  • My first ride on a 600cc supersport bike, and I'm actually very glad it was a CBR! These bikes have been around for a very long time, and although starting to show their age a bit, they're still fantastic motorcycles. Thank you MD SuperSport Rider for letting me take out this beast!

    People who put down CBR’s have never ridden one. They are unbelievably smooth, comfortable and reliable. You can run peanut like through that motor and it will still go 100,000 miles.

    I know this is an older video, but I love my cbr600rr. 2013, cherry red, toce exhaust, super smooth around the city and launches like a rocket at high rpms. It's a fantastic super sport bike for someone looking to get on a super sport

    They haven't been leading the way over recent years, but out of the Japanese boys I'm a Honda man. My VFR was bullet proof the V4 is stunning. Honda is quality merchandise. And when they get it right their bikes are unbeatable. I had an 09 Blade without any rider aids, but was just so balanced very linear power delivery I loved it. I am very interested in the upcoming new Blade.

    • @DukeOfDC

      Honda might take some time to get there, but when they do, it's with a bike that just plain works lol. I am also very interested in the new Blade! Sooo many sweet new bits and bobs

    As for the jerkiness of the throttle it's normal as you never rode a super sport bike. You just need some hours to ride to "tune your hand muscles" to treat that throttle and make the bike respect you ;)
    It's obvious you are very impressed with bike's behaviour. Your Tuono is much smoother as i can see in your videos.
    The CBR1000RR is a another animal. The engine feels to have much more power specially at low and midrange. If you try it once keep that in mind ;)
    Nice review

    You hit it on the nose. Just bought a 2023 CBR 600RR. It’s comfortable love no rider aids great bike just to rack up miles and look good. At a glance it looks like the fireblade takes a trained eye to know that your not on a liter bike. Overall great in town ride smooth and more than enough power for almost all of us. It will definitely get you in some serious trouble stock.

    Cool sound effect at 5:56, haha. The first supersport I rode was a '15 Ninja 636, love that bike as well. When I got back on the BMW I was saying wth why are these handlebars so damn high.

    • @DukeOfDC
      @DukeOfDC  8 років тому +1

      Hahaha the sound of straight up fear. I need to get my hands on the ninja 636. Dude also, I just watched your video tearing it up through the mountains on with the Ninja 300 guy and jesus you ride hard haha. Train me lol

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider 8 років тому +1

      +DukeOfDC the best is training at your own pace man, without anyone pushing too far out of your comfort zone. This is my 13th month riding, but when I started I did a lot of practicing in parking lots (as seen in my older videos) . Considering my first bike was 1050cc without TC/ABS and lots of torque, I think I fared okay, smaller bikes are much easier to practice on.

    • @DukeOfDC
      @DukeOfDC  8 років тому +1

      Cuban Rider You're easily one of the best riders I've seen in the motovlog game right now. I'll have to get out to a big parking lot and run through some drills on the Tuono.

    • @CubanRider
      @CubanRider 8 років тому +1

      Let me know if you find a good location, I'll run up there and join you. Q3s are perfect for training, they kept me upright when I made less than smooth maneuvers.

    after watching 30+ cbr reviews it comes down to one word.
    SMOOOOOOTH.
    Owning one, I agree. No bike comes anywhere close to the overall perfection and predictable delivery of the CBR. All through their engine range. Makes for great stability accelerating through corners. Left my friends Kawi for dead and his is ten years newer.

    Yes you can tour on a 600cc or 1000cc sport bike. Like you said, a strong core helps or a lot of Advil. I toured on my R1 for 8 years and prior to that a CBR900RR for 9 years - the most rewarding years in my riding career.

    The CBR’s are known for that touchy zero to quarter throttle action. It’s jerky at that point. But anything over quarter throttle it’s smooth as silk. I’ve only ever owned 600cc sport bikes since I started riding back in 1997. The 1000s are only fun to me on the interstate. But then again who needs to go 180 mph every day? It’s not as fun to cruise them in the city because you always wanna open it up. But on a 600, I can cruise or go fast, and bonus I can turn like crazy. I also like not having abs option. My last bike had it and that’s part of the reason I just purchased a CBR600RR. I wanna be in control of my bike. Anywynice bike and nice video 👍. Maybe less “gd” bombs though 😃

  • @DJMotoVlogs

    You really do need to try out a 636. My friend has a 09 600RR and my 05 636 pulls on him pretty easily. The CBR is a better built bike tho and like you said its super smooth and it also comes with a built in steering damper.

    IMO unless ure in autobahn u dont need a liter bike. I doubt anyone can even ride a 600/636/675r bikes to full efficicency when they ride.
    Also the 600s and liters are almost same speed until u get to go to jail speeds. So unless youre a runner and dont plan to stop or you ride with great skills and can ride the 600 to full efficiency or live in autobahn or ride the tracks (even tho i prefer 600s on the track like the r6 which SUCKS on streets but a beast on the tracks. Riding position kills the street comfy-ness for the r6 but the high rpm slingshot of the r6 is a great track bike so you hold it in high rpm range on the tracks and its a beast but for the streets the cbr is most comfortable due to seats and riding positions so much better), so liter bikes more like a bragging rights or cuz the liter bikes do look better and has more special things for them can be reasons but for power only wise. I doubt there is many people who rides a liter bike that can even ride it to its 60% of full capability of the bike.
    Liter bikes so crazy powerful if u really put it down on the road. It gets to 0~180 real quick and youre pretty much a 1% who ride or die mentality.
    600s are more than enough of power. And they are easier to toss around and nowadays the size isnt much smaller either.

    I'd probably go for the Daytona 675 R if I could swing it.. I think the new 2017 Fireblade will still be more of a road supersport than a track bike. I'm still hoping they'll release a V4 superbike to compete with the R1M.

    The new 250 is going to be very different to the mc22, Honda is again probably trying to aim for the Asian markets with that bike. The mc22 was an inline 4 which made it special and had all of the gizmos you'd ever want in a bike from that era. The new 250 is supposed to be a 2 stroke, which is a real disappointment

  • @windyrun7979
    @windyrun7979 8 років тому

    You need to try a triumph 675 triple - like a street triple or daytona. The daytona R has a slipper clutch and quick shifter. Theres also a new speed triple that has a lot of the electronic gizmos people want now

    • @DukeOfDC

      Very possibly could be, but it just didn't feel like it had one right off the bat. Again though, it definitely could have one. A gear indicator would have been sweet. The fuel gauge was a really nice feature that is missing from my Tuono.

    Why does every motorcycle video have to have cussing in it? My 5 and 2 year old sons enjoy watching motorcycles on UA-cam as much as I do. Just wish there were atleast ONE family oriented motorcycle videos to watch

      Are you precious children going to be "damaged" in some way by hearing a few expletives?
