I’m very happy to sit by the fireplace and candles throughout with a good book not to forget a glass of champagne. I’m grateful not having to be a caregiver any longer and I’m free as a bird.
I can empathize with how great a burden being a care giver is and am glad you are enjoying your freedom. Hooray for good books and thank you for the bible who taught us to read
First Christmas alone and after a few weeks of feeling lost and sad now on Christmas Eve, I'm really looking forward to the day. As a single older woman, no children it is finally going to be the day of peace. No walking on eggshells , no verbal abuse from my brother, no pretense and coming home feeling disconnected from what's left of our family. Love , peace and joy to all of the Sixty n Me community. ❤️
Rachel, I can relate. Sister make it a beautiful experience no matter...begin a new tradition...it will stick and give yourself the gift of longevity.. Many upon many blessings...love from Canada 🇨🇦 xx oo
I think there can be a level of shame about being alone for Christmas, as people tend to feel sorry for you. Here are some things I do that make a hard day easier. 1. I get up early and wash my sheets, hang them outside even though I'm in Wisconsin, and have lovely smelling sheets to look forward to. 2. I go for a walk as soon as the sun rises. This is good for my mood and makes me feel like I've accomplished something! 3. I order a few items for myself and open the packing boxes on Christmas day. I don't spend a lot of money ... it is usually just a book or some new kind of lotion, 4. I go to our nicest grocery store on December 24 and buy a small amount of prepared food. I can't eat sweets, so I keep it healthy, maybe treating myself to some shrimp. 5. My father and I use to go out for Chinese food on Christmas day. We could always find an open restaurant for an affordable meal. 6. I may go to a movie theater to watch a new release movie. I go to a nice theater in the next town to make it an outing. 7. I am an American woman who loves NBA basketball. There are games on all day long that don't require paid TV, so that is a treat for me. 8. I may take a nap, have a long hot bath or go to bed early. Have a restful day. 9. I try to remember that spending Christmas with others is not always fun either. Hurt feelings about gifts, relatives who drink too much, overeating unhealthy foods, and overspending are realities of Christmas pasts. Keep it in perspective!
Thank you for this. This is my first Xmas alone. I lost both parents this year and have absolutely no family. Divorced, no kids, no aunts/uncles/cousins. I’m the last of both family lines. Grieving for my parents and missing the love and family traditions we shared. But the hardest is knowing I am completely alone in the world. I’m in tears every day and not coping well. But I just found your videos and am thankful to hear someone addressing the loneliness that is even worse during the holidays.
I am so sorry for the loss of both of your parents and for your feelings of aloneness. I am thinking about you on this Christmas evening and wishing you the best in the New Year.
Also realize many others are living the same sort of experience so you are not really alone. Go out among people even if just to have a coffee out. Just try to enjoy the moment and watching people about their business. Treat yourself to a gift it does not have to be expensive, a book you might want to read etc.. If you have a friend go ahead and give them a call wish them a merry Xmas and chat for awhile. Watch a good movie. If you do not have a pet in your life consider one, they can bring a lot of unconditional love and companionship to your life. Treasure the memories of your loved ones and the joyful times, but remember they want you happy not grieving.
I am so very sorry for the loss of your parents. I just lost my dad and this is my first Christmas without him. I know you are hurting but know there are others thinking of you.
As long as my adult children are safe & generally happy, Christmas is just another day for me. I get to work as a valet & enjoy other people. Coming home to a quiet home is quite lovely. Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to All- 🎄🎅❤️
You 're definitely NOT alone. YOU matter!!! Consider adopting a pet from a local rescue/shelter if possible." They" are truly alone & forgotten and you will find a lifetime of unconditional love &joy .Merry Christmas, from this wonderful family .Lots of love!!!
Margaret you are an amazing person! I have a husband, better i live by my self ! nothing in common. But, i have the baby in the manger. That’s all I need. i never feel lonely. Bless you !!! ,
I have lived alone in an isolated cabin for twenty years. I think of others when I want to feel connected. There are nearly 9 billion people around me, many suffering dire circumstances. I appreciate so much the simple things in my life. If I can emanate peace and love to the world, that is enough. It is not about ME, it is about us all. Share, move out of oneself and send your best thoughts out to all. Enjoy and appreciate and remember you are a member of an immense community. Solitude can be lovely, Christmas is just a day on the calendar,.Celebrate every day you have the great honor to exist.
