- Final Fantasy XV sad moment between Lunafraya and Noctis! SPOILER if you are not up to this part. Ardyn Izunia kills Lunafreya during the battle in Leviathan.
This death scene is beautiful, but it’s a shame we didn’t see Luna actually develop into a main character like she was supposed to be. I was only sad at this part because I felt bad for Noctis.
yeah. that was the worst part. But the ending was really good though.
exactly! this story and the ending had amazing feel potential, but somehow the execution wasn't perfect
I remember seeing all the trailers when the game was still called FFVSXIII and even when it was turned into FFXV before Kingsglaive, it looked amazing and like a true FF. Unfortunately I have to say the game disappointed me. It felt like an incomplete game that was rushed so they could just finish it up and finally release it. This scene was probably what I enjoyed the most of the game.
@@tomasgomez9925 couldn't have said it better myself
Isn't this like 3 of the 15 min Luna has in the game? 😀
This is the moment when you realize that this game is beautiful even in 2020
This game will be beautiful even in 2050 when we have 15 more Final Fantasies to compare to
@@muhhamadavdol3781 if we make it to 2050 then yes lol
@@socunt Ive made it a personal goal to survive til 2077 then when cyberpunk is finally a complete game I can die in peace
2021 too
I mean it is but this video is pre-rendered… so it’s not the graphics of the game
I wish they kept that windy 'sigh' in the soundtrack, when her dress grows in length. It sounds SO MAGICAL to hear it with the music.
so true
I feel that way about a lot of soundtracks. When I was little, I used to go to sleep with a recording of Little Mermaid and I got the soundtrack for Christmas that year. It wasn't the same, because certain non-song parts got taken out (like the gasp at the end of the daughters of Triton song) That's when my love-hate relationship with soundtracks began.
@Jaz Jaz I hope you found it since then but it is 'Luna'!
I think it plays alot in ff13-2 when you open up shops?
It’s still there if you listen
Square Enix really know how to make their cutscenes ridiculously beautiful. Have you guys seen Kingsglaive? It's a masterpiece
I love CGI. ☺️
Although this scene was made by Square Enix Image Production (formerly named as Visual Works), while the movie was made by its director with another 50 companies. Even so I must to say that the direction and design of Visual Works cutscenes is even better, majestic.
She barely got development, but this scene hit so damn hard. Fighting so hard to come up short. I almost break down hearing kid Noctis say all I wanted was to save you.
She didn't come up short man, she fulfilled her purpose, at a great cost yes, but she did what was suppose to.
"farewell dear Noctis" is the saddest word.😭
"and Luna?" ...
No, for me is "... would that I could join you ... but this moment would have to be enough...." oh men.....
@@loudestcloudy she has passed.
For me was.... it's not right all i wanted was to save you
Word?
When Luna says “farewell dear Noctis” and Noctis still tries to reach for her as he cries completely broke my heart.
This scene was so beautiful. I absolutely loved the transition of little Noctis to big Noctis. Very smooth and the acting was great. I've heard it in both JP and ENG. Both are good. ^^
It's a shame that this game failed miserably at giving Lunafreya some character development... I felt bad for her but my heart definitely only broke for Noctis during this scene. That desperate gasp (and I think you can hear him say "I can't") at around 2:36 really hit me.
oh my gosh yea like i didnt feel bad for her but more noctis cause she was like ehhh she didnt have like a really strong impression on me
Thats the entire point. The whole game is a story about Noctis perspective pain. I wish more people understood this.
Watch the movie, u will feel more love towards her
@@XRedfield331 There's a movie ?
@@lucylerma8211 Yes, it’s called Kingsglaive! From what I remember, it sets things up for FFXV and takes place prior to Noctis’s and the other’s journey.
People are gonna kill me if I admit this was my favourite final fantasy game
overhated
no shame, by far my favorite. the chemistry between the characters was seamless. Beautiful soundtrack, fun gameplay and by far the best and most developed base cast out of all the games. FF7 is heavily overrated, overshadows beautiful works like FFXV.
"All I wanted was to save you" has a deep meaning come to think of it
All Players of FF franchises wanted to save their beloved characters from their fate
Aerith, Galuf, Tidus and so many more
When I realized that I 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺
The one who wrote this line for Noctis to say it proves that he understood our feelings towards this game and its characters... And to think they gave this line to someone as relatable as humane as Noctis hits hard to the core of our hearts
Even Luna when she said that this moment has to be enough is the moment when we last see our loved ones is true once they leave there is no turning back...
