Head's up, I'm currently in communication with 3DMakerPro to see if I can get better results or if this is it. Stay tuned!
Thanks for sharing your experience with the Seal! I'm also struggling to scan mechanical parts. I probably need more practice, but it's just consuming so much of my time.
Thanks for your review :) hope get a better product soon!
Great video!
Very informative
Thanks for making this video. I got the lite and my experience was the same. The software unintuitive, the scanning is not smooth at all and I've yet to get any working scan.
Dude... thank god I'm not the only one who's beating their head against this thing. I really, really want something to just *click* and figure out it's just been me the whole time... I see you dropped a new vid a day ago so I'll check that out. Side note: 20:20 that 'squeak'.... my wife's jaw hit the floor when she heard that... I do that *exact* sound alllll the time LOL....
Can anyone recommend an alternative that is still reasonably priced? Bought the seal and it is disappointing. Please help. Thank you
hello, thanks for the video. What is the resolution of the device? Has anyone used exocad in the dental industry?
That totally depends on what you are looking to do with it, if you wanna catch microscopic details of a 2cm Warhammer Figure, yeah maybe you should buy a 15k professional Dental scanner or something like that, if you wanna reverse engineer some parts ( firearm accessories or car) than I already had some good results....
Try spraying the model with dry shampoo spray first. It makes a lot of difference in the scan.
Great tip! I did try out coating the model in flour and that helped a bit!
Interesting - I'd looked long and hard at this and Mole and even with their current black cyber deals I have concluded I'll be hiring a scanner or use my phone/nerf gaussian splat etc - still a long way to go it seems
PolyCam has been awesome if you're looking for an app-based one...
What do you want from cheap Chineese 3d scanner. I made DIY SLS 3d scanner (two industral cameras and dlp projector) it cost at least 3 times more than seal.
Do not buy this product, they do not honor their warranty, and the SEAL is substandard and has a lot of issues tracking and quality. Do not fall for the marketing BS.
What brand would you recommend??
all3dp just came out with a "Best 3D Scanners of 2024" article. Lots of good info! all3dp.com/1/best-3d-scanner-diy-handheld-app-software/
It's very good if you scan slowly and get the latest software updates.
Yeah, I got bad vibes and withdrew from the Kickstarter campaign. Glad I did.
I don’t think there is a scanner on the consumer market that can capture sharp angles like you expected from the seal. It’s also not something they advertise with
I use einscan pro hd a lot and it can just fine.
@@wensz1 maybe consumer market wasn’t the right phrase, maybe hobby market. Or just anything under a 1000 dollars
Also trying the scan a reflective and featureless can is probably not a good idea...😂
@@kevinedw2002 Exactly, probably the worst object you could pick to try and scan.
I have the seal lite and it really is the same experience. Not impressed at all. Would not recommend it to anyone haha
Totally unimpressed with my Seal and Smartgrip, then I find out I would get charged by 3dMP US$100 + taxes to return it for a refund even though I suspect it does not work as advertised!!! Total rip off merchants!!
Wow! Ok good to know...
I'm happy to spend $100 to get a refund on my hand grip, turntable and seal unit. Terrible experience. Not at all as advertised.
@@iamjeffreydohnt if you are having a badd experience and you think it is not as advertised why would you be happy to pay to return it?? Surely if it does not work "as advertised" you should not have to pay to return it as it is their fault they sold it by misrepresenting it??
100% correct, but compared to the alternative (as you hinted) of selling it off for way-not-enough isn't that nice of a thought compared to only losing $100 for the privilege of experiencing some new technology that wasn't cooked yet - and then go and add more funds that you saved up over the 8 months it took to deliver on the 'sale' and spend that extra juicy refundy money... on something decent hehee... @@subseauk Love your work!
I want a refund, i cant get basic connection and its really ugly and heavy on the smart grip , this is not cash well spent
you just don't know how to use it
