Why are people gluttons for punishment ? I've ridden for over 50 years , raced motocross and did some road racing ( in the 80's ) for about 8 years . I thank God that I started out on small dirt bikes and learned my skills on low powered bikes in the dirt and sand . New riders would be SMART to buy a cheap smaller trail bike , learn their skills and then sell it before buying a high powered street bike . I had the owner of the Kawasaki shop I worked at talk me out of buying a new 1000 ( I was 17 ) and instead buying a 600 . I had good skills on dirt bikes and thought " who does this asshole think he is " back then . But , as he put it I had not had a bike with that much power and weight and I respected him because the man could ride circles around anyone I knew . Here is what happened .... I was racing motocross back then and thought I was pretty hot shit on a bike . I was going down a back road that had an elevated train track crossing and in my young and dumb motocross mind it looked like a jump to me . I was used to motocross bikes that are fairly balanced front to back . I thought " YEAH ! I'm going to jump this bitch on my fairly new 600 " . Well ... I hit that crossing at about 65 miles an hour and instead of a nice level launch that bike stood nearly upright and good fart or wind would have sent me looping out backwards . I did lean over the front and somehow tapped the rear brake which brought me down hard on the front ! Had I had that big bulky 1000 there is a good chance it would have landed on me , making me a long bloody smear on the road . I admit it .... it was dumb thing to do and the shop owner may have saved my life or at least kept me from being badly injured for months . But , here's the lesson . We all have those moments where it may or may not be our fault . We are in a situation where TOO MUCH may be the difference between a stain in your shorts or dying . Choose your first bike wisely and learn in the safest place possible . It keeps our insurance rates down and it keeps you from not being DEAD ! PK

I started out on a 1990 GSXR750 in 1990. 29 yrs later and I've been riding a 1991 zx11 for a year now. The lighter smaller bikes are definitely a bit more fun on the corners and such, but the heavy zx11 is very confidence inspiring in its ability to just remain planted and stuck to the road. A modern litre bike with 50% more power than my zx11 and 20% less weight must be insane!

I’ve only owned CBRs, both 600 and 1000, I’ve gone back to a 600, not cos I couldn’t handle a 1000, but where I live, in the Uk a 1000 is wasted, you simply can’t use it fully, unless you wanna get in serious trouble, saying that a 600 can easily get you in trouble 👍🏻, but it’s more usable......, just my opinion 😊
I had that exact bike bought it brand new, rode it for a year and half 31,000 miles racked up. Sold it and got a 2018 CBR 1000rr, love them both. Have 22,000 on my new bike in a year and a half.

the best advice you can give a new rider is probably dont ride like most motovloggers, dont contimplate passing cars across double yellow lines, stop at stop signs... what is it about motorcycles that seems to make everyone an outlaw. ride a hyabusa carefully and obey laws you will be much safer than speeding around cars on a 600.
I had a 600 for years and had tons of fun with it. now that I have a 1,000 the power is going to take some getting used to. the 600 ( F4i ) was enough but it started having 2nd gear issues and I got the 1,000 for a steal 08 CBR1000RR

A carburated fully analog ZX6R from '95 and the 105 BHP it has on the back wheel is more then enough for me, don't need a liter bike, would be too much for just commuting in and around the city.

