Thanks a lot for such wonderful video. Could you kindly give me some tip on how using two sets of this product (for interview purposes) on a Sony A7 camera? I tried by using one receiver connected to the camera (which has only one p2 jack) and two transmitters with the same frequency of the receiver, but faced interference. Can you help me please?
You make the set up simple with your clear directions and visuals that make this a no brainer. I've been using this mic system for years just swagging it regarding frequencies. Never new about the syncing. Even my audio pro wasn't aware of that nifty feature. I'll be checking out your other videos as well. Thanks for creating this tutorial.
Bruh, I've had the G3 series for almost 2 years now and learned something new from the first 30 secs of your video lmfao I never knew it was that easy to re-sync the two by tapping them together. Appreciate you for just THAT right there. Also, it's good to see another person with G3/Zoom H6 combo. ✊🏽 i LOVE the sound it gives when i record interviews out on the field. You've just got a new sub out of me.
Dude this was awesome! I've been frustrated for years with my G3 because I thought I was just dumb and didn't know how the settings worked. My pack came with a handheld mic transmitter, a body pack, and a camera receiver like shown here. Well, thanks to your video, I just learned that the handheld transmitter is on a different frequency range than my body pack and receiver, so it's not just that I'm an idiot, it's that there was legit only 1 frequency that both shared (516.000) and that was obviously problematic. I've already reached back out to my sennheiser rep about it. Thank you so much! Very well done video!
the frequency bandwidth struggle is real, especially for those who are working large show choir shows. You may be using all three types of packs in that situation. Glad I could help!
@@JavierMercedes For sure! Weird thing is that this is the only g3 system I have so I know they all came in the same box. I've got a g4 and an XS. But it seems they just shipped wrong.
Really good overview of config and settings for EW100's. Much appreciated. Subscribed. Too many other sites just walkthru in a review or unboxing ... not helpful for those of us who purchased this gear but need to understand how to optimize it's performance.
thank you so much! i have had these for years now and i have totally disregarded them. your setup has helped and i havent even tried them yet =). thank you
Thank you for this excellent video. After watching lots and lots of UA-cam videos I finally decided to get a pair of AW 100 G3's used on eBay. This is a great video on how to set them up.
Great thorough video! Really helpful. Usually when I view these types of videos there is something they forget to mention but not this. I’m connecting to a Tascam DR-60 Dmk II and I wasn’t seeing a single and that was because my Sennheiser wasn’t hooked up right. Now it seems to be working thanks to this set up video.
Brilliant clearly said detailed info in easily accessible language no blinding us with science. You Share your knowledge generously and then you clearly show us what your talking about. You should have so many followers and any thumbs down are not worth taking notice of. Gifted and Brilliant are my best words for your tutorial.
Thank you so much for great video. I checked out this lav mic from my school and had no idea what to do with it. But now it is set up and working great thanks to this video. Keep up the awesome work. Much appreciated.
Very Nice video. I learned a few things I didn't know about my G3's, but background music is distracting (to me, anyway). Some viewers will disagree with me, but I bet if you didn't use the music at all while you're speaking, virtually nobody would mind at all. I've been producing videos professionally for over 30 years and have, at times mixed background music too loud and my clients/sample viewers have let me know to mix it down a bit. Once again, Way Good info here. Thanks.
03:35 What if you scan a new set of frequencies at the beginning of a show with empty seats in the theater, and then people come in, and change the frequency spectrum situation and the empty frequency spots with their cellphones? Great video BTW congrats!!!
Super cool video! I keep trying to decide on a system a bit more complex but the Rode Go’s makes life soo much easier! I think it’s the Sennheiser AVX system I might go with if I need to but the Go’s have been super reliable.
Before buying more transmitters I would like to know if... Does the Sennheiser EW 100 G3 Wireless Mic System allows you to synchronize more than 1 transmitter to the same receiver? Sometimes I need to do interviews with 2 or 3 people at the same time. Your video is very helpful to me!
Great video Javier. May I make a suggestion for you to add a small sticker on each device facing the camera with the words "Receiver" and "Transmitter" so we know which is the Receiver and Transmitter you are holding. I often find myself doing some rewinds back to verify that you are holding one or the other. Thanks and be safe.
Hello Javier: I couldn't use my old Rode NTG3 with my Sennheiser EW 100 G3 system because the NTG3 required Phantom power which required that I run the NTG3 into an external audio recorder. However, I see now Rode has a version of NTG4+ which has onboard phantom power. So I was going to order it to see if I could, when I'm in the field, and to avoid wires if needed, run the NTG4+ into the Sennheiser EW 100 G3 system without a hitch hopefully getting some quality boom mic action without any wires with an agreeable amount of Audio quality loss given the convenience not to need wires. I will transmit the pickup to a DSLR using the EW 100 G3 receiver audio out into the camera's mic in. I'm assuming you've got a video explaining best practices using a G3 system and mic/audio out and DSLR mic settings for best audio quality results with this setup, if so please respond with link to video, or deem this a request to consider a video talking about Mic Sensitivity / Audio out levels (bests practices) and DSLR mic levels (best practices). Thanks.
I have the G4 version and have found that banks that are full of free channels are usually ones to avoid! The sensitivity settings is still a dark art to me - I screwed up a recording the other day as I forgot to adjust it when using a better lav mic and it was too late by the time the interview started.
Just fantastic. Why is your level set so low? I am an amateur at this but I would think setting it to -dB would be better. Thanks.(assuming I don't want to adjust in post)
Thank you. Thanks to Covid and my new ATEM Mini Pro, I just dusted off my ew100 g3 that's been unused in the bag for years. Your video was just what I needed. I'm planning on just leaving the receiver permanently connected to the ATEM mini... awesome! Question 1: do you know of any power options/hacks for the ew100 that get rid of the batteries? I'd like to not worry about batteries on the reciever. Question 2: When I did the frequency scan, only about 3 channels were available (1 channel on 3 different banks). How is that possible,?! Is my WiFi or some other device pounding these frequency? Are the Russians or the Chinese bombarding my house?

