    Be careful when you open your break fluid cap the seal fell out and landed somewhere in the engine and I tried turning the car on and it didn't turn on it said on the dash (Low Oil Pressure) I used a ziplock sandwich bag on the cap and it worked.

      It should be on your valve cover facing the firewall, closer to the passenger side. Yes, you can do it yourself. It's pretty easy, just can be a pain to reach.

    The rubber above the master that was blocking you funnel pops outs easily for adding fluid

    Can this procedure also can be applied to my 2014 lincoln Seda?

    • @SmoknJaysGarage
      @SmoknJaysGarage  2 роки тому

      Yes it can. Depending on your model, your filter and drain plug location may differ. But the process is the same.

    I’m trying to change a 2016 eco boost mkx oil filter and cannot find it under my car. Every mkx has the filter like the one in ur video but my filter somehow isn’t there. Any idea where it is?

      I believe there is guard (skid plate) in the front of yours. That would need to be removed to get to the oil filter. I think it's a T30 bit to remove the skid plate, but im not positive.

    Will this work on my 2010 lincoln mkt?

    • @SmoknJaysGarage

      I don't know off hand if the oil filter and the number of qts of oil will be the same on you vehicle. You'll have to double check what yours calls for. Otherwise yes, the process will be the same.

    Very good oil filter but I don’t know about the oil.
    I have a 2011 MKX and I use Full Synthetic Pentosin 0w-20 or Eneos 0w-20 it gives me between 3% or 5% better MPG than 5w-20 and I get a smoother cold start. Great video by the way.

      0w-20 will be thinner in the winter. For summer, I don't think there will be a difference. I use synthetic, but tend to use the cheaper store brands. I change it every 5k miles or less. So while the more expensive brands claim longer life, I don't think I'd get the value out of them. That's just me though.

      @@SmoknJaysGarage Thanks for your quick reply, with the oils I use I go between 7.5k or 10k miles no sweat specially with Pentosin and if your engine is in good shape you don’t have to even refill in that Oil Change Interval. At the end of the day saving 5% on fuel plus extending your OCI you end up paying the same or even less.
      I have owned my MKX for many years and it’s still going strong. KEEP THE GOOD WORK.

      @@robertogomez8100 my concern with going that long, is how the filter holds up. Modern synthetic oil seems to hold up fine up to those miles. It's the filter that worries me. Even a quality filter seems to look pretty crushed and worn after 5k. But maybe that's me over thinking it. Seems to be working fine for you.

      @@SmoknJaysGarage The K&N white oil filter that you're using would work fine for 7.5k or 10k miles, if you're concerned about that don't go over 8k miles I think you'll be ok. What has worked for me really good is Bosch Premium oil filter and it's not expensive, right now I'm trying STP Extended Life that claims to be good up to 16k miles so 8k miles shouldn't be a problem and it's under $10.00 at Autozone.