The things you said and the comments from the guy in the video about him being very comfortable on street bikes let’s those who know just what may be coming their way. I hope you both survive your thought process.
@@joshuachavers9249 Very glad I started on a 300. Not going to knock your advice to Dwayne here. Our hosts comments however, deserve a little context perhaps. He rides a lot, maybe mostly, cruisers in his videos. When jumping on a sportbike he sometimes signals to the audience that he is, in fact, a 'sportbike guy,' and not a cruiser rider jumping on a sportbike. He's not calling himself good or anything overconfident like that. He is just saying he is more comfortable on a sportbike than on a cruiser. Dwayne on the other hand.... never heard from again? You alive out there bro? Did you get a bike? How did it go?
i agree, especially if theyre young. these younger kids are attracted to the 4 cylinder sportbikes because of the fast/sexy factor. fact is, is that often times they dont have the skill, maturity or common sense to operate something like that. so they end up in the hospital or grave pretty quick. starting on a 300-400cc bike is a perfect entry level bike.
My beef with changing sprockets is that it makes sport bikes that are already awful at sustained highway riding even worse. Buddy has a stock r6 spinning at 8k going 80 and he wants more aggressive sprockets.
a 600 sport bike is a great beginner bike As well as the intermediate and advanced bike. They are easier to ride and seems slower than my sportster 1200 which is also a great beginner bike
Exactly what I told my cousin when he asked me what bike should he choose for his first bike.. I said if u need to get a Superbike get a 600cc stay away from 1 liter. He went and bought a R1 and fell 6 times. Thank god he survived all those falls.
I love my brand new 2022 RR just as it is don't need anything else it's fast enough for me and it screams loud maybe later I will install the TOCE exhausted.
No... Really if you've just passed and have no riding experience, then reality is you should get a 125cc... 600cc go anywhere from 130 to 163, they are very quick and are meant to be handled by experienced riders.
Interesting enough stock sportbikes sell for almost 2x more. I bought a heavily modified 05 zx6r for 2k and stripped the parts, sold them for oem plus cash, and sold the bike for 6k
The best way to break in a bike is to actually run it across the rpm range. But since they're streetbikes, they just tell you to don't go above a certain rpm, because well...they don't want to endorse someone to Hoon around the streets trying to break it in only to get hurt
Sitting here with anticipation waiting for you to nail the throttle, and when you did, a big gust of wind hit me and I almost forgot I was watching a video. I cant wait to get my first bike. Thanks so much. GOD bless.
Im a big supporter of going up the power levels. Start small then go up. More often than not, i know people who go back down in power. Im in that second stage, D675R. I do hopefully want to get a liter bike.
Cant be true LOL. I'm 15 with 2 1000s, a 600, and soon to be a 400 (when my dad give it to me.) My r1 is the only bike I feel like its over the top, soon I'll be taking her to track. I also have an '11 Ninja 1000 and an 09 r6.
Cuz we actually use the power...cuz the torque is good for the streets...cuz we can do highway speeds in 4th gear without the bike screaming...cuz when ppl want to race we dont get embarrassed...if ur doing the speed limit u should have got a 300 or 250

I'm an avid Harley, Triumph, Indian, fan most all my life. But, I do admire these kind of motorcycles a great deal! They are amazing machines! The two Guy's I know that moved up to the 1000 bikes...Both went back to the 600's! Both claim you can actually go faster on the 600's because they handle a lot better, and have more manageable power. It must be true, because I've seen pro racers on 600's, in classes against the 1000's. Just watch one "Isle of Mann TT" 600 class race! And see just how fast they can go! It's truly incredible! If I was 30 years younger, and taller than 5 foot nothing...I'd be there right now, buying that bike! LOL
Bro, I am 45, long grey beard, and my regular ride is an 05 HD Road King, I rode my sons buddy's 05 GSXR 600 a couple weeks ago, took it for the weekend..needless to say, will be getting one, or honda 600rr next spring, alot more functional for short round town rides, "Old Heavy" (My RK) pretty much for wife and I Road trips, which I will always keep...but trust me, get on one of these, you will be hooked...riding cruisers has taught us alot about staying alive, transfer it over to these models, aside from a few rips every now and again, and yes, wrists and back may feel it a little too, but it's worth it, Especially as affordable older ones are!
To answer your first question, i believe the only difference between the two is the style. The RR is a sportbike with fairings and a sharper seat position. The F is a naked standard bike with a more upright seating position. Components shouldn't change between the two
I've been riding a 07 ninja 250 for a year now...thing is..it struggles on highway ( Michigan 75 mph) would I be ok on a 600? Or should I stay on my 250 for another year? Any suggestions would be nice...please don't be a dick with your comments..

Neither should be your first, past learning stage, go big bore for the street over the 600. Now this is considering med to heavy city traffic, the power and torque difference will get you out of bad situations far better, in fact potentially saving your life. Once you have gone 600 on the street, and then go big bore, you don't go back, unless its for puttin around bs. If you buy that new 600, and get to roll some friend's big bore, you will always be in regret, not the place to be with a new bike purchase. I have rolled the 600 on the street, hell even a track only modded 600 on the street illegal for a few months, so that is a 600 even closer to a big bore. I am not feeding you BS about small bore vs big bore, but facts. Also the spewage you hear about learning a 600 before moving up to a liter bike is BS, you do not have to, especially if you are learning properly. The ones recommending that are usually the ones who didn't learn properly and went big bore before small bore and binned it. The only time I would recommend the 600 over the big bore is if its going to be a track only bike for you, because of course, you already have the big bore.
Let’s not wait for it to warm up before riding. Let’s just get on and go. Years of sport bike riding? I think not. You ALWAYS let your bike warm up to 140.
at some stage one is required to learn throttle control of a big bike and self control to not get into a corner too hot, but every rider should end up on a big bike as it is safer on the commute as the power from lower gives you more options
600 are faster in the 1/8 mile most times . On what road are you grabbing it past 1/8 mile . Buy the bike you want . I started with a 1000 and I can ride the crap out of it . My friend bought a 600 and got killed that same year by a 16 year old girl .
Inhate to break it to you buddy but I he new 600s are almost as fast top end as the 1000s, it's just that the 1000s get there a little quicker. But the torque of the literbikes is soooo addictive, but the 600s arensooo nimble. But anyway, any bike can kill you, it's not the machine it's the rider!!.