Been replaying through XV recently and I just got to this part today. I knew it was gonna happen, but I still cried like a baby.
same when I got to this point 😂
I never played this game, yet I am incredibly curious about the story. This scene shattered my heart into pieces, after realizing, what exactly the bond between Luna and Noctis is. I couldn't stop crying, but I need to say, I really don't regret it
Please do buy it!! And do yourself a favor: buy the Royal Edition if you have enough money :D you get more content that way!
@@mashollings ouuu interesting. Thanks for that information :D
That animation is godlike!
I absolutely love Luna because even tho she is criminally underdeveloped I remember the fact that while Noct is screwing around making cup noodles with Gladio this poor girl is trying to figure out a way to keep her people safe and actually move the plot forward.
Remember: Noctis is only screwing around making cup noodles if you MAKE him do that. Technically you can be just as focused on the goal as she is
I feel bad for laughing at the cup noodles 😭💀 but Noctis deserves some fun, his life sucks lol
No bcs i realised thats kinda true, now that i think about it, luna is a pretty character, i did prefer stella/sarah over her for noctis but she was so beautiful, she deserves better man😭
She was in the movie enough to understand enough about a princess upbringing 🙄
The point is, this is a story with a romeo and juliet undertone combined with the narrative of a fairy tale. The impact comes from understanding that narrative of the distance in love and that when they were able to be together, death separated them again.
Noctis and Luna are a great couple but their story was a tragedy and one of those that leaves you empty.
That's not a bad thing, fans are just used to FF characters being like Yuna or Tidus when it comes to a romantic plot and not all love stories are told like that.
Except Tidus and Yuna had an alternate sad ending and before them was Cloud and Aerith although the Clotis love to deny them even if every other tragic couple is acknowledged 😅
THANK YOU!!! Exactly! Everyone says "Luna was SUPPOSED to be in the game more", but it was very clearly a narrative choice to make you feel Noctis's distance and longing. People want this perfect scenario, but as you said, it's a tragedy. It's supposed to be painful.
Thank you!! So tired of everyone trashing this couple, and undermining the romance, as if it was forced, or political.
The whole point was that they were star crossed bombarded by so many obstacles, that without getting to see, and say the words face to face, they loved each other with the same intensity. They were just never able to express it, for their own reasons.
still come back to here to see this scene, and realized that when she gives noctis the flower, a tear falls from her left eye and symbolizes pain. the waves ebb and flow leaving noctis unable to reach her as the passing of her time and not his yet
the clean transition of noctis going from a child to an adult is underrated
The way the VA did Noctis voice breaking when he says “all I wanted to do was save you” always gets me
Me too he deserves an award 🏆
Still kills me in 2022, even two years later.
😢🥺
Believe it or not, final fantasy 15 was the first game to actually make me cry, i always loved games and characters but i never ever cried in any games over a character or sad thing, yet final fantasy 15 somehow was unique, i didnt play it or know the full lore but its sad and beautiful, I also noticed how i relate abit to noctis, having trouble to express my feelings and self and always trying to be happy and yet unexpected things come and make sad and unable to speak how i feel, but still i gladly fought, Noctis is a character i kin, such a lovely and nice character.
Real man
When he starts crying and you see her gently try to move toward him, but finds that she can't move...crushing
"This is my sad an tear breaking death scene, and everyone will remember me as a very important character"

Such a beautiful character honestly. I’m so sad they didn’t get the best ending … nonetheless a beautiful story for such an incredible game.
Honestly Final Fantasy brings tears to me eyes Jesus. I love the stories they put out… even the time paradox I don’t even understand. Lol
There’s always the Ultima ending. 🥲 Our King gets to live on with his Queen. But man this one hurt.
This scene is so emotional despite the fact she had no development, is her character was done better this scene would have had even more impact
Don't worry, with Verum Rex she will have more impact xD
@@EdgeyStyle Stella isn't Luna
2024 again and I still have tears watching this scene...
This was horrible the game got me so emotionally involved that by the time it happened I didn't know what to do with myself.
