Beautifully lyrical guitar lines that support the vocal melody...this was the music of my 17th year, exciting, original and full of colorful landscapes painted by the lyrical & glorious melody of Stew's vocals and Tony's bass planted by Mark's incredibly intricate stickwork. Oh yeah, and Stew's vocals, lyrics, & his & Bruce's soaring guitars. Sublime. Great job, mate...Slainte!
Impressive. This close up view gives great insight into Stuart Adamson's creative writing abilities as well as reminding us all of what a technically great guitarist he was.
Dear God !! The best cover of this epic track. If I had a genie in a lamp I'd give it a wee rub and playing BC like this on guitar would be one of my 3 wishes.. Well done mate. That's frigging class !
Haha, thanks! Big Country are my local band and although I don’t listen to them a lot, I still do really like a lot of their work. Makes me proud to be from the same place.
Love Big Country. This was the band that kind of introduced me to the amazing electric guitar when I heard Chance from my dads record collection back in 1983. Chance is my all time fav Big Country song. Steve indeed liked Wonderland, but I'm pretty sure he liked more than just that one song from this band. You listen to the guitars and it's kind of obvious why Steve would take an interest, Stuart adamson was an incredible talent. Sadly missed also. Ben, maybe you could do a cover of Chance for me sometime too? Perhaps on the strat?
+ClarkOVision This one and Just A Shadow have always been my go to tracks. Even the more poppy sounds of One Great Thing and I Walk the Hill are great as well for me. I think the Love Bites solo and even the Don't Shoot Shotgun solo could be loosely tied to a Big Country approach to guitar work. I think I could do Chance and maybe Wonderland as well for the hell of it. :)
Nice Cover.............You do a great job............ A suggestion.............Put up 10 songs you would be interested in covering and let your subscribers vote on them to determine which one you do next, or in the near future.....
Fantastic. And also my favourite song from these bastards. Saw them live in Rockpalsat, Essen. Great. And this song has all in it. You did perform very well.
+messybluesboy371 Thanks. The Jackson lineup today isn't quite the same as it was when I got mine around 10/11 years ago. I don't think the lower to mid price stuff is as good but hopefully in a few years they'll get some better stuff out. :)
Great cover!! Always thought Big Country was underrated! Such an awesome Band! Wish I could have seen them here in Canada! Anyways, I'm not sure if you take requests but I will throw this one out there. Doesn't Really Matter by Platinum Blonde!! Have a Great Day!! Cheers!!
Awesome! Any chance of some pointers on the effects/settings on the different parts here? I've got a multi-effects pedal and would love to have a blast at this. Very grateful for any info. Cheers
Cheers! I don't know a lot about Big Country's fx set ups but I do know they use a harmoniser/octave effect to get one of their distinct tones. So I have the octave above harmoniser on and mixed so it just gives a little high end presence. Short delays with numerous repeats are also a distinct sound of their I used here. I have a Boss Me50 so I couldn't put much else on, like a chorus which I normally would have done for personal taste. Hope that helps. :)
Excellent, there is a Big Country Guitar page on Facebook if you would like to join.Feel free to cover more Big Country and maybe post the tabs cheers (and my profile picture i am holding Bruce Watson guitar )
I don't get a lot of free time anymore to stick lessons up on here but I do offer custom transcriptions and/or video lessons for a fee. If you're interested then send over an email to bwmguitarlessons@gmail.com. Cheers.

AWESOME playing! I wish I could afford a Jackson. SOMEDAY...
If you must have a Jackson I suggest the Adrian Smith sig. Awesome piece of kit. However, you should get a Gibson. Even better, imo. 👍
