I'm glad your you've managed over the years to keep engaged not only with the Greenland Tourism and Lifestyle stuff, but also with the personal finance aspects since it's such a core part of the channel's identity. It will be interesting to see what they end up building on that lot outside your window - it's already come a long way since a few months ago.

So true! The old KNR building is already sold, so no doubt more apartment buildings and hopefully a supermarket comes to the area.

Jersey is quite expensive, especially Bergen County. My parents bought a house in Tenafly back in 1966 for about $35K, and recently sold it for $1.5 million! Tenafly/Alpine/Closter, etc. has become quite exclusive.

Wow! It is truly a nice and well laid out flat and I think that the price is rather good considering that you live in Nuuk., In Piedmont, my region, renting a flat like yours is becoming impossible, as prices are raising more and more. Thank you very much for sharing.

This sounds insane to me. I am renting a 260m2 house with 6 rooms, 2000m2 garden with a private coast of a river for... 860e, which would be just slightly more in $. Sure, I have to pay about 200-600 for utilities, but that's 260m2 to heat.
I would very much want to live in Greenland for some 3 months, as me and my husband can work from everywhere with internet connection, but this sounds crazy. I know every country has it's own prices, but this is like wow.... If we don't want to lose our house, we have to pay for rent in here + for an apartment in Greenland, and I mean, a pocket size apartment, this plan to visit Greenland for more than a week sounds a bit impossible.
I knew the prices were high, but it's good to know how high they are. Very educational. I hate that everywhere it's cold it's also expensive or... Russia. Even in south, like Falkland islands :(
Spending some time in deep North is expensive no matter where I look.
I am just whining, nobody is responsible for that. I just hate heat and sandy beaches and palm trees everyone so loves, but seems like it's way more affordable to find a place like that. It's just not my type of "paradise" :(

Im actually considering checking greenland out cause i saw job listings to empty fish nets or something and i want to try something new in a new place. But im quite scared theyre gonna want to shove me into a 2 room apartment with like 7 other foreign labor dudes xD

    Hej Alex
    Christian Rink Pedersen

      Hej Christian

Hi Alex, I don't know if you're going to read this or even less reply, but I wanted to talk about how I would love to live there in Greenland, or at least spend some time there and understand how things work.
Well, in short, I'm a Brazilian who dreams of spending time in a country as far away as Greenland. I've been researching about it and saw different ticket prices, but the main problem is the cost of living there. I don't know if it's a more expensive or more difficult country to live in than Brazil. I've done a lot of research but there's very little information related to Brazil and Greenland.
I wonder if the cost of living there is too high. Things like rent, accommodation, food and everything else, and especially, if they only accept the Danish Krone as purchase currency or if they accept other foreign currencies as well.
Well, if you see this, or someone who can answer my questions, I would greatly appreciate it.

    • @AlexAmasaOlsen

      Hi!
It is fairly pricey to live in Nuuk, Greenland.
You would most likely be able to live cheaper in Sisimiut, or other towns. Best of luck!:-)

@@AlexAmasaOlsenGood to know. Thanks for answering me and thanks for the tip. I imagine that life in such a remote place is difficult, even more so for a Brazilian to want to live there, but if I believe and make an effort, maybe my dream will come true ;)
