tbh i root for conan but if you were watching when all this went down, jay leno was still one of the kings of late night along with letterman, and even when conan got the spot, the ratings took a nosedive. people just didn't take to him for a primetime slot. if he had mass appeal one of the other major networks would have snatched up him. cbs could have offered him a spot right after letterman or before, abc could've replaced kimmel, fallon, etc. i still like them both. but nbc asked jay to come back because he was drawing in crowds, he had a few years of falling ratings but he recovered and had good ones before the conan ordeal. i do agree with conan that perhaps he would have handled it differently, i would have too, but that's a hard position for Jay and Conan both...and it's not like jay was cruel or nay nee nay nee boo boo to him. plus if i remember, 11: 30 was the tonight show timeslot, competing with daily show/colbert is no easy thing to do, they were just as if not more popular than network hosts, and I think a lot of networks wanted to stick with the giants they knew could draw in ratings. and cbs nabbing colbert was brilliant. i watch colbert more than letterman or conan or leno combined. i don't what else conan wanted. late night was and still is a hard game to play. he stayed on tv...
I'm sorry I always thought Jay Leno was funnier than Lettermen. Then comes Jimmy Fallon and then Conan O'Brien is the best it's crazy fast funny attitude
In 2009, Conan used to have a late show (where Seth Meyers is now) that followed The Tonight Show (where Jimmy Fallon is now). Jay Leno used to host the Tonight Show, and decided to retire, and then Conan became the host. When the show started to lose viewers and money, the network asked Jay Leno to come back and host a short program in the hour where the Tonight Show was, and move Conan back a half-hour later. Conan didn't like that idea, and the network didn't want to lose Jay Leno, so they paid Conan a LOT of money to leave the show and give it back to Jay Leno, after only seven months.
really? you think this is all about money? the guy spent years on a career that NBC's decision could have easily ended if TBS didn't pick the guy up. it was his life. and if it was about money, he would have made triple of that sum in just ten years if he kept the job.

Yes he would. The money Lebowski!
@lastwave235 how do i find said ad block
tbh i root for conan but if you were watching when all this went down, jay leno was still one of the kings of late night along with letterman, and even when conan got the spot, the ratings took a nosedive. people just didn't take to him for a primetime slot. if he had mass appeal one of the other major networks would have snatched up him. cbs could have offered him a spot right after letterman or before, abc could've replaced kimmel, fallon, etc. i still like them both. but nbc asked jay to come back because he was drawing in crowds, he had a few years of falling ratings but he recovered and had good ones before the conan ordeal. i do agree with conan that perhaps he would have handled it differently, i would have too, but that's a hard position for Jay and Conan both...and it's not like jay was cruel or nay nee nay nee boo boo to him. plus if i remember, 11: 30 was the tonight show timeslot, competing with daily show/colbert is no easy thing to do, they were just as if not more popular than network hosts, and I think a lot of networks wanted to stick with the giants they knew could draw in ratings. and cbs nabbing colbert was brilliant. i watch colbert more than letterman or conan or leno combined. i don't what else conan wanted. late night was and still is a hard game to play. he stayed on tv...
conan's hot when hes bitter. or smiling. or breathing. hair.
Conan and his staff got 45 million dollars for walking away from the tonight show. He did seem hurt, but they were paid quite well for leaving then.
@LeComaAnim it doesn't work on these commercials =/
I'm sorry I always thought Jay Leno was funnier than Lettermen. Then comes Jimmy Fallon and then Conan O'Brien is the best it's crazy fast funny attitude
been hearing about this for years, but it's such an inside baseball story it's impossible to relate to it or care
Man, Conan looked hurt
I'm team Coco forever until I die.
Did he??
@SeHulluNaapuri somehow I never get UA-cam ads
Does anyone else think Conan sometimes looks like Dr. Perry Cox in this Video?

can someone explain to me what happend to conan he's lost he's show or something?
thanks
Don't blame Conan
really? you think this is all about money? the guy spent years on a career that NBC's decision could have easily ended if TBS didn't pick the guy up. it was his life. and if it was about money, he would have made triple of that sum in just ten years if he kept the job.
@SeHulluNaapuri weird well I havent seen one in at least a month
Conan can barely keep that Irish blood from boiling
