    We need more people like Anton in this country. I'm glad he came here and hopefully one day he can do YT full time and follow his dreams. Everybody should have that same opportunity, that if you work hard, you will be successful.

    • @Acusumano25
      @Acusumano25 11 місяців тому +7

      if you work hard, you *CAN* be successful but the fact of the matter is that hard work doesnt necessarily mean anything.
      case in point, bud light executives were "hard at work" trying to appeal to the general public but dropped the ball massively. it's about working smarter, not harder.

    • @Nefville
      @Nefville 11 місяців тому +4

      @@Acusumano25 I think you're missing the point, its a generalization, but I agree that there are things that affect how successful one can be. For instance being born to a rich family. But I don't mean "hard" as in pulling an airplane to the runway by your teeth instead of using a tug. Working hard means a lot of things, effort, motivation, planning, educating yourself. Just that if you put in the effort you probably will succeed and Anton is a good example of this.

      I'd give this comment another like, but I just can't.
      That said, I think anyone willing to take an occasional leap of faith and work hard to improve their station in life *can* be successful, but whether that success is what they expect or not is a different story. You can apply yourself all you want, but if you're at a dead end job, there's only so much success to be had. You have to be the one to make a decision and take the necessary actions to improve your life. Much like Anton did.

    Whenever I watch anything about how 'work' operates in America, the more I appreciate minimum working/life standards that we have here in western Europe, including mandated holidays, sick pay, maternity/paternity, public healthcare, weekly working hour limits, minimum time gap between shifts etc. Even something as simple as paying waiting staff a fair wage so they don't need to 'work for tips' can be quite odd to those across the pond.
    But anyway, Anton, we're glad you are where you're at and compared to some other immigrants you can be thankful that you have a life filled with people who care about you. We're all with you as you build your brand and UA-cam channel - the consistency of videos has been brilliant. Remember how quickly Mr Meatball went from 200k to 1m: that will be you soon enough.

      100%! And I know this does not come for free, but as somebody who is not working on a minimal wage, I am happy to pay the little extra. Also.. you can work more than 40hrs if you really want to => become self employed.
      Though to have a healthy and sustainable life with hobbies outside of work, family, kids and a working partner as well, 40 hrs a week is normal.
      It is also very unusual to have multiple jobs. Like 40 hrs at one place and another 20 hrs at another place.
      A few of my dev colleagues do that though - on the way to become fully self employed they start working part time and focus on their own business. Once it runs properly they quit their old job and focus fully on it

    One of my employers had a hard time navigating this kind of thing. We did low voltage jobs by bid, so we serviced Walmart, Starbucks, DG, or anyone who had enough work and enough money to employ us. But he paid most of the workers, except for a select few, by the hour. So some teams would take the entire length allotted to do the project, while others would get it done faster. It mostly came down to who was paid hourly and who wasn't. I didn't mind getting paid hourly, but I did mind that our bosses had an issue if we didn't get the job done 2 days sooner than given. Which was a major problem given that not all crews were equally trained and new hires were coming and going due to the massive workload that might get pushed on to their shoulders a week into having the job. Its a tough business between profit and good workers.

    I almost had something like that happen. As an electrician, I have to go in attics and try not to step between the joists. And one time, at a job, it was really hard in this one spot to tell where the joists were, and I stepped through the drywall. The contractor didn't get upset, he was just like, "that can happen in this business."
    But if I fell though, it was over a high foyer, I would say about 30 to 40 feet, so I would have been in the shit if I fell all the way through.

    OMG,I just stopped the video at 5:40 to comment. When I used to work in Gap, I would go unpack about 500 boxes weekly, and if anyone needed those, we would just give the flattened out boxes for free. Saved us the trips to recycling area. As for my current job, I'm salaried and get paid overtime, but I kinda fell overtime just leaves me out of pocket, as I would get a delivery takeaway, instead of proper cooking, it's a lot harder to exercise and just get depressed. Мой бывший одноклассник, имея российское высшее, после переезда в США тоже работал разнорабочим по факту(доставщик, строитель, таксист), его не брали на работу по специальности(инженер-строитель), английский был у него на среднем уровне, через полгода, он пошел в муниципальный колледж, говорил что учится фактически бесплатно, отучился 2 года и это помогло ему подтвердить его российское образование, не смотря на низшую ступень американского образования. Устроился хорошо, живет в нью джерси, 120 000 в год заработная плата, хорошая мед страховка от работодателя.
    Главным подчеркнул, что очень сильно преуспел в английском и сам факт его присутствия в колледже, отраженный в резюме, резко облегчил поиск хорошей работы.
    Но это время и было тяжело совмещать, при этом муниципальные колледжи он оценил как наш 10-ый класс в школе, даже не как российский колледж, но с большой практикой по специальности.