I agree. I live alone out in the country overlooking a lake, and have been a widow for 21 years. I've always prefered being alone, No kids (we chose not to have any) and I am actually glad not to go to large family gatherings anymore. They were always exhausting. But now, days will get longer and Im happy about that. Im healthy, well off, and at alnost 74, greatful for all of that!
I just turned 74. My cabin is up at 3,400 feet, in WA State, snow on the ground 5 months of the year, there's a huge wild pond nearby, I am almost surrounded by woods with fields out front that fill up with wildflowers in the summer. I have only one visible neighbor, all others are a mile or so away. I have peace and privacy and endless wildlife to enjoy. I have enough of the necessities, a small handfull of good friends, and many more reasons to be content and feeling appreciative. Thank you for telling me a little about yourself, and sharing the experience of healthy happy solitude.@@2MuchPurple
Thank you Margaret, this is a very timely message for me as it’s the 20th anniversary of the breakdown of my relationship with my daughter & our estrangement that has been lasting. Usually I spend Christmas with my BFF & her kids but they have different plans this year so I’m on my own. I have planned a nice Christmas brunch for myself & a walk around my neighborhood later in the day to take photos in the beautiful winter light. Thank you for reminding me how to create some “comfort & joy” for myself. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! ✨🎄✨
Home Alone and Home Alone 2, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, A Child's Christmas in Wales, The Holiday, A Christmas Story, Holiday Inn, White Christmas, A Christmas Carol and It's A Wonderful Life are movies I watch every year. Be good to yourselves and Merry Christmas to everyone.
I too, am alone this Christmas for the first time, my mother having died on Christmas day last year. While it is tough, all of the beautiful memories of caregiving for her for 10 years and the wonderful life she created for me will keep me counting my blessings this Christmas. One of my favorite movies that always makes me laugh out loud is ‘The Holiday’ with Jude Law. Such a very sweet movie that always makes me cry too! It is a real winner. Thank you, Margaret, for always giving suggestions that are so very needed, especially this time of year. God bless you and have a wonderful holiday.
Ten years since we last my mum whom we loved so dearly. Her dentures were loose fitting, so she would take them out to answer the phone. We smile at her photo which bears the caption 'Kath hears better without her teeth!". Enjoy fond memories, may your future be blessed❤
First get busy and help others at this time of year - visit a seniors residence or community kitchen or help a family in need - there’s absolutely no reason to be feeling lonely at this time of year - appreciate what you do have
Looking forward to this episode.. as I will be alone as well. Plus heavenly company in spirit. Christmas Blessings to you dear lady. Thankyou sincerely for all you do and the pleasure of your company 🎄🌏💜
While I'm not alone, this year will be a quieter holiday than we usually have with family. No worries, I enjoy the quiet and having a more adult Christmas equally to being around our many grand nieces and nephews, a noisy, playful fun bunch of kids. But Margaret, I'm struck by how much I appreciate YOU after watching this video, now and throughout the year. You are a treasure of a human being! Your support, intelligence, networking, empathy, beauty of soul, spirit of fun and exploration, the list of qualities that you share with us is long. Sending much love and thanks for all you do in bringing us Sixty and Me! From north central Minnesota in the U.S., all the best in the new year!
Thank you Margaret for your beautiful message and to those of you who posted too. So many great messages from many of you ❤❤❤❤ Wishing all of you a blessed holiday season whether you are with family or by yourself! I'm so happy I found this community of women ❤
Lots of great suggestions. Being creative and decorating your home the way you want it, it doesn't have to be every room. It is actually quite nice to have the Christmas tree the way you want it after years of having to compromise or in some cases not have a say at all. I like to get out in nature and pick some holly, greenery and decorate the mantelpiece and incorporate some festive decorations. I feel a sense of achievement that I created some unique. I also take photos of my efforts and use of screen savers. I also like to put up some soothing lights that cheer me up, candles spotted around can also create an atmosphere, or perhaps a sented candle that particularly resonates for example lavender which can enhance mood, or a scented candle that represents xmas for you like cinnamon which fills the home with a xmas scent. This again creates a nice atmosphere and can lift your spirits.