Do you have a video on the playback being super low and quiet? Followed all your steps but having this weird issue

One of best videos on the Sennheiser EW 100 G Series- nice delivery very clear and calm. THANKS

OH - MY - GOODNESS... I was today years old when I was taught about the syncing of these mics. That was amazing literature. Awesome!!!
This tutorial deserves an Oscar, very well done, thank you.

You just saved our live stream this coming weekend. Thanks man!
Wow, thanks for the straight forward clarity of your directions.
The first video accurately describing Pilot Tone...Thank you for that. Cheers Mate.

Very good explanation. Saving this video for future help in case I forget some things. Thanks for doing a great joy... and 4 years ago. LOL
Very useful video. Many options I didn't even know I have.
Thanks Javier!
Glad I could help!

Thank you for creating this tutorial, Javier.
This literally saved my life today. THANK YOU!
Thanks a lot for this video! I’m sitting here totally lost with these micro ports and then you came 🥳

“I’m just going to set it to 311, cuz that’s a band”
Hahahaha Awesome!
Just bought the G4 series! This was very helpful!!
Thank you so much. You rescued me! I was having issues with my mic and you helped solve them!

Great video BTW congrats!!!
thanks bro, it helped me a lot
Very in depth and helpful tutorial. Thanks!
This is very helpful
Great video, thanks
This is quite useful. Thank you. I normally use manual to sync between them. Keep on doing what you are doing.
Glad I could help Moses. The scanning feature really cuts down on the amount of time it takes to find a clean frequency, as well as that sync feature.
Super cool video! I keep trying to decide on a system a bit more complex but the Rode Go’s makes life soo much easier! I think it’s the Sennheiser AVX system I might go with if I need to but the Go’s have been super reliable.
I haven’t tried them but I’m sure they do an awesome since I see those all over the place
Love the audio q in the video… a little too busy for my taste but nicely mixed.
Thank you so much bro!
Thank you so so much for the vidoe
Great video. Thank you so much. This video really helped me.
Thank you for creating this!
I think you misspoke. -30db should be less sensitive than -24db etc.. on the transmitter
Rented a g4 yesterday for the first time and it was plug and play. Unbelievable. Whole day whitout one single signal drop.
Well-stated explanations. Thanks.
You stopped on 311 and I was like "yessss do it!"
Hahaha great minds think alike.
perfect! thanks!
Thanks buddy!
Love em!
Good review, very useful. Thanks.
This video is helpful
Great video
This is super helpful.. Thanks much Javier!
Glad it was helpful Joe!

Nope, you would need a different set of packs for each person. Two transmitters on the same frequency can create noise problems.
@@JavierMercedes I appreciate your answer and knowledge. Blessings Javier!

so helpful. thanks for this video.
Thank you for this!! What level do you put your Sony A7SIII on? I was told to set it to the lowest at "1" so you are barely using the pre amp
I have the G4 version and have found that banks that are full of free channels are usually ones to avoid! The sensitivity settings is still a dark art to me - I screwed up a recording the other day as I forgot to adjust it when using a better lav mic and it was too late by the time the interview started.
How does it perform in extreme cold outdoor conditions all day? Does moving from cold outdoor to warm indoor bad for it?
loving your work thank you
Thanks, this was great. Followed all the instructions but yellow AF button flashing, any idea why?
The best out there
