Not sure if you wanted to alternate pipes for looks but you can use the wrench to disconnect the interconnecting parts of the pipes so you can use one type of pipe
You can store iron ingots in compacting drawers and this way you will never be concerned about crafting iron blocks. Actually, this works for every metal ingots and some extra materials
Works great if you have the drawers. If you store everything in raw form you still need the recipes. W/ an unobtanium furnace the processing takes no time.
Did you know if you shift right click the connection between two different pipes, you can disconnect? You can also shift right click a pipe to set it as extracting as you already know, then SRC again to disconnect! You can even then SRC where the pipe would connect, as in the side of the pipe that faces another pipe, a chest etc., and it'll connect again!
Probably quite late with this, but seeing you setup automated Mekanism alloy infusing... WOW, I'm just at the part where I need a LOT of alloys, and this is going to change my life... I was always confused on what the 'process' meant when using patterns, now this makes a whole lot more sense.
You can make it cleaner with one less used side by including the enriched items in the crafting recipes, granted doing that you need to pair the correct number of input items so you make a few more then needed at times.
Here's my question: do you have to have pipes between the chests and infusers, if you set the top of the infuser to input? Will that not be enough to pull the items from the chest, or is a pipe necessary to do that? I ask, because in the other video, you have the crafter, then chest directly next to the furnace, no pipe. Then, you have the RS pipe connecting the furnace back to the ssystem. Thank you very much for this video, and the preceding one that explained the inventory space = fast speeds concept. That really helps! Maybe pin that as a comment on these two videos because it's quite useful to know!
The purpose for the pipe is to control how fast the items from the chests go in. I can give it a super fast pipe upgrade, vs having the infusers just directly pull. Technically, you could pull directly from the chest but I'm not sure how fast the machine pulls vs how much an upgraded pipe could pull. Also thank you for the kind words!
@@AlfredGGMC That makes sense. The pipes are made specifically for that purpose, so that makes sense, whereas the chests are strictly for storage. I was just trying to think conservatively about space, because 4-5 infusers is nothing when you consider all the machines from Mekanism. Plus, if you have other mods with power gen, or processing, then you could really have a massive automation mess on your hands! Thanks for the response, and you're welcome! Thanks for walking us through the video, and me through my question. I appreciate it.
Man. I'm playing atm8 and my friend bailed on me so I'm left to do everything on my own. Your videos are a huge help setting things up. I love melon power, and I love your videos. Keep up the great work
you did an excellent job with all of the quests in ATM8. this series has been helpful and also funny to watch while approach endgame in ATM8. was looking for a place to build my last base and set up.
btw you can just use your pipe wrench and if you shift + click on a connecting pipe the pipe will not connect you can do that instead of using two different pipes
thanks for this easy to follow tutorial. Can you also make video on how to tell refined storage to keep some items in stock like alloys and circuits of mekanism please.
Not sure where I went wrong but it looks like all of my machines are single threading requests for the same item type. Some of them are upgraded to ultimate factory and the rest are elite, and I don't ever see more than one crafting lane get used unless there are different item types that need to be made in the same machine. From what it looked like in the video, multiple lanes were being used in all machines once the auto sort is turned on (and I do have that turned on).
Dude! i get so happy when i see you posted a vid! so easy to understand how to do stuff and being a new modded player that's pretty awesome. so thank you alfred! you're a cool dude and i hope you have an amazing day. BUHHHHH BYEEEEEEEEEE!!! XD
Do you HAVE to have a seperate Infuser for each infusing material because of the way they work eith only one material in them at a time? Obviously its the easiest to just have one redstone, one coal, one diamond or whatever. But is there another way? Make it only request the right amount of infusing materials for the craft, and a redstone signal to dump the leftover or something like that?
@@Will-re5np awesome thanks man! perfect timing i havent played in 8 months since i made this comment, but literally just started a new world this week and was wondering this again haha thanks
@@IceDragonBoy3 that should not happen w/ Mekanism. W/ Xnet the connectors will be visible even if you removed that connection. But they aren’t actually active and don’t show up in the controller. It’s modded Minecraft and there’s always going to be odd things happen.
Having an issue. Everything is set up correctly but my infusing factory will not keep enriched redstone stocked. When i auto craft it it will go directly into the factory but the regulator upgrade will not seem to keep a stack in the machine. Enriched diamond and obsidian are all working fine as intended just redstone is giving me issues.
Do you have a crafting upgrade in there with it so it knows to make the Enriched Obsidian? Since Redstone is abundant, I usually just tell it to keep redstone stocked
I do everything was set up correctly cause it crafted and stocked diamond and obsidian without problems. But i logged off for the night and when logging back on today everything seems to work now. Weird but i wont complain lol. Thanks for the reply tho, and thanks for the content love the vids man. You help my gf become alot more comfortable with modded MC.@@AlfredGGMC
I actually learned autocrafting myself about a month ago for atm8, but I can say your videos have also helped me a ton to learn way more with it, and ways around other things too! And also just learning more about the pack itself :) Thank you Alfred!
Ah hell. I broke the pipe that connects them on the left. 😂 I forgot to put it back after I cleaned it up. It connects to the exporters on the left side underneath.
Me and my husband played often together in the past and he is always fast in automating everything. While auto crafting can be a pain to setup it does payout in the end. Because I was still manually doing everything, he pushes one button and gets a very complex recept. But yeah I also hate to set it up, which makes me wait with it, but when I finally set it up it does help so much.
@@AlfredGGMC I'm sure there's a few other ways to do it. Probably even more technical. But if it work's, it work's and this has helped me because I was at this point of automation. So thank you.
Hey, great guide! It really helped me out setting up my own autocrafting. But I seem to have an issue with the enrichment chamber. I'd like to have enough enriched redstone/diamond/obsidian to fill up the infusing machines. Thats the part thats working but it seems it does not stop there making them. Its crafting until my whole system runs out of those resources. Is there a way to signal the enrichment chamber when to stop? Or did I do something wrong in my setup?
The trick is to put a regulator and crafting upgrade in each of the exporters that send out the enriched goods, then click the item you are sending out (for example enriched redstone) and set it to either 1 or 64. That way it tells your system that it needs to maintain at least 1 (or 64) of the item inside of that machine. It'll keep going and going until it fills up, then it'll start stocking up the machine with enriched redstone until it hits that number, then it'll stop!
I really enjoy your jokes and your big reaction to almost everything xD Looking forward for the next episode! Also don't mind me sharing some of my ATM 8 Experience ✨ I recently finally trying Xnet and i can't even describe how i wish i try it sooner. Just to keep the "Compact" theme i'm only using one infuser by tweaking the autocrafting recipe (Eg: Right click the iron in the Infused alloy pattern set it to 8 and manually add an enriched redstone and then set the Infused Alloy result to 8 as well). Xnet's advanced connector really complement it so well! It fails from time to time tho xD But i'm really just so proud of myself by making it works as compact as possible so i don't mind it.
Can anyone tell me if they're having problems installing atm8? I hit install it loads like it's going to then the install button is grayed out. Does anyone know a fix?
@@AlfredGGMC yes it exports it faster, but the infuser is still the bottleneck, the items are then waiting in the chest instead of the refined storage system. So it's not faster in total.

Why did he use the extra chest and did not directly place the crafter above the infuser?
Crafter speeds are based on the amount of inventory space the block it is pointing to has. Those chests have way more slots, which means more speed.