Haven’t had a ‘full on’ Christmas for many years since the family passed away. I spent them with my cherished mum and our much loved cat and that was good - we were with who we wanted to be and a quiet time was welcome. This year I lost both my mum and my cat and will be alone for the first time ever. Mum died first at the end of June and I am still struggling to cope without her and my Kati cat. I have fond memories of family Christmases but I want to try and stay as unemotional as I can. I miss everyone every day of the year and I couldn’t cope with an “I remember when” mindset on the day. Thoughts just come unbidden and I have to try to flow with them but easier said than done. Your idea of having lots of goodies around is the best advice, especially welcome because I feel less guilty of indulging. I have an order delivered every couple of weeks and I have a selection of things to tempt me! I take a lot of meds so mustn’t drink alcohol which is a shame because I like Baileys liqueur. However, this year they are selling extra thick double cream with Baileys which I shall have with mince pies and not worry about the calories! I’m afraid I do tend to comfort eat but I try to be careful most of the time. But we all need something to help us get through. Thank you Margaret for your inspirational video it really helps to know we are not alone. I hope everyone reading this manages to indulge in a few pleasures - we deserve it😊❤
I love putting on Christmas music and movies. Decorate my house to the max. Set a beautiful table, cook a great meal or do a Holiday take-out meal and have my neighbor over.
Hi Margaret! I have never been a huge fan of Christmas, but there are a few things I've done that helped me get through it. I've been alone at this time for years now, and it doesnt bother me much anymore. These things helped: Cutting way down on TV watching, of all kinds. Ive seen all the old movies, and dont need to see them again this year. Maybe next . Decorating my living room in colors and themes that resonate. There is a general cat theme here, but do whatever appeals to you. Being thankful, and reminding myself that the short dark cold days will start getting longer now. For someone with s.a.d., like me, this is major. Savor a few memories, if they are pleasant, and even if not I remind myself that they are past and gone, and wont come back. And, knowing one has made it through another year, basically healthy and intact. At almost 74, I'm thankful for that. Merry Christmas!
So happy to be alone this Christmas. I've turned down 4 invitations and feel really empowered at having done so. I have plenty of party type nibble food, my favourite drinks, lots of DVDs, candles, and am looking forward to a quiet "me" day. I will go out to feed my horses, spend some time with them, and the rest of the day indoors and pamper myself. I've already had 3 turkey dinners out with friends so a selection of hot nibbles will do me just fine throughout the day. Merry Christmas everyone!
You are so sweet, Margaret. I’m not alone, but I like your ideas. I think I would seek out a friend who is also alone and plan a trip to a place neither of us has been. I wouldn’t want to focus on past Xmases with loved ones gone or unavailable but focus on a new adventure. ❤
I am sooo happy with my pets. For me it's another day. Here in Argentina is very hot, so I stay home hugging my dogs because a lot of stupid people use fireworks sending all pets into panic. I am sooo happy on January the 2nd. on.
So important Margaret. This is why I offer handwritten notes to folks daily. Your life matters and you;re loved even if you're by yourself .If you feel lovely , if possible , adopt a lonely forgotten pet in a shelter .They live behind fences hoping for pure love. They will love you unconditionally forever!!! Go look at holiday lights (on foot or drive) with your favorite beverage& play your fav music. Love the old fashioned movies Bishops Wife, It happened on 5th ave or more recent and funny...The Holiday!! Most of all each of you is loved ,YOU matter!!! A joyful Christmas full of wonder to the "Sixty & me" fam!!!
Hi Susan, I watched the apartment in Radio City Music Hall when it first came out. I was pretty young so I didn’t get all of the subtle adult jokes. Thank you for making me remember that movie. Happy holidays.
