I love the IJN torp line. More than half of my kills are gun kills. A few things to remember with their guns. The turrets are like battleship turrets. Pre-aim them. Don't miss. You need first round hits and every volley after it has to hit. Finish off the wounded. They do hit hard but you won't win against a full health gun boat.
@@a.l.e.x8118 It really depends on your play style. I don't do well with short range torps. I definitely prefer the 20s or 12s. Whatever is available on the ship. Because of their versatility. I'm very good at predicting lanes and where the other side is going. My torps are timed to arrive when they do. They are forced to maneuver against the torps or get hit. Either way it tends to spoil their plans. I, of course, do take mods and skills to boost speed and reload.
I really despise these torp spammer players who almost never use their guns in their DDs. They basically rely on the most skillless in-game mechanic to do damage and kills. Sadly people without mini-map awareness still manage to allow them to achieve their goals.

You could tell as soon as the King George's spotter plane was seen where he was off to. When I was a more active player the rule of thumb I followed for finding battleships was look for a spotter plane
As to what the Italians are doing with a French ship, while the Germans were the ones to try and seize the fleet at Toulon, it was the Italians who salvaged what could be recovered and began to refit them. The destroyer Lion which was part of the Guepard class was one of the few vessels seized intact and was handed over to the Italians and served as the FR 21 before the Italians scuttled it to prevent capture by the Germans in 1943. I believe that is what the FR 25 is supposed to represent
We actually had a second french Guepard class too, Valmy, renamed FR24, but it was still refitting at the time of the Armistice, since it was one of the successfully scuttled ships at Toulon. I guess Wargaming though "what if they had a third one?" Upon further - albeit basic - research, at least one more destroyer was in Italian hands, albeit very shortly. Italian salvage specialist had just started their work on the namesake of the class itself when the Armistice was announced. Another destroyer of the same class, Verdun, was broken up in Italy after ther war, but it was refloated after the Armistice, so I don't know if some italians had something to do with that. It is certainly possible that after the Armistice and the creation of the Italian Social Republic, the Republican Navy tried to refloat and refit some of the french scuttled ship, to create at least a token non-coastal fleet out of nothing, since nearly the whole Navy accepted the Armistice and joined the Kingdom of the South.

The Germans for sure scuttled it in Genoa to block the port and prevent the Allies from having a big harbour closer to the front. They weren't interested in putting precious resources into refitting ships for the Mediterranean theatre, and understandably so. So it's either two or three scuttling for that ship.

Taking D was perfectly safe. 3 enemy ships, 2 were spotted, and C was being flipped by someone that wasn't spotted; the KG5 had to be the one in C. Also, can we get a round of applause for the Velikiy, who earned 87 XP on a win? Pro-level gaming right there

They didn't get much use from them though, as Italy surrendered before they could be repaired. But it is at least a semi-historical ship, which is pretty good by WG standards.
Those DDs... First the Fubuki who misses the opportunity to shoot at TC when he was hydroed. Then the Gaede who misses the opportunity to shoot at him when he himself hydros him. No wonder there is so many more plebs in the game than2 years ago.
Damn, I want me one of these FR.25s! But I don't play any more. Used to play V-25 and do this kind of thing at tier II. It's cool to see Paolo Emilio get scaled down to tier VII, that looks really fun. Tier V-VII is where all the action is, lol Note how TopCat barely bothers shooting at the Okty. That's not because he's certain he'll get a torp kill, it's because the Okty's armor is too heavy for 127mm (+/-) guns. If you're in mid-tier and you need to shoot HE or SAP at a Russian battleship, pro tip: shoot the stern. It's the only place you're likely not to shatter. Just remember to switch to other locations and pray for fires once you damage-saturate that small stern area. Also, tier IV-V DDs should remember, just because an Okty isn't looking at you, doesn't always mean he doesn't have *any* turrets pointing at you, and his secondaries are perfectly adequate and CAN sink you if you get too close or spend too much time within range. Racked up a lot of DD kills in my Okty, just by doing torpedobeats.

Italy invaded France in 1940 but they did basically nothing other than tying some french troops in the Alps (the invasion lasted 15 days until France surrendered to Germany and the french only had around 300 casualties here). Edit: furthermore, 2 destroyers of the Guépard class were given to Italy by the Germans and renamed FR21 and FR24.
The Italians were opprotunist like in the First World War. They waited to see who was winning before throwing their lot in with Germany and effectively beat a dead horse as France wasn't going to last much longer. Also the scuttling Jingles mentioned at Toulon happened two years later when Germany initiated Case Anton the invasion of Vichy France.