Traveling there and expecting to save her just for it to be in vain completely diverted my expectations. A lot of this game was so dark and bleak too, Prompto being a synthetic grown human like in Blade Runner with others modeled with the same likeness was a total mindfuck that came outta left field. Made me question what it means to be human and how much a natural biological birth actually factors into that. This game had it's fair share of criticisms, but it went very in depth with it's sci-fi concepts to an uncanny level that kinda freaked me out and induced ego death
Lunafreya is absolutely amazing 💕
She's gone... and everything is darkness...
This game’s story was disappointing but the cutscenes were godly.
Disappointing, in what universe do you reside?
@@alianouer8619 the logical one
I guess I'm one of the few who actually like the story...I've waited since XIII Versus trailers for this game, and while I was disappointed by what FXV became, I actually was satisfied with the story bc I'd rather have a target to blame for the tragedies (i.e. the gods, prophecies, and humans. eff them all). Not trying to sound edgy, but tragedies make good stories.
I agree. These cutscenes are the proof of the epicness the game was meant to be if it wasn’t stuck in development hell.
I actually did also find this story disappointing. The cracks from the fact that they tried to re-write but also keep parts of Nomura's original vision are blatant, and too many parts are written way too fast. Also, that time skip at the very end was super pointless and added nothing other than a "gotcha" moment for me.
Lunafreya was brought back by Bahamut and became the Deamon-Queen, Noctis crowned Ardyn the True King and the Gang went to saved Luna and defeat Bahamut together.
I wished my bed hair looked like that-
Luna's death scene is breathtakingly made that you just have to come back even though it makes you sobbing.
Yes the voice acting, the whole sequence is epic and sad at the same time
I was playing FF15 for the first time and when I reached fantasy Venice I told myself: "It would be so cool and romantic for Noctis to have a walk with Lunafreya on these streets at night". But no, someone at SE decided to deny those 2 a simple moment together.
I feel sorry for Noctis Lucis Caelum and I can't believe He's Crying in order to get Lunafreya back. 😔
This might sound a bit ridiculous, but this whole scene (0:00 - 2:58) feels like Noctis and Lunafreya are actually in the Final World (the afterlife realm in Kingdom Hearts 3), or rather the XV version of said realm.
Or ffviii flower place
Always cry while watching this :c
I come back to this and my heart breaks that's for years they have been exchanging messages through that journal and that Luna predicted her death so she sent him the flower much like in their last goodbye together.
It's so beautiful but painful. They cared deeply for eachother though she wasn't allowed to leave her home due to being held hostage so that journal was the best they can do aaaaaaahgh.
I will never forget this scene . So Beautiful ❤
Also her doggo Pryna died alongside her, as Ignis witnessed it.
I feel sorry for Lunafreya and She sacrifice herself to save Noctis life without question that no one is here to save her at this time! 😔
The most liberating and saddest scene I’ve ever encountered.
I can't think of a single Final Fantasy game that I didn't get hurt
Go watch Aerith's Death, It's worse than this one.
Maybe FF XII? It also has its tragedies, but its more of a political story than a character-driven one.
I remember when I played the game I was alone in the basement one night when I got to this scene and I just cried and cried
This scene 😭 amazing
Love Luna and Noctis
omg.. that accent is perfect for the dub
As a grown man. I’ve never choked up so much to a scene. There is inspiration within death.
this is the genius of FFXV. Even if you know you are missing something greater because of its chaotic development, FFXV gives you the most powerful FF scene (even more FFX ending that I trully love!!!)
When Aerith died in FF7 I cried, when Luna died I was like "oh well". I barely even knew Luna as a character, her background, lack of screentime, development and I even forgot her name several times. Not a memorable character to me and I don't hate her, I'm just not attached and don't know her enough to even care. She was like "Hello nice to meet you~", then she died.
Had you ever watch the movie before playing the game?
@@bytes021 the Luna with a British face? They were so busy escaping I still barely knew her.
The story isn't knowing who she was, it was knowing what she meant to Noct. Yeah, she doesn't get background or any of that, but the important point is that the childhood years of Noct, and growing up thinking this is your wife, you're going to be with her forever and she is gentle as hell as much as we see of her. Then she dies in your arms, she was a plot point yes, but it's a different type of death than Aerith.
@@bytes021 you mean the movie that should have been part of the game then.
who's Aerith? I played the original FF7 and the remake but I only know Tifa.