I have a family but am an introvert. Enjoy the peace and quiet everyone! Everyone’s circumstances are desirable if you think about it. Take care and God bless. ❤
Merry Christmas from Australia Margaret 🎅🎄 This is the 2nd Christmas on my own since I lost my husband, but I enjoy my own company & have my beautiful 10 year old Jack Russell who’s been with me through everything. He’s my shadow & follows my every move. I’ll cook a meal & I love reading & watching Christmas movies on TV, & can fill the day in very easily.. Thankyou Margaret for your kindness & wonderful videos which I love watching. And I wish you & all your viewers a lovely Christmas….🎁♥️
I love the old The Bishop’s Wife with Cary Grant, A Christmas Carol, Love Actually, A Christmas Story are my favourite Christmas movies. I buy a Yule Log, put up my tree with the Christmas village underneath. You are a real treasure Margaret! Have yourself a very Merry Christmas!🎄
Every year I watch The Family Stone (with Diane Keaton and Sarah Jessica Parker), Love Actually and the original Grinch Cartoon from the 1960's. It isn't Christmas without those movies to me. In addition to meditation I also drink hot green tree outside while watching the sunrise over the water. It helps me get in touch with the rhythm of nature and life. Between Christmas and New Year's Eve I spend time journaling about my plans for the coming year. Each year I collect daily gratitudes on small slips of paper. I keep in a glass jar. As the year ends I read them and prepare the container for the coming year. You can use different colored paper. Put lights in or under the vessel. I change each year to make it special. I reach out to all my loved ones by text. Everyone appreciates knowing someone thought of them. Happy Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year ahead.
Christmas Greetings from Australia. I started watching Christmas movies last night and by Christmas night I think I would had enough. lol. I love The Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Sure, it's dark but has such a strong message. My grandson and I have watched Home Alone every year in the past. A friend gave me a huge home made Christmas cake and I have munched my way through half of it over the last 6 weeks. A friend and I exchanged Christmas presents in the post so I will open hers on Christmas morning. I know at least 3 other people who will be on their own and some distance from me. I will give them a ring and have a chat and a laugh. It will be a good day.
No awkward conversations, no invasive questions, no screaming, no shame, no shouting, no biases, nothing. Just me, my dog, baking supplies, hot chocolate, novels, and Christmas movies ❤🎉
I spent last christmas 2023 on my own, as i had some sort of flu virus. I was not well enough to spend christmas with any one. However, at least i had my four guinea pigs who are such great little characters. They live in their accomodations in my living room. They always remind me when it's their vegetable time to eat, with their sweet little squeaks!!!
OMG yes Grace & Frankie is a definite natural anti-depressant for sure they make me laugh so hard I sometimes scare my cat Im so loud! LOL and of course watching it eating your favorite foods or favorite traditional foods you dont make or get to eat often times times its Bliss I tell you! Merry Blessed Christmas everyone and a Blessed and healthy New Year!❤
I aways buy myself something luxury that I would normally never buy. But i cannot use it until Christmas day. I get some goodies to eats and go to mass,
I do the same, and I unexpectedly got invited to Christmas service with a friend and it was even a candlelight service and singing songs lighting each other’s candles
Thank you Margaret! After being part of a large LOUD family - Christmas is different. My boys are grown and have families of their own. I am looking at it as my transitional Christmas. I do get together with the family on Christmas Eve, so I do see them and get hugs and food! Christmas day is different and while I have moments of melancholy, it is getting better with time. A new Christmas movie I found is called "Last Christmas" with Emilia Clark & Emma Thompson - it has a twist, but it was very good. Thanks again for all your inspiration!
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Margaret. Like you, I have reminisced about the happiest Christmas moments from the past. This Christmas has been an unexpected gift of peace for me personally. For that I am thankful.
Thank you, Margaret. These ideas are such good ones. I am sitting here alone on Christmas Day and send best wishes to you and to everyone in your community. You do such good in the world. One of my favorite holiday movies is an old one: Miracle on 34th Street. Judy from Raleigh, NC
Thank you Margaret. You're right, it's a difficult time. I tried to tell myself that it's only 1 day No not different than any other day. I think there's a lot to be said for creating your own traditions. 1 thing I do is every Christmas I take the dog for a hike. Peaceful peaceful out and that helps.