Granted they stayed in the back most of the time but did eventually move up into the cap circle on the enemies side of the map. I'd have thought even 1 overpen or just secondary hits alone would at least have put them above 100 base xp. Guess not.
When he started to flip D cap, he was about 1/4 behind the C cap flipping. Then you can tell that the C cap progress picks up meaning there are now two enemy ships in that cap.
well no the FR 25 exist in real live under the name of FR 24 (ex Valmy) who was a Guèpard class captured and modificated by Italy. So the only "never existed" thing is the name, FR 25

"people" also say , that the entire italian dd line is bad and that is because "people" in general, but especially in wows, are not very smart, lazy and ..hum..mediocre at best in anything they do (that said i would agree, that the line gets increasingly less effective and awkward to play from T8 upwards). The FR25 is a ship i'd really like to have (that and the Smalland, which will never happen, because not even WeGee will bringTHAT broken ship back in any other form than crates and i dont buy those...so there is that). I particullary liked how he didnt smoke up at the start despite being spotted by the sub. Balls, matchplan + map awarness equals a good player - well done TC o/

An Italian DD charging at you in a cloud of high speed smoke strongly reminds me of that vintage horror movie titled "The Fog"... It works pretty much in the same way with just the same amount of fear and death. :)
That PV though...The most busted T5 tech tree BB in the game, a ship well suited to fight in T7 matches thx to its BS armor and guns, not AFK and yet just gets 87 base EP despite staying alive? WTF??? How? How is this even possible? This goes beyond criminally misplaying! This should be impossible! JC i'ld be raging at this player...
Could have known where the KG5 was all the time. Only 3 enemies left, cap was running, two ships spottet outside cap circle. So, where could the KG5 possibly be???
I actually thing CB's with hidden enemy ships would be really cool. You don't know what ships the opposing clan is bringing until you visually spot them in battle. This would definitely make CB's very challenging for both teams especially if you bring in something with great stealth like a Shimakaze and are able to stay undetected throughout the whole battle.
And "Jepard" instead of "Guepard". The G is not an affricate, but a plosive, which is why it is written with a "u", which stays silent. It would be an affricate if the spelling was "Gepard". Italian uses an h instead of the u, while Spanish does the same as French, so "Ghibellini" and "guerrilla", where no h or u is pronounced.
What the Hell...Actually Jingles, with regards to a French destroyer in Italian hands following the scuttling of the French fleet at Toulon, it was actually the Italians who did most of the work of salvaging and intended to use the ships; The Kriegsmarine was not keen to deal with a scuttled fleet. Italian plans were thwarted by their premature defeat less than a year later, but if things had gone better (and fuel found to run them), Italy expected to have several French destroyers and a handful of cruisers under the Italian flag by 1944.
The name FR25 never made sense to me. Italians didn't have a ship named FR25. They did however have an FR24, which was an french Guepard-class destroyer that Italians salvaged and started repairs on.
Every Sunday TC is on twitch i watch the stream more or less i am lurking because i have to play some battles too, in wows and i suport his salt free child friendly stream he is indeed the most friendly of all ❤

"people" also say , that the entire italian dd line is bad and that is because "people" in general, but especially in wows, are not very smart, lazy and ..hum..mediocre at best in anything they do (that said i would agree, that the line gets increasingly less effective and awkward to play from T8 upwards).
The FR25 is a ship i'd really like to have (that and the Smalland, which will never happen, because not even WeGee will bringTHAT broken ship back in any other form than crates and i dont buy those...so there is that).
I particullary liked how he didnt smoke up at the start despite being spotted by the sub.

An Italian DD charging at you in a cloud of high speed smoke strongly reminds me of that vintage horror movie titled "The Fog"... It works pretty much in the same way with just the same amount of fear and death. :)
That PV though...The most busted T5 tech tree BB in the game, a ship well suited to fight in T7 matches thx to its BS armor and guns, not AFK and yet just gets 87 base EP despite staying alive? WTF??? How? How is this even possible? This goes beyond criminally misplaying! This should be impossible! JC i'ld be raging at this player...
Could have known where the KG5 was all the time. Only 3 enemies left, cap was running, two ships spottet outside cap circle. So, where could the KG5 possibly be???

I actually thing CB's with hidden enemy ships would be really cool. You don't know what ships the opposing clan is bringing until you visually spot them in battle. This would definitely make CB's very challenging for both teams especially if you bring in something with great stealth like a Shimakaze and are able to stay undetected throughout the whole battle.
Finally, new episode of butchering ship names, today it's Lazo once again, turning into Italian ''Latso'' all of a sudden
And "Jepard" instead of "Guepard". The G is not an affricate, but a plosive, which is why it is written with a "u", which stays silent. It would be an affricate if the spelling was "Gepard". Italian uses an h instead of the u, while Spanish does the same as French, so "Ghibellini" and "guerrilla", where no h or u is pronounced.
What the Hell...Actually Jingles, with regards to a French destroyer in Italian hands following the scuttling of the French fleet at Toulon, it was actually the Italians who did most of the work of salvaging and intended to use the ships; The Kriegsmarine was not keen to deal with a scuttled fleet. Italian plans were thwarted by their premature defeat less than a year later, but if things had gone better (and fuel found to run them), Italy expected to have several French destroyers and a handful of cruisers under the Italian flag by 1944.
Actually italy was occupaying France as well (the Southeast) and they were salvaging and using captured french warships

The name FR25 never made sense to me. Italians didn't have a ship named FR25.
They did however have an FR24, which was an french Guepard-class destroyer that Italians salvaged and started repairs on.
