I think for rando expansions in general (or team races), it'd be neat to have a mechanic like "You can synth 5 Ori+ into the promise charm or one of the three proofs" (or something)
Similar to forcing final form, it'd just make the check with the real proof/charm a redundant check, but it'd help a struggling teammate.

okay i'm just going to put the summary first just cause.
To summaries. 1. KH lost its seriousness and is pure funny juice now WHICH IS FINE. but is makes the divide between the old and new KH games more apparent. 2. and those twist endings. we learn about critical information at such a random time despite nothing stopping the wizard from telling us sooner. Thanks wizard for having such great timing!
and when i mean 'Seriousness', i'm talking about characters really considering the consensuses of their actions. Knowing what the best course of action is, taking that course, and paying for it. (Ah Yes sora knew he would be transported to square city after saving kairi. that honestly makes more sense that sora just accepting his death again)
1. KH use to have a good balance between serious and silly. more specifically, KH knew how to be serious and not sound like a joke.
KH1 a toy boy devises to have a heart.
KH:COM, Everything that happens to Repliku.
KH2 Roxas's well-being was 'sacrificed' in order to wake up Sora. & all the tragic fate of all nobodies just wanting hearts.
358 Days, the interactions between the sea-salt crew. They knew when to be silly, but when it was serious, it was sad.
Coded & BBS... okay this when they serious started to blend with the silly. eraqus: "Okay, Ven just came home 2 minutes ago and now i'm going to kill him & anyone who stops me." It sounds silly, but We just got a huge plot bomb about the fate of Ven & Xehanort's plan. Eraqus dies after this fight. but there are so many leaps in logic that, while feeling serious the first time, is hard to take serious in retrospect.
2. Re:Coded & MoM, The Ending just had to drop THAT Information to us out of the blue.
In Re:Coded, we learn what the message in the bottle was and the fact XEHANORT is coming back... and WE made it happen. Yeah.
MoM, we learn... Riku just left for another plan of existence, because fairy god mother is a god who can send people to the dead's door step. We learn of a realm that's not light or dark... that's also not twilight, not of dreams or nightmares, not unversed, not memories, not of WILLS... but of FICTION.
out of all the realms of Existence to choose from that relate to light and dark. they chose fiction. they couldn't set this up any better? we couldn't know this sooner? how many people knew this? just the wizards? Why? "CAUSE A WIZARD DID IT" - hellofutureme
At least Science-Xehanort actually did something... but the fact kairi's lost memories are only now being brought up... sure Sora's & Ven's lock away memories were important but not kairi's. ugh.

As someone who likes KH3, I always felt that the vanilla base combos weren't supposed to be that great so that you would use the Keyblade transformations more(which i like a lot of the transformations). I can see why people didn't like it though. the new combos slap though! my only thought is that i wish they found a way to actually sprinkle them throughout the game instead of just handing you all of them at once.