Merry Christmas Margaret! You are so good at articulating your words and feelings to help us view this part of our lives with love and respect for ourselves and others. I am one of your "older sisters" still navigating new adventures and finding ways to do more self-care, stay positive and spread joy into the world. While there are challenges to work through, there is also a lot of freedom to just be myself, enjoy solitude, peace and joy! It helps emensly to know we are on this journey together! Thank you for being such a wonderful connecting force. We need that. Love and peace to all of you! 💞
Thank you Margaret 😊 I needed to hear your words of positivity today. I have a difficult ‘joyful’ season ahead. A very Merry Christmas to you & yours 🎄🇦🇺
I lost my mom 22 years ago. Christmas and Thanksgiving have never felt the same. I miss when we used to go to my grandparents and everyone would bring a dish. We have to keep living and start our on Traditions. I hope you have a Merry Christmas 🎄and a Happy New Year 🎉❤
Hi there! I LOVE the movie Amelie! It is not well-known here in the states. Some of my other favorites are "A Christmas Carol," "Miracle On 34th Street," "March Of The Wooden Soldiers" & "It's A Wonderful Life." I am alone (with my dog) for the first time in my life as of this past June. It has been a challenge, but the love of friends & family and inspiration from people like you has been a HUGE help! Merry Christmas and thank you for this video.🤗🎄🎁
Thank you for your warmth and inspiration Margaret. I love the thought of creating new traditions and am going to think how I can do that. I didn't feel like decorating this year but I did treat myself to a beautiful red tablecloth embroidered with holly leaves and I shall enjoy dining in style! I am going to do whatever I feel like doing, and will definitely go for a quiet stroll and enjoy a mindful walk ❤. And feel privileged I have a home, good food and lots of interest in life. Xxx
Thank you for the support you provide. Your suggestions you share are heartfelt and do-able. It's a challenge to be in the present and remain positive; a challenge I'm ready and willing to take on. I know I can get through this. Thanks so much. 🇨🇦
I like to watch as many versions of Christmas carol that I can. I love the quiet between Christmas and New Year, a good time to visit the national museums in London as they are quieter. I’m actually visiting my brother this year, but I’m usually on my mind.
Merry christmas Margaret and all who are reading this! Sometimes we just have to make the most of the holidays and look forward to a new year and a new journey. I have my books, my art, my home and my family to be grateful for. But without meditation I'd be a wreck. It helps me stay balanced and calm. I listen to a lovely voice that helps me heal and sleep. Wishing all the best for 2024. Thank you Margaret. Big hugs! ❤
My sister likes to do Christmas brunch for immediate family. This year I actually made cards and sent them out….i’m learning watercolor, it’s so fun learning something different. I live alone with two cats and aquarium fish. Now I’ve tried to knit, not so good at that but hey Mrs. Obama learned over the pandemic! I usually make gingerbread for the season and I like to share with others. I even put a gingerbread man in my mailbox for the postal worker! Hobbies are great to tap into… 2 movies that come to mind are “Bookclub, the next chapter” and “80 for Brady” on Prime…so funny..Happy Holidays ladies! I’m thinking of you’ all With love, Mia
I am pretty ill and so I won't be around anyone this "Christmas Season" but as soon as I feel better I plan to head up to a secluded cabin in the mountains of *Colorado* and just relax, and create *Christmas Birdhouses* and other *Christmas Decor* . Read a good book or watch *Christmas Movies* .
Thank you so much for the ideas! They make me feel happy. I’m kind of alone this Christmas, but I just am so thankful for every breath I breathe and to be able to get out and walk and breathe fresh air and look at trees and be nature and watch a movie like you say, and eat some really delicious food.!!!
I am blessed with really good neighbours and we will get together for a meal but I truly enjoy my time alone. I've managed to do whatever I needed to do and while I have daughters I am not proud of or wish to be around at any time - I am content with having done right by them - and now I get to be me!
I am a master at this! Christmas brings out the things you need, as need company, have a Christmas party, lonely, give someone that needs it help or money for them to enjoy Christmas and make them feel important also. Find a needy family or someone that just had a bad week and step up to the plate. Your Christmas will give you a glow you never had before!
