My buddy just reminded me of what we say here when I sent him this video. "Was he a sinker or a stinker?" You see them go down and a flash of blood spatter. They kick, thrash and plow their heads into the ground while upside down on their back. Someone watching says "you missed" when it scurries off. You tell them "no I didn't!" Next day or so...pew...pew what's that smell! He was a "stinker" and I nailed him!
CD. Got one 223AI done with a 14inch twist and still working on the 9 inch twist.
The 14 twist i have been using 50gr tnt's up there in velocities.

That's very good shooting there! Here in Indiana we have groundhogs instead of prairie dogs. They are much larger targets but are harder to kill. If you hit one with a .22 LR in the neck or head they often run off to die and stink somewheres else. .22 Magnum and .17 HMR on up ^ are preferred if you want fast instant kills on the 15+ pounders. Over 400 yards on something 1/2 or 1/3 the size is no easy task at all.

Nothing ultra trick or fancy, it's a simple to use Canon Vixia HF R800. A hand held camcorder. 35mbps at it's highest resolution. use class 10 u3 SD cards. And the best tripod you can find.

Are you using factory ammo for fire forming? I've never had luck with anything over 55 in the .223 or .223 AI. 52's are the sweet spot for my 3 rifles. My target rifle in .223 has completely different chamber dimensions for 70grn VLD's. Shooting dogs in the wind, you learn doping hard and fast!
Factory it is. Norma brass with 60gr V-Max pills. Ordered this barrel with a 1-12" twist, it loves the 60s
@@cavedweller1959 will you be making a video of your reloads in this barrel? I'm always interested it what others find working loads and also what just didn't work. You can never have too much data.
I've always been told .223AI has very little advantage over standard .223 Rem. Any truth to that?
I'm throwing 55grs well below PSI signs, 250FPS faster than the reloading manuals at max PSI for the 223. That's not bad in my book.
@@cavedweller1959 I hear it both ways. One side says it's not a significant enough gain in case capacity to do much and that people must be overloading to squeeze out even an extra 100fps more over a max load with the standard Rem.
The other side like you say it's an honest and significant improvement staying within SAAMI spec.
Do you have any tips for a not rich person from out of state trying that?