45, regular ride an 05 HD Road king, getting first crotch rocket next spring after riding my sons buddy's gsxr600 couple weeks ago, thought I was oldest guy on one of these!!?

Damn, you summed it up real well. No matter how fast the guy ahead of you is going, they’re never going fast enough. Nailed it
the best advice you can give a new rider is probably dont ride like most motovloggers, dont contimplate passing cars across double yellow lines, stop at stop signs... what is it about motorcycles that seems to make everyone an outlaw. ride a hyabusa carefully and obey laws you will be much safer than speeding around cars on a 600.
I will never understand why you guys have stop signs... Just have a giveaway sign, helps traffic flow alot better.
I love the look og this year of cbr600rr. The black/grey/white looks so clean to me.
I had a 600 for years and had tons of fun with it. now that I have a 1,000 the power is going to take some getting used to. the 600 ( F4i ) was enough but it started having 2nd gear issues and I got the 1,000 for a steal 08 CBR1000RR

I am a 40-year old experienced rider, riding streetbikes, sportbikes and choppers mostly and I still ride a 600 Ninja and thoroughly enjoying it, its an oldie but goldy. A carburated fully analog ZX6R from '95 and the 105 BHP it has on the back wheel is more then enough for me, don't need a liter bike, would be too much for just commuting in and around the city.
I know exactly why you don’t want to be heard. That’s why I kept my stock pipe on my 2006 cbr600rr also.
Loud pipes safe life’s
Yeah sometimes I wish I kept my exhaust stock but hearing the exhaust is just too satisfying. Plus I rarely go over 9k. Yeah I ride a 636 like a grandpa lol
Noticed at the end it hasWarped front rotors.... easiest way to prevent that is cruising a while to cool them after repetitive hard braking, and dont always hard brake to a complete stop. And if u do don't hold the front while at a standstill
Such finesse with that wheelie.
I've had four Fireblade lieter bikes, 01, two 02, and one 04 CBR 1000rr Fireblades. Looking to get back on two wheel, but haven't had under 1000cc since 2011. I'm most interested in the CBR 600rr. I ADORE the 1000rr, but would like to downsize a bit. Make more agile maneuvering
5:21 oh SHHH you didn't turn left. Threw me off. I got your route down pat then you throw a curveball like that....

Dwayne Dwayne you are absolutely kidding yourself. You are absolutely going to drive it stupidly.

Jesus i wish there is a way to unsee that combing facial hair 😂
man, I don't get american roads: staright as far as the eye can see with no intersections, but with double yellow line and 35 limit -.-
I think new riders should get at best a 300cc, and even that's a bit much.
i agree, especially if theyre young. these younger kids are attracted to the 4 cylinder sportbikes because of the fast/sexy factor. fact is, is that often times they dont have the skill, maturity or common sense to operate something like that. so they end up in the hospital or grave pretty quick. starting on a 300-400cc bike is a perfect entry level bike.
Buy a 1000 and use half of the power and now its a 600 LMAO
My beef with changing sprockets is that it makes sport bikes that are already awful at sustained highway riding even worse. Buddy has a stock r6 spinning at 8k going 80 and he wants more aggressive sprockets.
New route? No words of wisdom today? When will this be on the website??
+Antonio Aguilar soon
a 600 sport bike is a great beginner bike As well as the intermediate and advanced bike.
@soapfanaddict yep they learn by experience. Too bad they have to trip over that rock to learn instead of going around it.
I see people almost hit loud bikes in Florida all the time the revs do nothing but freak non riders out And I've seen some crashes also
I love my brand new 2022 RR just as it is don't need anything else it's fast enough for me and it screams loud maybe later I will install the TOCE exhausted.
The only thing is i wish it came with the old Euro round headlights.
Srkcycles is it ok to accelerate that hard on a bike with only 500 miles on it? Isn’t the engine still in its break-in period?
its healthy to rev a new bike up; just not too much. its worse to have it start to bog down as that can create ravines in the piston seals
Most bikes are put on a dyno and redlined before being sold they just reset the miles on the speedo
The best way to break in a bike is to actually run it across the rpm range. But since they're streetbikes, they just tell you to don't go above a certain rpm, because well...they don't want to endorse someone to Hoon around the streets trying to break it in only to get hurt
Is that your new model gloves ? look very lightweight !
My '09 600RR has a Yoshimura, thing is pretty loud, even at 75 mph in 6th.
Yoshimura loud? Lmao. Try straight pipe loser.
Is 600cc supersport ok for me as my first/beginner bike?