Margaret, I’ve been enjoying your channel for quite a while. I love this powder blue top and neckline on you in this video! You look extra beautiful in this color. I hope you have a lovely holiday! I experienced a health crisis this year and your videos are so inspiring. You bring meaning, purpose, and joy to women in this chapter of our lives! Thank you! Merry Christmas! 🎄
Margaret....You may appreciate "Clockwise" if you like John Cleese and that English type of 'Clinton's eccentric, but very funny, sort of humour. It's one of my favourite comedy films.
Thank you so much, Margaret. Your thoughtful and insightful videos are always appreciated. Such an important and timely topic. Wishing all a blessed and peaceful holiday season!
Hi, Margaret... This is my busiest time of year, so I've gotten behind in watching your videos. This one especially struck me. I thought all of your ideas were great, not just for Christmas, but for all year around. And I think that, if we follow your advice, we will set ourselves for a much happier and more fulfilliing Christmas next year. Not to mention that our whole year will be an improvement over last. Win, Win... Thank you, Margaret!
Thank you for this video. This is my 2nd Christmas alone. Last year, I rented a cabin at Petit Jean Park in Arkansas with my little doggies. It was epic! I would have done something similar this year, but finances are unbearable.
A friend shared the giving Christmas stocking decades ago, where she gave away a filled stocking to someone who needed an uplift in their challenging time. I was a recipient years ago. I now gift a Christmas stocking to one in need. It blesses us both.❤ Hugs to all around d the 🌎 ❤
One of my favorite Christmas movies is The Bishop's Wife with Cary Grant. Tomorrow Dec 24th is my 63rd birthday. My father and brother are no longer with us. My daughter, grandson and I will spend Christmas with my mom. Many of my relatives have parties but we prefer a quiet evening. Merry Christmas everyone. 🙏🎄🎀
Solitude❤️ is not loneliness. I choose to be on my own❤️💪

Hope you enjoy this Christmas? To you leave the cabin often?
A beautiful thoughtful positive post.
Hope you have enjoyed Christmas,do you have a pet,dog I wonder.😌
I prefer a solo christmas than christmas alone

So sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. You seem like a very positive person. Best wishes today and for the New Year.
Ten years since we last my mum whom we loved so dearly. Her dentures were loose fitting, so she would take them out to answer the phone. We smile at her photo which bears the caption 'Kath hears better without her teeth!". Enjoy fond memories, may your future be blessed❤
First get busy and help others at this time of year - visit a seniors residence or community kitchen or help a family in need - there’s absolutely no reason to be feeling lonely at this time of year - appreciate what you do have
Thank you for sharing and being there for us!
Im going to have a chinese take away delish xxx
Great
I go to the movies. Its so expensive these days so its a special to go on Xmas day.
I'm thinking I might go for 1st time on Xmas, to see either Migration or Color Purple. What will you see?
Looking forward to this episode.. as I will be alone as well. Plus heavenly company in spirit. Christmas Blessings to you dear lady. Thankyou sincerely for all you do and the pleasure of your company 🎄🌏💜
The lord bless you and make your Christmas Day a joy and delight.
I love the idea of getting out in nature. ❤ I'm planning to do a Christmas eve hike!
The lord bless you and make your hike a delight and a blessing.
Wonderful tips. Celebrate your life , remember the good times , treat yourself . Enjoy being you.
Thank you Margaret for your beautiful message and to those of you who posted too. So many great messages from many of you ❤❤❤❤
Wishing all of you a blessed holiday season whether you are with family or by yourself!
I'm so happy I found this community of women ❤
Thank you and a good 2024🎉!
Thank you Margaret for your positivity and good example. Have a special Christmas Day in 2023.
Thank you, and may you feel blessed every day.
What a nice video. So kind of you to think of others during the holidays.
The lord bless you and make your holiday this year a joyvand delight
Thank you so much for sharing. I hope that you have a wonderful new year.
I hope everyone reading this manages to indulge in a few pleasures - we deserve it😊❤
So sorry to read of your losses this year. Thinking of you on this Christmas evening and sending you best wishes for the New Year.
