    Let that tape cool down before you remove it or the caps and resistors will be on the back of it 😊

    There was no need for that metalized tape. Those other components shouldn’t move unless you have the air flow way too high

      Safety is the first priority, it always good to be safe. You wouldn’t want to displace other components or want the pads to stick as a result of desoldering accidentally. This approach could be very helpful for beginners.

      Twitch54304 is right. The surface tension will keep that small components unless the airflow is too high.

    Actually, Kapton tape is the right choice to cover the surroundings, not aluminium.

    I work similar to you, but I don't use a blower, I using only a classic soldering iron. I put aluminum tape all around the chip and then apply a lot of tin. When everything is melted, I use circular movements to control the melted mass and then the chip can be lifted from the board. I also mount a new chip, then peel off the aluminum tape and wash the board. I don't use flux at all, I have very high quality tin that already contains flux.

      Then that's not similar.

    For half an hour pasted the foil on the board and then anyway rubbed the ic on the board 🤣

  • @leviofanh
    @leviofanh 10 місяців тому +3

    Oh, come on. Why don't you show me which side of the soldering iron to use? And anyway it is not necessary in this situation, if the air flow is not strong, you will not blow out these capacitors.

    The last try with this method i ripped of 4 traces, leave the device not repair-able. Questions: How much temparatur? Which flux do you use? What was this material you bind the other components?

    Why would you use both an electrical and thermal conductive tape when Kapton tape exists for this very purpose?

    • @HaraldFrentzen
      @HaraldFrentzen 13 днів тому +1

      I watch somewhere, it's better use alum foil than kapton tape. in that video, kapton tape can't prevent melt connector near the working area. I've never had problem with kapton, but I'd better switch to alum foil

  • @Snowaxe3D

      @JavidDiljohn1 Рік тому

      Ya probably cheaper than that aluminum tape

    • @rommix0
      @rommix0 Рік тому +1

      Pretty much what it's for. Kapton tape is also known as heat resistive tape, so yes it should work just fine for protecting components not needing to be removed.

    • @leviofanh
      @leviofanh 10 місяців тому

      In this situation this tape is not needed, you just blow and if you do not touch the other components, they will just float in the solder and then cool down and solder again. Aluminum tape is needed to protect fusible parts, plastic connectors, for example. And so you just need to learn how to properly use the air soldering station. A little practice and everything will work out) I recommend to buy vacuum tweezers, very convenient and unlike conventional tweezers it is more difficult to hurt nearby smd components.

    That tape is rubbish, leaves a big sticky mess and use polymide tape instead. Kapton is a brand not a type of product

      Иногда бывают рядом в плотную к выпаиваемой микрухе компоненты которые греть очень не желательно, например электролиты. Ну или рядом smd компоненты настолько крохотные, что страшно ненароком сдуть))