Bruh why was this scene so pretty? The graphics are amazing
I noticed most of the comments are mainly sad for Noctis and not Luna. Which is just... kinda sad in another way. This scene would have hit different if Luna has been giving more meaningful interactions with us players and Noctis. Not this. Kinda pen pal the game kept telling you Noctis is totally in love with. Just see how hard the ending of ffx, it never fails to make you sad because of how much the game build up the relationship of Tidus and Yuna, and us players. It wouldn't have been as effective if ffx were to be Luna'd
This scene is beautiful
I know it’s up for interpretation but this reminds me of the ending of 8 with squall.
I remember also, part when Squall questioning "I'm I all alone?" really feel his desperation at that time ... but then feel funny tho as at begining he said to Quistis, when she want him to just to hear, but he reply "Then go talk to a wall" ... not to mention also that Squall constantly throw "whatever..." (don't care) 😂
This $#!☆ was so beautiful, I wanted to cry ❤😢
Not gonna cry, not gonna cry, not gonna cry

FFFUUUUU-
:( This scene killing me last night, 2 a.m in the morning

Ahh.. this gave me goosebumps
FFXV story was based into an Bro who goes to his marriage. Bro returned with a new level of depression unlocked ¬¬'
You do realize that Luna Freya's death is basically Aerith's Death from VII Right?
I just cried a lot on that moment when I bought this game on my PS4
I want to play this again
a great character that died too soon. still a gut wrenching scene
Its not the dialog that gets me its Noctis reaching out desperately to luna that makes me cry.
They didn't use Luna properly, even if you watched the anime and the movie, she feels empty as a character. When she died here I was like "Well, she died, that sucks", but that's it. It's not the same when Galuf died, he was tanking all of Exdeath's best spells, Meteor, Holy and so on. The dude stood his ground by just sheer will. Even Exdeath was puzzled by this, but Galuf was enough to make Exdeath spare the heroes.
i cry :(
i don't really like the battle system, but i have to say.. the story is really good.
i don't play final fantasy but i hoping one day though. i just watch some cut scene and literally not enough for me to understand the whole game story, however, i really feel bad for noctis ::(( esp after i learned he died as well in the end
I love this game!!!!
Whoever the kid who did this At 29 years old I cried the same way bat least noctisez father was worthy
I haven't olayed the game but I've watched gameplays, and I just learned that she dies. Like come on whyyyyyyy They were so wholesome together
god I cry here so much
I am so upset that I could not find this game enjoyable. It is so beautiful visually. When Lunafreya died I remember feeling like when I finished Silent Hill for the first time... I had no idea what happened.

I don't understand what's their expectation too, maybe want Luna to also join the party, doing campfire and fight all the enemies 😅... or even more after fight along then can die later so the emotion is equal with Aerith's death?
I think this short cutscene is just self explained and we saw some admiring/hearthbreaking without even playing the game

I was a mess during this whole sequence. I fucking love this game idgaf what others think.
If this is the Snyder Cut of Final Fantasy XV, Noctis would rather express anger and yell at Ignis for trying to protect his life
Ignis: Back with us? I’ll tell the others, though it may take a bit.
Noctis: You’re hurt...
Ignis: A smaller sacrifice for the greater battle.
Noctis: And Luna?
Ignis: She has passed.
Noctis: Why?
Ignis: Umbra left that for you.
Noctis: Are you kidding me?! That’s exactly why I have to keep going-because if I give up now, their sacrifices would have been for nothing!
This cutsence really hurt me 😢😭
Directors cut fixed it a bit but I wasn't that sad about Lunafreyas death the first time because I barely knew who she was.
I miss everyone.
Too bad we don’t get to see much of Luna to hacer for her
this legit could have made me cry if i didint fart halfway through........
Imagine of their relationship was fully developed. This scene would have killed me harder. I feel the devs gave us an incomplete game and it's a shame cause I liked the characters and story. They even canceled the dlcs.
Truthfully I don't mind that square replaced versus 13's story with this. I know that this game is not perfect but it worked fine for me. But this is the one major plotline of the story that I absolutely loath. It's like the developers didn't WANT to develop Luna's character and just killed her off. If Tetsuya Nomura had worked on this I have no doubt that the story could have been much MUCH better
I always hate the moment when my favorit heroine death😡😡😡
this scene made me cry cause i could relateto noct and that made me cry
also: music is so good
Lunafreya had a British accent in the English?