I always like to watch "Moonstruck" during Christmas.
😂❤
Snap out of it! Love that part.
I love putting on Christmas music and movies. Decorate my house to the max. Set a beautiful table, cook a great meal or do a Holiday take-out meal and have my neighbor over.
The lord bless you and your neighbour this Christmas season.
Sending my best wishes x Thanks for your post. X
That sounds lovely. Stess free and cosy. Merry Christmas.
Hi Margaret! I have never been a huge fan of Christmas, but there are a few things I've done that helped me get through it. I've been alone at this time for years now, and it doesnt bother me much anymore. These things helped:
Cutting way down on TV watching, of all kinds.
I too look forward to brighter days glad we have turned corner in year.
One more thing: eating whatever I want, at least for these few days.
Merry Christmas 🎄- i enjoyed your post x
Bless you Margaret. I never feel quite so alone when I'm listening to you. Thank you.
Couldn't be better.❤
You are so sweet, Margaret. I’m not alone, but I like your ideas. I think I would seek out a friend who is also alone and plan a trip to a place neither of us has been. I wouldn’t want to focus on past Xmases with loved ones gone or unavailable but focus on a new adventure. ❤
Xmas is Our Saviour's Birthday. JESUS Christ🔥✝️🇮🇱💪❤️🎄✨️
I Love what you have to say!! Thank you Margaret!!! It truly helps us!!!♥️♥️♥️
Thank you Margaret for brightening our Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!🎄
I am sooo happy with my pets. For me it's another day. Here in Argentina is very hot, so I stay home hugging my dogs because a lot of stupid people use fireworks sending all pets into panic. I am sooo happy on January the 2nd. on.
This is great advice is not just at Christmas but every day
May the season bring you joy and gladness.
Thank you x Merry Christmas to you too 🎄x
🎄You matter, too! Merry Christmas
I'm going to have a solo christmas at home and will do an art retreat on my own. Every day I will do some paintings😊
Enjoy your paintings perhaps you could make cards to send people?
I’ll be alone too..
My fav holiday Movie has always been The Apartment. It has Christmas and New Years in it. The movie won 8 Academy Awards.
Hi Susan, I watched the apartment in Radio City Music Hall when it first came out. I was pretty young so I didn’t get all of the subtle adult jokes. Thank you for making me remember that movie. Happy holidays.
Thank you for your videos. They are helping me cope. ❤
Thank you for all you do, Margaret! You have provided an invaluable site here, full of positive thoughts and inspiration. I am so grateful for you. ❤️
I have a family but am an introvert. Enjoy the peace and quiet everyone! Everyone’s circumstances are desirable if you think about it. Take care and God bless. ❤
Merry Christmas from Australia Margaret 🎅🎄
This is the 2nd Christmas on my own since I lost my husband, but I enjoy my own company & have my beautiful 10 year old Jack Russell who’s been with me through everything. He’s my
shadow & follows my every move. I’ll cook a meal & I love reading & watching Christmas movies on TV, & can fill the day in very easily..
Thankyou Margaret for your kindness & wonderful videos which I love watching. And I wish you & all your viewers a lovely Christmas….🎁♥️
Merry Christmas Margaret and followers🎄❤️Another fun Christmas movie is the “Grinch” with Jim Carey
Margaret, this is such a kind and sensitive video. Sending good wishes to everyone at the holidays!
One new Christmas favorite is : Candy Cane Lane - on Prime with Eddie Murphy. It is a cute fun Christmas movie
Some of us are dealing with a loved one with dementia, a different kind of being alone.
Very good point
No awkward conversations, no invasive questions, no screaming, no shame, no shouting, no biases, nothing.
Just me, my dog, baking supplies, hot chocolate, novels, and Christmas movies ❤🎉
Perfect! ❤
Merry Christmas! Thanks for the idea to have hot chocolate ... I have some sugar-free mix in my cupboard!
You have the right idea.
I bet your dog enjoyed a very cosy christmas with you!
Yes Christmas definitely changes over the years. But thank you for sharing your story. Take care and have a wonderful 2024.
