- Minitrucks can be hard to find parts for. When my brake master cylinder started leaking, I had to get creative.

Excellent work! Thanks for sharing.
Congrandluations on the repair. I was sure was puckering when you put a wrench to those bleeder screws. That's usually where everything goes wrong. 👍👍😎👍👍
Haha you’re a man with some real world experience.
Nice work on the repair. Of course you had the skill to make the parts, and the time. I am looking at these "UTVs", as I think they are better made and cheaper than the UTVs around here. That said, parts could be an issue.
Thanks. Mine is especially hard to find parts for mostly because of its age. The next generation Sambars are more serviceable. I enjoy the challenge of keeping it going regardless.
Does it not have rear brakes?
How did you get into machining? What's your job background? Really digging your content. I hope to one day own a minitruck aswell.
Greetings from Hamburg, Germany
Thank you!
I became interested in welding and just generally working with metal about 10 years ago. I watched a lot of UA-cam videos about welding and bought a small MIG welder and started practicing on my own. Some of those videos included machining content and TIG welding and the precision of it all really attracted me so I eventually got a TIG welder and a small benchtop lathe/mill combo machine and started playing with that and watching more videos specifically on machining. A year or two later I bought the lathe I have now because I wanted one with more power that could hold larger work.
I had access to a manual milling machine at work for a little while but had pretty limited experience with milling when a friend offered to sell me his old cnc mill for a price I couldn’t pass up. So that’s when I got into cnc machining and I’m glad I did!
When I first started with the welding I was working as a bicycle wheel builder. Previous to that I was a bicycle mechanic. Around the time I started to get decent with TIG welding and running my big lathe, the bicycle wheel manufacturer I was working for moved its factory from Florida to Michigan so rim manufacturing, wheel building, and distribution would all be under one roof. At that time I got promoted from wheel building to being in charge of factory operations and maintenance. That was 5 years ago and I’m still doing that.
The minitruck is so fun! It’s hard to find parts for but overcoming that is a fun challenge for me (as seen in this video).
Thank you for watching! Cheers
@@RussellMakes wow thanks for the detailed reply. I'm really looking forward to more content from you. Whats your take on electric assisted bicycles? At the moment I'm building an ebike from an old bike frame I inherited. There's this Chinese motor factory called Bafang and they sell mid-drive-engines up to ,I think, 1000 watt which could make for a pretty agile bicycle.
Anyway, cheers from Germany
@@28thAttempt e-bikes are cool! Enjoy the build. Cheers
Looking at one online, same Gan and year. How is it for room, I'm almost 6'2 and not sure I'll fit.
I’m 5’10” and it’s pretty tight. I’d recommend looking for the next body newer. I think 1990 or newer but would need to confirm. Also they’re 660cc 4cyl instead of 550 2cyl and some are supercharged which is awesome for obvious reasons.
Hey man im thinking of getting a sambar like you i really like the oldschool design better than the newer ones but im curious what is the top speed and what speed do you comfortably cruise at? most roads where i live are 60/80km/h and highway is max speed 100km/h (120 at nighttime) subscribed for the kei car!
Mine tops out at 85kmh. 70-75kmh is a quick cruise pace. It’s perfect on city streets. Definitely not a highway vehicle. Hope you find one that works for you!
@@RussellMakes thanks man! still doubting though! our highways are only 100km/h max speed so im leaning towards a 1990 sambar because they can cruise comfortably on 100km/h but still i prefer to avoid highway anyway..
@@n0xi0u yeah if I was buying another that’s what I’d do too. Good luck!