I just bough 636 and am lovin it!! I dont know why ppl are buyin 1000cc bikes, on the roads? Pointless.
Cuz we actually use the power...cuz the torque is good for the streets...cuz we can do highway speeds in 4th gear without the bike screaming...cuz when ppl want to race we dont get embarrassed...if ur doing the speed limit u should have got a 300 or 250

Good mentality bro. If only more riders or even just regular people who drive cars would just respect each other more.
But I agree with you. I'm going to start on a R3. I've been contemplating for awhile now, still want the Mt 07,R6,Cbr600rr,drz400sm you know all the toys. But that can wait! I'd rather learn on a smaller displacement bike. Even tho I know how to ride, doesn't matter. Still need to learn to ride and respect any bike I'm on. Like you said taking riding serious because of how dangerous it is. But it's the best way of life.
Ride safe keep braaapin bro!
I did the same thing. I started out on a R3 and loved that bike. Let me tell you that an R3 is plenty fast and very comfortable to ride. How did it work out for you?
I have some years experience on a dirt bike. i ride it all the time and wondering if a 1000 will still be to big of a bike. i have never ridden on the street and thinking about getting a 600 or a 100cc sport bike. thanks.

Hey @SRKcycles, can you de assemble bikes and ship them to a freight forwarder?
LOL
U can go faster on a 600? Lol yeah if you're racing against a 300cc bike..... Not a 1000
Bro, I am 45, long grey beard, and my regular ride is an 05 HD Road King, I rode my sons buddy's 05 GSXR 600 a couple weeks ago, took it for the weekend..needless to say, will be getting one, or honda 600rr next spring, alot more functional for short round town rides, "Old Heavy" (My RK) pretty much for wife and I Road trips, which I will always keep...but trust me, get on one of these, you will be hooked...riding cruisers has taught us alot about staying alive, transfer it over to these models, aside from a few rips every now and again, and yes, wrists and back may feel it a little too, but it's worth it, Especially as affordable older ones are!
NO GLOVES!! You gotta be joking me 😂

In what country is this? Is this in the USA?
My first bike was a 1300 Yamaha n I don’t regret it
What's the difference between 2004 Honda CBR 600F and 600RR? I may buy a 600F not running this weekend $600.... should I buy or Run from it?
To answer your first question, i believe the only difference between the two is the style. The RR is a sportbike with fairings and a sharper seat position. The F is a naked standard bike with a more upright seating position. Components shouldn't change between the two
@srkcycles get a dyson bro they got a BOOST mode spins over 110k rpm lol
Loud exhaust is a safety feature honestly

Get a 600 even tho you will get bored of that too after a while...get a 1000 if u can.thsnk me later
I have a 2011 Ninja 250R had no problem riding on i94 you can get to 100mph and pin without redline.
I also have a 2008 CBR600RR i didn't get one till after 4 years riding. When you feel you are ready you won't need to ask for anyone's advice.
The only time I would recommend the 600 over the big bore is if its going to be a track only bike for you, because of course, you already have the big bore.
looked at the thumbnail video like alright this should is gonna be lame... then the glorious beard comes out gotta be some good info in here
Let’s not wait for it to warm up before riding. Let’s just get on and go. Years of sport bike riding? I think not. You ALWAYS let your bike warm up to
140.
Should I still get a 600 even if I have a modified crf250r
at some stage one is required to learn throttle control of a big bike and self control to not get into a corner too hot, but every rider should end up on a big bike as it is safer on the commute as the power from lower gives you more options
No every rider doesn't need to end up on a big bike
600 are faster in the 1/8 mile most times . On what road are you grabbing it past 1/8 mile . Buy the bike you want . I started with a 1000 and I can ride the crap out of it . My friend bought a 600 and got killed that same year by a 16 year old girl .
Do you still have this bike? If so i want it, how much for her??

Inhate to break it to you buddy but I he new 600s are almost as fast top end as the 1000s, it's just that the 1000s get there a little quicker. But the torque of the literbikes is soooo addictive, but the 600s arensooo nimble. But anyway, any bike can kill you, it's not the machine it's the rider!!.