    Working conditions and compensation have been getting worse and worse in the USA. Employers do not pay as fairly as they once did and most are not offering benefits or only just bare minimum and high deductable insurance. They are not even trying to keep up with the cost of living since expenses continue to cost more and pay has not increased in years. From the consumer side, shrinkflation and greedflation are getting much worse as well, that is, less and less each year for the same or more money. Unfortunaely there is no good solution in another country as this is by far the safest and best place to live for sure. We have to keep larege corporations from taking from us all for the greedy few on top. For example, Jeff Bezos! As for salaried positions the compensation can be similar and have declined. I have worked with clock watchers in the past with poor work ethics and they always make projects more difficult.

    When I first started my job I was helping someone else set up some bin boxes on a wall. He would give me a task and I'd do it - and I'd get it done quickly. After a bit of this he stopped me and said, "Hey, slow down a bit. You've gotta learn to..."
    As he paused I said, "Slack off?"
    "No, no," he said. "Pace yourself."
    I never learned to pace myself. At my job, we have an indeterminate amount of work each day. I quickly learned to work with the assumption that more will be piled on top at any given time. If I look at what I have at the start and "pace myself" to take all day to do it, I'll inevitably get more and find myself rushing at the end. If I simply work hard right away, maybe there might be down time if additional work doesn't pile up fast, but I'll be ready for it and maybe the end of the day won't be frantic. Usually. Sometimes it's frantic anyway because the bulk of work comes in during the latter half. It'd be worse, though, if I tried to "pace myself" at the start.

      Yep… that’s why sometimes it’s easier for me to get contract for job. Here is the job - here is your payment. You can do the job in a week or one day. It’s up to you. So…yeah… all depends on so many factors anyway.

    You should try to buy your boxes by the pallet from a supplier like uline

    Tell Lowe’s you’ll use their boxes if they sponsor you instead. Then stick with Home Depot until you get sponsored by one of them, or another company that makes good boxes.

    Daily overtime after 8 hours is kinda specific and really only known to some trades workers/cooperate workers. But if y'all aren't getting paid OT after 40 hours, ya need to go to HR immediately if not higher up than them. That's illegal on any terms, even if your boss says it's optional, they still have to pay you OT no matter what, it's the law. I had this happen a few months ago and didn't actually know the laws so I looked into it. Needless to say that will never happen again.

    NGL this reminded me of an old manager I had that hated the whole “quiet quitting” thing, had the whole “the bell doesn’t dismiss you, I do” teacher vibe. He would’ve probably loved “In China, 5 Pm you are barely 2% into your 72 hour work week” You telling me to work past 5 pm? Am I going to be compensated accordingly?, he’s been unemployed for the last month after the company he worshiped decided he was useless.

    Hey I wanna ask your advice for how to become a citizen with all this legal stuff. I mean i already researched how to become one but im still confused. So you start with a visa, then get a green card and then have to stay in the US for some years with the green card until you can apply for Citizenship? Would be awesome to hear something from you because it has been a dream of mine for years to join the US Special Forces

    The people that actually want to work at 5am, and in the U.S. it seems a lot of them do, but I am not one of them. Even 7 am is way too early. I was born at night.

      I actually feel both ways about working efficiently and fast. On the one hand I do, and try to keep getting more efficient and fast without neglecting quality.
      But I also worked for a few people and places that were endlessly playing mindgames with employees to convince them they were slow as shit, and needed to improve, when they actually were not.
      I worked for one person that did that, and when I left, at other places they would say how fast and good I was. But I wasn't going any faster or better than when this person was telling me I was slow and a liability to the company.
