- Spending a couple of days in Narsarsuaq (a former American Military base fra WW2), hiking towards the Greenlandic icecap. The hiking trip is about 7km one way, so make sure you bring food (unlike me) and drink the delicious water along the hike.
South Greenland is a quite different Greenland, lots of trees, greenery and lovely scenery.

Fantastic video and this really makes me want to visit Narsarsuaq in July one year. Greenland is indeed green at times and in parts!
I was there in late august, so most of the mosquitoes had died, which was very pleasant😄
I got exhausted after seeing your face at the end of the hiking trail. Nice day and landscape view.
It totally was exhausting.. Glad I managed to portray that.😆
Absolutely beautiful video!!!
It is nice to see you have found your recreational spot. Indeed, it is rare to find a place that is nice but relatively empty from tourists.
Also, interesting to see there was even a green pasture. I guess those will become more and more common in Greenland in the coming years, and that's a good thing from the perspective of your domestic food production and economy.
South Greenland is awesome and nice to see more Green land around you😎
Amazing
Thanks!
Hope the hotel had a hot tub for you to soak in afterwards! Absolutely stunning area, thanks for sharing.
Wish they did, but the food was alright, considering only 150 people lives there fulltime😁
I am wondering if you could grow any vegetables or fruits there? With some black stone fences on a south facing slope or with an unheated greenhouse, maybe some blueberries, strawberries or even early cherries would get ripe in a cold short season. Or potatoes.
Do you know if there is any agriculture nowadays?
I could imagine, vegetables and fruits are very expensive if it needs to be imported.
Another masterpiece Alex ..luvd it..The G Land is on my bucket list for sure..still fascinated by the scale of airport earth works ..amaze balls!
Thanks Craig!
Have a good day!
"My feet hurts." :)
They sure did😅
@@AlexAmasaOlsen I laughed when you said that- how you said that!
Cool video! Definitely want to visit one day!
Thanks man! You totally should visit😎
It's pretty cool that there are so many trees there. Is the Arboretum still active? On Wikipedia it states there are 50,000 trees there!
Im pretty sure its still active and they plant there every year!
But I think there has been planted more trees than 50.000
Nice to see ya back man! Would love to visit at some point. Are there any holiday companies you could recommend (that support the local economy) as well?
Yes, I havr been away a little bit!
You mean companies in Narsarsuaq? Or companies in Greenland in general?
@@AlexAmasaOlsen greenland in general
World of Greenland is now 100% owned by Greenland.
But it depends which region you go to. But Visit Greenland has a good overview of each region and companies
@@AlexAmasaOlsen do they offer group tours with World of Greenland? I'd be interested in this because i'd be a solo traveler otherwise
@@RK-is1xp Go check out Google, then find their website and see, also Guide to Greenland has tours

Whats the mode of transportation from nuuk to there? Is it via boat or via air?
You fly with airplane from Nuuk to Narsarsuaq
Alex do you think (Qaanaaq) thule in Avannaata would have big city or town from your opinion? I was just watched video on here especially with current social issues occurred young with high rates of suicide. Do they need thule big city same as nuuk to help with common problems they have with such problems they persist like anit social matter with drinking problems and making things worse for themselves. Would another city be a better solution for them such as facilities for places to enjoy doing and such areas then that of doom and gloom that facing to? Its such good thing to blend in as I watch your video but as person living there is it good sensible idea for you to cover serious issues in your video? Thank you for your wonderful support for reading about this subject.
Not sure I understand your question🤔
As Qaanaaq is a very small town and I dont think it will get big anytime soon..
As for social problems, definitely it needs to be talked more about, better help options and limit alcohol/make another way of distributing alcohol.
