    Love the Poor Man's GPS System. Works great at the fraction of the cost of a new one.😂

      Pretty common in the high plains still. You can grow some good crops.

    Own a few old inter’s, to start, crank the throttle lever fully open then just as it fires back the lever off quick smart to idle, makes so much of an easier start and a lot easier on the starter motor.. great vid, cheers from West Aus..

    Great video , thanks for sharing. Had a chance to buy a Farmal Demonstrator 25 years ago , was a model C , if I recall correctly. Was not until the farmer sold it to another guy , that it came to light it was a demonstator , when he began sanding it diwn to orep it for a fresh oaint job , that guy noticed the white oaint underneath ! At least it never went to scrap.

    Neat to watch this old iron work today. I sure don’t see how those transport wheels are convenient considering I guy needs help stowing them for field use.

      Better than a having your drive chain spinning at 20 mph going down the road. Think if I oiled it up it would lift easier.

    looks dry there to? here in wisconsin we baled corn stalks thru low ground that usually i cant get on till late may if we dont have lots of rain. my mom is 89 she has been on her farm since she was 19 there is a water way slew hole behind her one barn and she never remembers that being dry in february.

    • @tmonteIH
      @tmonteIH  3 місяці тому

      Nothing unusual here about a dry spring. Only get 20” of rain here.

    Susan 55 to 60 yrs ago a peg tooth harrow was best to smooth a hay field. I don't think they make them any more. That packer reminds me of the one dad had. He got it from his dad.

      Around 1.5”. They were drilled into moisture and just received a good rain.

    What did you do to get your brakes and steering to operate? You were concerned about something under the dash related to the electrical?

    • @tmonteIH
      @tmonteIH  3 місяці тому

      They just had to be primed. Shaking around on the trailer coming home and warmer temps brought the brakes and steering back to life. Had to repair some wiring under the dash and replace the starter button to get it so I was jumping the solenoid to start.

      3ish inches. Have to remember the shanks move dirt to the side so it’s only packing 1-2” back on top.

    You would be better off with a Hydrologic cylinder raising/lowering the transport wheels in the back

    • @tmonteIH
      @tmonteIH  3 місяці тому +1

      Lot of tractors back then didn’t have remotes to spare to run extra hydraulics.