I absolutely love that movie! ☺️
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, Margaret. Like you, I have reminisced about the happiest Christmas moments from the past. This Christmas has been an unexpected gift of peace for me personally. For that I am thankful.
Hope you have a Very Happy Christmas and a prosperous NewYear
A merry christmas and a prosperous new year to you too.
Love you Margaret 😍 youre wonderful like a warm hug and a hot cup of tea on a cold day!❤🎉
Thank you, Margaret.
Thanks for reminding me of Grace & Frankie 😂 youre good for us all. Thamk you
Have a Blessed Christmas and Happiness and Health in the Nw Year!
That was such a comforting and touching video ❤
Thank you Margaret 😊 I needed to hear your words of positivity today. I have a difficult ‘joyful’ season ahead. A very Merry Christmas to you & yours 🎄🇦🇺
Just love your vidoes Margaret ,you are so down to earth
Thanks so much
Thank you. ❤
Alone in Maine.
Merry Christmas Dear Lady
I lost my mom 22 years ago. Christmas and Thanksgiving have never felt the same. I miss when we used to go to my grandparents and everyone would bring a dish. We have to keep living and start our on Traditions. I hope you have a Merry Christmas 🎄and a Happy New Year 🎉❤
Hi there! I LOVE the movie Amelie! It is not well-known here in the states.
Some of my other favorites are "A Christmas Carol," "Miracle On 34th Street," "March Of The Wooden Soldiers" & "It's A Wonderful Life."
I am alone (with my dog) for the first time in my life as of this past June. It has been a challenge, but the love of friends & family and inspiration from people like you has been a HUGE help! Merry Christmas and thank you for this video.🤗🎄🎁
Merry Christmas to you too x We have our community thanks to lovely Margaret. It will soon be new year and we will all feel more upbeat then. X
Xxx
Merry Christmas Margaret!
Enjoy the museums and the capital.
The chrismas Carol is my fav as well.
It is also my favorite!
Big hugs! ❤
Merry Christmas Margaret, and all the best for 2024 🎄
My sister likes to do Christmas brunch for immediate family. I’m thinking of you’ all
With love, Mia
I am pretty ill and so I won't be around anyone this "Christmas Season" but as soon as I feel better I plan to head up to a secluded cabin in the mountains of *Colorado* and just relax, and create *Christmas Birdhouses* and other *Christmas Decor* . Read a good book or watch *Christmas Movies* .
Greetings Margaret! For some reason, I always watch The Bell of St. Mary on Christmas. Thank you for your words of wisdom. Love and blessings ♥️🙏
Thanks margaret your an inspiration xxxx
Wishing you a joyful xmas.
I can't wear dangling earrings and a necklace, either! Great, encouraging ideas. Thank you.
The lord bless you and your efforts to serve others.
Merry Christmas 🎄 your tips were emotional yet comforting and grounding at the same time..
Margaret....You may appreciate "Clockwise" if you like John Cleese and that English type of 'Clinton's eccentric, but very funny, sort of humour. It's one of my favourite comedy films.
"Clintons"???....that's meant to be 'English' type of humour...My tablet seems to type whatever it likes!😊
❤❤❤
Thank you so much, Margaret. Your thoughtful and insightful videos are always appreciated. Such an important and timely topic. Wishing all a blessed and peaceful holiday season!
Loved the video!
I’m going to make a sock snowman for a few kids. I usually will make a Christmas ornament or some kind of textile craft is fun.
Merry Christmas thank you for this very thoughtful timely message.
Thank you for this video. This is my 2nd Christmas alone. Last year, I rented a cabin at Petit Jean Park in Arkansas with my little doggies. It was epic! I would have done something similar this year, but finances are unbearable.
Happy Christmas dear lady x
A friend shared the giving Christmas stocking decades ago, where she gave away a filled stocking to someone who needed an uplift in their challenging time. I was a recipient years ago. I now gift a Christmas stocking to one in need. It blesses us both.❤
Hugs to all around d the 🌎 ❤
❤❤❤
Margaret, you are an inspiration. I enjoy a day of quiet reflection; Christmas Eve is family day for me. Cheers 🥂
Thank you so much. ❤️🙏🌲@@floofy_kitten_ears
