Wouldn't that have been insane, in fact I read that in the 1500s a spaniard pitched the idea of a steam boat to the monarchy but was denied! Could you imagine if steam powered boats had been invented over 200 years early?
The reason it didn't catch on was that it wasn't worth investing the resources into it at the time when you could just have slaves do the same job. When it was invented again, it was during a time where we started to realize that slavery really wasn't such a good idea any more.

@@KuraiLunae Slaves were definitely not a good idea for the Romans economically. When slave labour started to expand after the punic wars, a TON of economic problems started to arise. Just to name the biggest one, wealthy landowners would buy up everything and make slaves work on their estates, this made them extremely rich and displaced every peasant and made them find another way to live. Most of these people moved to the cities to try to find work(as all farm work was clogged up with slaves) and this put huge pressure on the central government to provide them with free or heavily discounted grain or, well, they would riot. There simply wasn't enough work to do in the cities for everyone It drastically increased social inequality and put a big strain on the central government economically. The roman tax system regarding the nobles was also questionable and made this worse. Basically, you could choose to pay taxes later, and what this meant is that whenever a new governor came, he would try to make friends with all the elites in province by forgiving their tax debt. This problem was by far the biggest in Gaul and heavily increased the tax burden on the common person, as the rich were mostly not paying their share. This is of course mostly an issue of tax forgiving but if slaves didn't exist, this wouldn't be such a big problem because the rich wouldn't have so much influence and the common person could afford to pay their taxes. In general, slavery made ONLY the elites rich. The fraction of taxes they paid that was gotten from slavery was immediately distributed back to the people that were displaced by slaves. I am confident in saying that if the Romans didn't have slaves, their economy would have been significantly more robust. It's much easier to tax the common people than the elites. Slavery is often cited as one of the factors that lead to it's downfall
Newcomen steam engines were actually fairly commonplace for draining mines of water to allow crews to reach deeper ore deposits, They were so critical that if they had not been invented the industrial revolution may have never even begun.
12:47 You absolutely can have it place directly onto the depot that fills the bucket with lava. I always do that with my steam engines. The trick is to use 2 buckets, choose the blaze burners for depositing to before you select the depot under the spout, and set the mechanical arm to "prefer first". The second bucket prevents the depot under the spout from being empty unless the mechanical arm has already picked up the bucket from the lower depot. Since the top depot will already have something, the mechanical arm won't pick the bucket up from the lower depot unless there's a blaze burner to fuel, and prefer first ensures the mechanical arm will prioritize the blaze burner, preventing it from picking up the bucket from the lower depot, the bucket from the upper depot moving to the lower depot, then the arm seeing the upper depot is empty and putting its bucket back on the upper depot. The end result is the arm will only pick up a lava bucket to fuel a blaze burner, then afterwards placing the empty bucket on the upper depot. On top of that, instead of spending brass and an electron tube on a second depot, you instead spend 3 iron, saving the more valuable brass.
At first, i thought it was a but ridiculous to power a steam engine with a nuclear reactor, and then i remembered how actual nuclear reactors work, and it just makes complete sense.
I'm full of steam engine facts like did you know Leonardo da Vinci actually drew up plans for a steam powered cannon that would be able to fire projectiles that weighed 110lbs or 50kg! And that many of his principles were used to invent the first commercial steam engine in 1712 despite the fact that his description of his cannon was found 100 years later! Another fun thing about Create: New Age is that the reactor isn't even necessary. You can have heat pipes above lava pools and use heat pumps to transfer heat over to the boiler heaters. Infinite idle power at the cost of real estate. (It gets pretty space-hungry for all the pools but that's a small price to pay for some light cheesing lol)

Caveat being that the chickens HAVE to be completely obscured so that the entity culling will prevent them from being rendered otherwise 👀 and 15k chickens doesnt take that long to get, you just use a sequenced chicken egg farm, each chamber continuously fills the next with more chickens, which in turn increases how fast eggs are being sent into the following chambers, after like an hour or two with a 5 stage chicken farm and i had just over 24 thousand entities inside of it, tho that WILL lag like a mfer even with culling. I only did it bc i wanted to prove dejojo wrong abt if it was possible to use in survival

Yeah pretty much all about steam engines, i am gonna see your arcane engineering series too after this :)_
when i look the boiler i don't see anything (no boilerstatus) why?
@@s3cr3t_manu65 Do you have the goggles on?
bro i was just about to make a steam engine what are the chances
Glad I could be in time!
Can the boiler be sideways? (3x3x~, longer than it is tall) Because that'd be cool to make a V8 looking engine
Boilers are only vertical!
@@dejojotheawsome >:(
You might be able to do that with Create: Interactive, but don't quote me on that
@@Mate_Antal_Zoltan :o
I cant select the funnel for it to deposit items to. IDK im on the 1.20.1 version please advise
the funnel has to be inwards, not outwards
I had 4 lvl 18's in arcane engineering lol
Is there a new age add-on tutorial?
Does anyone have a recommendation for an automatic create quarry that puts items in a storage( that i dont have to manyally empty)?
Any contraption picks up items automatically! You can use portable storage interfaces to move items from a contraption to stationary inventories
@@dejojotheawsome So its possible to build a system that ransports items form a quarry to a storage? Btw are you planning on doing a tutorial on a quarry? because i wanted to clear a really large perimeter and maybe keep the resources :)
Thank you
I'm not used to 3 water blocks being infinite water for create.
“Not survival viable” sounds like a challenge.
I beg to differ abt the usability of the egg engine in survival, as long as you have entity culling the 15 some odd thousand chickens required to fuel it doesnt actually produce as much lag as youd think. I can stare directly into my active chicken core and maintain a solid 30 fps on a rather dated potato system
I only did it bc i wanted to prove dejojo wrong abt if it was possible to use in survival
or just hold w!!!
This is a joke great video.
Im playing on deceased craft and there is no nether and so, no netherrack, at least not a lot of it.
There's netherrack in volcanic plains or use the explorer compass to find ruined portal locations.
And if you need nether bricks it's easier to haunt clay bricks with a soul campfire. You can get soulsand from a cleric villager.
Ok. Now what do I use these steam engines forn
how can get interdimensional fluid travel?
through a nether portal
@spookwave4966 aww hell no i just get myself 256 buckets of lava and then i cheat in an infinite blaze cake. i cba about fueling that crap forever. i get a ton of fuel as a set goal and just give myself the infinite thingy when i reach the goal
usar um reator nuclear para alimentar um motor movido por vapor??? WFT LOL kkkkk
Спасибо тебе за помощь, теперь я смогу построить их намного эффективнее и компактнее!
my water wont go into my boiler. its in a ifenit water soure?

I feel like like a super-heating liquid fuel should be more magical, so the bio eþanol and peanut oil don't do it for me
This is old school. Do a 2025
