This is the type of video I've been looking for. I've been playing around the last couple of weeks, engraving silverware, tools, cleaning rust from tools, etc. Nothing is safe in my house - lol. Now I need to take a trip to Harbor Freight. Thanks for the great video!
I don't... and the guy that I know near me who has a laser, hasn't used it yet and he's one of my groomsmen, so I probably shouldn't ask him for help here 😂
Thanks for watching! Gave it a few tries, and failed. Figured I would try to fill them again on a later date. Think it was because I was using the outline.
Just got my F1 Ultra and wanted to see what settings you used, since a friend at work is already asking me to etch his tools :) Nice results! I think on the pocket knife, since it's a galvo laser, you want the thumb catch directly under the center of the laser, so the circle around it doesn't get distorted. Ignore what the camera shows since the camera's offset, just make sure you measure correctly. So focus on the blade, then slide it over so the catch is centered.
3D engraving is technically live, as what xTool calls embossing. However, I suggested that they enable the descending Z for other engravings besides embossing. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Total newb here, so once i have locked all of my vector objects how do i highlight everything it wont let me unless i highlight them then lock, then when i hit subtract a highlight pops up and says (the operation is not supported. Please select other objects. Very frustrating but like i said im totally new to this lol
Hey Tripod, I'm a complete beginner (bought your Falcon 2 40w) and was wondering how you figure out how to figure out what power and speeds you need for different materials. All the videos I've seen haven't been that great. Think that might be a video you could make? (Complete noob video haha)
Hey Brad! Materials are very tricky. Especially wood can be a little different each time, due to hardness and how close the rings are. However, there is a material chart that you can start out with as a reference from Creality. store.creality.com/ca/blog/creality-falcon2-laser-engraving-cutting-settings Also you can take a look at my xTool D1 40w as a reference also.
Can you tell me, can this be done in the S1-40W or the WeCreat Vision 40? (engraving on metal tools or wood handles?) I am trying to decide which laser engraver I want to buy. It will be my first one but I don't want in a year to be saying... oh I got to buy the new one cause it will do this and this or I am so sorry I didn't get the XTool cause it does this and my WeCreat doesn't. I learned big things from you in just 1 video I watched so I am watching more of your videos now. I learned to make sure you have a stable steady table and I am concerned about the escaping exhaust you had in your video about the WeCreat Vision 40w. We can not vend thru a window or open a window/door or garage for this and I don't want fumes. This will be in a small 10x10 bedroom with a small vertical window vs horizontal window. Now I am wondering if the Xtool S1 40w will have the same exhaust issue. Any help is GREATLY APPRECIATED.
Greetings! Well first question, what are you looking to engrave? Second question, what is the size of the items you are looking to engrave. To me the F1 Ultra has basically everything one could want. You can practically engrave anything. Having a dual source laser gives you a lot of flexibility. The Vision is basically good for woods and other organics. Sure it offers a 2w IR, but it will not do any deep engravings in metal like you saw in this video. Plus with a galvo laser they are more compact, faster, more accurate, and they do not shake a table. For the most part if the part fits in the F1 Ultra with the lid closed, the exhaust does a good job venting out. Hope that answers your questions? Thanks for watching and commenting!

So glad I could help! Nothing was safe when I started with lasers either 😂😂. Cannot wait to see your creations 👍
You could also go to the thrift store and pick up a bunch of weird stuff to practice on.
@MrSeanVideos Thanks for the suggestion!
Wow! Learned so much quickly. Best video on the ultra and how to actually use it ive seen yet. Thanks!!
Many thanks! Tried to put a lot into 20min video.
@@TripodsGarage where do i find the 2nd am. Circle you used for the box? I have a friend wanting one already 👍🏻
@@adinamm- The location of the file is in the description 👍
@@TripodsGaragegot it thanks!
I am so close to adding this to my arsenal. Great video thanks. New subscriber!!
Many thanks for watching and subscribing! It is a great machine 👍
I absolutely love the axe heads! Gives me groomsmen gift ideas...
Nice! Do you have a fiber laser? I might know someone that does 🤔

Thanks, for the walk through. Why did you not clear out the filled enclosed areas in the letters like the P, R, O and D?

Once the three D engraving is activated it will be amazing. That looks superb.

Huh... Now you're gonna make me go spend a fortune at Harbor Freight John. *Thanks for that!* _Great video!_
Hmm, did you already have an addiction? I will take the blame from this point forward 🤣🤣. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Looks great John! 👍
Many thanks!
Soo cool! Thx 🙏

I tried the metal ammo box and am not gettting a clean-shiny metal finish. I increased my passes and used the same settings. Any other ideas thanks!
I would gradually increase the power, one pass at a time. Make sure you level the box
