keep a harmonica in my vehicle to play while on the road ❤
Just discovered you and you are a great teacher. I play harp in a blues band in the UK and follow several harmonica teachers on here but love your style and personality. Especially the story how you got into playing from, watching an advert on TV, it’s inspiring.
I ordered 2 C's & 2 A's from Juzzie Smith & these are the best I've played. I'm new at the harmonica & these made me sound professional instantly. Just Superb. Absolutely Superb!
Love your stuff. I love Sonny Terry but a lot of blues isn't really my thing. Your style of playing is so inspirational and full of life. Real nice change of pace from all the cross harp and 12 bar blues when first learning. Great to see the instrument being used for other styles of playing
Thank you, I love music but it doesn't love me doesn't come natural, loved your ‘EXTRA GROOVY’ HARMONICA JAM and watched over and over to try to figure the notes, this is much appreciated, keep me out of trouble this weekend practicing
Loved these licks, sir! To expand a bit, 7 is a nice cap on the -6 like every 8 bars or so. Also, 1 -1 is an octave down from 4 -4, which sounds cool between the main riffs.
Juzzie you are an absolute legend in my eyes mate. To be totally honest with you I've never really been into Blues music or any instrument other than the guitar I started playing when I was 9 and stopped when I discovered beer and kebabs (18 or 19) 😅. Anyway back to you and your inspirational videos, I came across the one with you teaching the 3 grooves and after watching it, I genuinely went on Amazon and bought a harmonica and even paid for next day delivery 😂😂😂. I'm sending The Long Haired General (my wife) round the bend. She has even had the cheek to compare my practicing to a cat walking round on a hot roof and I keep reminding her that she sounds like that to me when she starts nagging. You are a really cool guy and I'm definitely going to keep up the practising and hopefully I'll be able to jam with some friends of mine who are in a band or 2. Keep them coming mate. Cheers mate.
This is great I've been waiting for someone like you to come around man I've been playing harmonica for since I was a kid and I never really had a lesson I play pretty good down but you show me little things that I didn't know it's fantastic man
Merry Christmas brother, I promise you people around here will either thank you or cuss you cause a close friend got me a new harmonica for my birthday/Christmas and I'm focusing on it, you,AND the beer. For some reason I have better rythm drinking 🙄.Thank you for making these videos
Good stuff here, I get my new Harm tomorrow night, my first actually wanted to play guitar but think I’ll see if I can get the hang of this cool portable instrument! I think I’m understanding how bending is done, wouldn’t it be better to call it “blend” however or blending? Or maybe I’m missing something? 🤔
I bought my second harmonica a month ago. (The first one 35 years ago, but didn't learn anything). I've found myself a handful of very good teachers on YT. You're on the A- list of course. But do you know what differentiates you from the others (your competitive advantage they would say in marketing)? Pleasure! Right off the batt, you give the absolute beginner permission to get pleasure from his learning. And that's a great experience. Thanks. Jef
