Millennial here. Just bought a T4 R Design for my wife. White with black roof and Cheeto, I mean Lava, carpet. Ordered it to get all the options she wanted. She loves it. The R Design key is leather-covered.
I love how the music montage at the beginning ended with the crescendo of the music and fade to black in the sunset. Smashed that Volvo right into every movie in the early 90s
But how could the average millennial (in the US at least with our debt) afford such a thing? I think it would be more accurate to say “the entry level luxury car millennials will get if they have generous parents.”
FozWasHere dude I’m an accountant! I know some kids go that route you described but not all. It’s a bigger problem than just those majoring in philosophy and coffee. I had a partial scholarship and financial assistance but tuition is no joke and I still needed pretty serious loans.
Oceanic Flight sounds about right. I think Honda hr-v as well as far as crossovers go. I think the new Corolla hatch is a solid buy for millennials, especially if you want the manual. Can’t go wrong with something like a Honda Fit either.
Really appreciate a review of a baseline model. Every reviewer shows me the top spec which-- most people aren't getting and can't afford- and it has tons of cool stuff but... they aren't in the model people will actually get. So this was nice to see what the average buyer will get.
Absolutely appreciate all your hard work you put into producing amazing videos. I am absolutely perplexed on how I millennial could afford without going into massive debt a $45,000 Volvo. I think this speaks to a larger problem of I have to have it right now.
Not just millenials, but this is a car for every demographic. Tho, this baby blue and white top screams more for 55+ women. I'm a 40yo male and have a black with red interior. Love it!
Me and my wife took turns test driving this car weeks ago (T5 momentum)... looks nice, acceleration is good, road noise in the backseat is somewhat loud, interior (console, steering wheel controls) feels toy-like instead of luxurious. The exterior design is good and has kept the volvo feel of it. The asking price is somewhat high as compared to the Acura RDX tech we test drove on that same day. Between the two you the RDX is worth every penny.
Another great video Sofyan. This is the coolest Volvo in decades. This was a car I requested you to review and you did it. Thanks. Also is their any chance you could review the new BMW Z4 m40i in the near future?
Oh my, why is everyone talking about the price and what they can or can't afford but not about the car or review 🙄 Amazing review and this babe is beautifullll 😍

I love how these car companies think somehow, magically, your income takes a dramatic increase over the course of 3 - 4 years. You lease the 30K car, then in 36, months you can afford the 60K car...
Excuse me? What millennials are spending $700 a month before insurance? All these luxury brands are trying to expand into the millennial market but most can't afford to be paying 35-40k for a damn car. Lease it to some old folk for 3 years and we'll pick it up afterwards when it's only $20k with 27k miles on it. I did this with a fully loaded Lincoln MKZ (Original sticker price $45k) and wouldn't do it any other way. Tell my employer to double my salary and THEN I'll consider dropping 40k on a damn car.
@@XvFenixvX Ah my bad, when you right, you right. That's very odd though. Insurance prices differently based on gender, age, prior record, etc. I wonder how they would keep the same price for everyone. Does anything change if you get a speeding ticket? Huh.

I am a Volvo fanboy. I have had more than I can count new and used. I love how Volvo has reinvented themselves in recent years. Unfortunately they have become a bit of a boutique brand now. I can’t afford them. Ha. Maybe in a few years
Volvo drive trains are great. They only get better with time and once broken in they really wake up. I recently test drove a 2017 XC60 FWD base model with 86k miles already, and hot damn that thing was QUICK. Very impressed with Volvo, and hope to actually purchase one once my crappy Chrysler is paid off. LOL
Volvo's subscription service actually sounds like a pretty good deal for people who just want to drive a new car every couple years and not have to deal with anything else car related. Personally, I like to own my vehicles because I keep them for a much longer period, but a lot of people do get new cars frequently and this kind of plan is perfect for them.
This is priced almost identically to a CX-5 Grand Touring Reserve with the turbo motor (~35k MSRP). Given Mazda lately wanting to push more upscale, I think they have more work to do when it comes to fit and finish when compared to someothing like this XC40.
People need to realize Geely provides the money and the Swedes still develop and design Volvo’s. These Volvo still feel like Volvo. Most of the hate is buyers remorse from people who brought the everyday run of the mill BMW, Audi, or Mercedes that you see at every stoplight!! Don’t hate just appreciate how Volvo doesn’t follow the crowd
Idc about Volvo but i love how they doing different stuff like two tone rims and paint color finally something different respect to them for trying something different
I really liked the XC 40 when we test drove it, one small problem with it though, once you start adding the extras to it to get a good spec level, you end up in XC 60 price territory, which while the XC 40 may be good, the 60 is better, we had the same issue with the XT4/5.
Volvo really did there thing with the XC40 it's different that's what I like about it. Very nice but I want my with the R line package to give it a sporty look. It has my name on it ☺️🙂
While I like the XC40, as a millennial I would much rather a sedan. My first car was a sedan and my current car is a sedan. My next car will be another sedan. If I do get an SUV, it would have to be as a second car but not as a replacement. Great review as always! Love how informative you are!
Thanks for showing the utility portion SUV (the rear cargo area). Much better than filling it with roller bags and without even putting the rear seats down.
Thanks for such an in depth review! I'm so ready to get out of my Mercedes C300 when my lease ends early next year. I hate the infotainment system. Definitely eyeing this vehicle. Do you think Volvo will give us a 2020 update?
