Beauty. Been on my short list for literal decades. ive been stuck in cost and utility mode. Owned 6 diesels 3 golf 3 Jetta. All high mileage. Got a golf 2.5NA now. Astounded by the handling. Like you 3 daughters and wife. One day. Feeling your video. Thanks
Thanks brother I appreciate it, and kudos to you cause I know how challenging life can be with a wife and three daughters lol we're blessed though, I hope you get the car you want really soon.
Their opinions are theirs. You buy what you want and enjoy. I have owned 19 NSX, 16 GTR, 15 M4 Convertible, and 18 MX5 which I sold but MX5 was the best fun car to drive. Now I’m looking into GTI or MX5 for my fun weekend drive.
I'm the first to leave a real comment I miss the camaro and the STI but I think the cars you have now makes the most sense do you plan on modding soon?
LMAO Yup you are and yeah I miss them too but these just fit me better for where I am in life right now, and yes I will be modding the GTI soon followed by the Type R.
I would you rather do 5000km instead of miles. As you know how turbos cook engine oil especially with highly boosted engines. I do this with my normal daily car and my special daily.
@@RaceCarFriends Right on, thanks. Yeah I'm thinking about going with the DSG since it'll be my primary commuter, although going with the last model with a manual is tempting
@@RaceCarFriends I may cross over into the VW world. The GR Corolla’s been fine, but there’s a big world of other things to try out there. We’ll see if I want to give it up though.
@@RaceCarFriends The GRC had too much hype behind it, and I got ripped off. They’re going for MSRP, or less and with more features. Less scrambling. Now I just need to see if they’re going to produce anymore, I’ve have my eyes on the Type R as well if I can nab one. They’re super hard to find.
@@DBX79 Yup I agree I felt really let down after test driving it, If you want the more sporty and fun vehicle I'd say go Type R, if you want to do a lot of modding and have fun making a car your own while also being practical then go Golf R/GTI.
I am curious on maintenence cost of gti vs type r. Thinking euro parts and everything else going to be more expensive on the GTI. Guessing the civic will be more reliable also in the long run. GTI is a beautiful car but German cars demand more care and VW always seem to have weird stuff that shows up.
Right now they're both the same, free oil changes for two years, and tbh the parts on the GTI are pretty inexpensive probably costs less than the Type R.
Beautiful car bro..its fast and really fun car . In short its a sleeper..😂
Thanks brother appreciate it and yup I agree it's the ultimate sleeper in my opinion.

recently just got the gti 380, excited to follow your journey and see what kind of beast you turn your gti into.
Nice congratulations! I have a couple of mods coming soon!
I love your car. I had one in Black too. So comfortable.
Thanks brother and yes it really is a great all around car, really hard to beat.

Yup I agree thanks for the advice much appreciated.
That downshift and pull was a treat. Gotta love the V Dubs. I still want a Golf R
Lol man you and I both brother I just want a MK7.5 Golf R not the MK8 version.

I like the GTI but I really want to see you do a video like this for the Type R
Lol cool will do.
This car is beautiful. Please make sure you change oil every 5k miles. Give a try to Motul oil, you will hear the difference in the engine. Congrats!
Thanks I appreciate it and I will gonna call and schedule my oil change ASAP!

Great video! I'm thinking about getting the 2025 when it comes out. Are GTIs reliable in your experience?
Thanks I appreciate it, and yeah the MK7's and MK8's have been pretty solid, I'm guessing that you prefer DSG?
@@RaceCarFriends Right on, thanks. Yeah I'm thinking about going with the DSG since it'll be my primary commuter, although going with the last model with a manual is tempting
You're welcome and yup I think you'll be happy either way.
That pull at the end though 🚗
😆
Economical , practical , fun and a classy look. I have a smaller family than yours , so its my only car. 😀
Yup it's the perfect enthusiast/family car I love it!
Whoa brotha, I didn’t know you were that big from the video. I thought you were maybe 6’2. Anyway, at that size does the GTI work well for you.
Lol yup I did a whole video showing my height, and yup the GTI fits perfectly 😆

@@DBX79 Do it you'll be happy that you did, the aftermarket support is immense and everything just works seamlessly.

Shout out to Florida! One of the last states to get almost everything right! Moving out there soon!
Facts and that's great news we welcome you brother!

I’m torn on this 380S edition or get a 2025 dsg which is supposed to have more power. GLI also supposedly getting redesigned for 25.
I highly highly recommend getting a 380 S.
Maaan I gotta get my hands on a gti 380, the fact that the 6mt’s are getting phased out for next year is stressing me out 😮💨
Trust me I know the feeling that's why I rushed to go get mine lol.
Getting mine soon, good vid
Awesome congratulations! And thanks I appreciate it.
We have the same taste in cars.
Haha nice thanks brother!
Nice video! Keep them coming!
Thanks a lot will do!
