His vocal techniques are insane, he was 58 back then but his voice control is still so good. Especially the parts where he keeps singing but changed his volume from hard to soft to hard again (crescendo) all in one breath, not many singers can do that.
1st I'd like to thank the performer, Mr. Tengri for showing the depth of his love, respect & sharing it ALL to those of us who gladly listen with free flowing tears. One of the most beautiful composed songs about another's Mother-land that I've ever had the honor of listening to over & over! My understanding is that this song was COMPOSED AFTER TENGRI'S 6 YR.OLD DAUGHTER PASSED AWAY. If so the lyrics take on a deeper expressive love for his daughter along with his MOTHERLAND!! A PROUD DEAR
So beautiful, takes your breath away completely. The passion and emotion Tengri has is phenomenal. He seems like such a beautiful man as well; gentle, genuine, humble and very funny. Thanks for your reaction Martin. Take care.
If you want to check out throat singing theres a group called 'The Hu' that sing in this style, as with Tengri they're very passionate with what they're singing. Hua Hua actually came first in this episode with I Dont Care but he was quite upset at this position, protesting that Tengri should have come first.
I love this performance. You should see his other performances too from this series. He also taught Hua a vocal technique that Hua uses in few of his songs.
Mongolians still speak sky as "Tenger" just in all day normal speeches, Tengri is an old mongolian writing pronounciation. Respect our great singer, inner mongolian. Beginning shows, the traditional mongolian khuumii and horse fiddles.
The lyrics, like the emotion in this song, is very concise yet powerful. First it depicts his nostalgic prairie scenes, green grass, white sheep, blue sky, and the chorus says I love you, my home, you're my paradise
This performance is so great. 🤯 Hua Chenyu has rearranged this song for the show the next. It is different from this one but also amazing. I love both versions . 🤗
It’s horse-head fiddle 😝😝 I love the sound of it. Was treated to a live performance by a Mongolian during a world music workshop, and yes throat singing was involved. Incredible skills.
Hahaha I told ya, goosebumps throughout. Hua Hua had mimicked Tengger’s style of singing before and look at him hearing it live probably for the first time - mouth agape 😵 in wonder 😝😝 Beautiful with a tinge of tragedy in his delivery, too good, too good. For English subs, you’ve to use Hua Hua’s performance in “The Next” provided by Hua Chenyu English Subs channel. I doubt other videos of Tengger’s performance of this song has English subs. Cheers Martin.
Your reactions are always such a treat! This song is abt tengri's homeland. But it carried alot more meaning after he lost his young daughter at age of 6 i think.
Very genuine reaction. I was spiritually brought to another world when I heard this song. I could feel the intense emotion even the lyrics were simple. Love the Mongolian throat singing from the two guys in the beginning too. If you love the Mongolian style maybe you can also react or listen to "the night of Ulaanbaatar” from Tan Weiwei in Singer 2015.
It’s Tengri as you see it in English and if you pronounce it in Chinese it’s Teng Ge Er, much like Hua Chen Yu you pronounce it in 3 parts. It’s easier to say Tengri instead 😂
So pretty reaction dear friend thank you, Mongolians proud of him our inner mongolian singer Tengri. Tengri means "Sky" in mongolian language. I like to listen this song more often, we are one nation forever
Such an emotional performance. This song he wrote for his daughter as a farewell to her on her wedding day. Wait till you hear my special boy sing his version !! Mongolia, which is his ethnicity so even though he is Chinese, his roots stay with him. We are truly BLESSED beyond words to be able to experience such raw talent. Thank God for Singer... I would never have known about these amazing souls if not for them
@@jiaunmew878 Apologies I think I did not explain it well. Its a Mongolian Folk song about a fathers farewell to his daughter on her wedding day, about the nomadic life style and watching her ride off on horseback. I think maybe that is how he felt about his farewell to his own daughter
@@jiaunmew878 I am aware of his history thank you. As I said before, I did not explain it well the first time for which I have apologised but that clearly makes no difference to you. Conversation terminated
Since you liked Tengri, you will probably also like Helvegen ( Path to the Realm of the dead. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Christian concept of Hell) by the Norwegian band Wardruna feat. AURORA. Wardruna is kinda like old Norse music style and presents Norse mythology and philosophies. Except that nobody knows exactly what their music sounded like. No records of it. So Wardruna has taken elements of ancient traditional folk music and instruments to express it. Helvegen is like a blessing on your last jearney, singing you along. «Who shall sing me into my death-sleep) I want this song played at my funeral for sure. ua-cam.com/video/FnkTuHP9q3o/v-deo.html
Wo de ma ya! Martin just said "WO DE MA YA!" Welcome onboard the "Wo de ma ya" ship. Lol That was a great performance by Tenger. It is said the song was written for his deceased daughter. Hua Chenyu sang this song too in another show. I forgot what that show was. 😅
Hehe it’s Mongolian horse fiddle. The players did the Mongolian throat singing. One is over tone another is more advance whistling over tone. He use windpipe to whistle while singing overtone.
Your Reaction is Fantastic! It hits me exactly like it does you. I absolutely love 💕 this Song by Tengri. Just Incredible to me 🙇🏻♀️🔍🎶🔥🎵🤦🏻♀️🙏🏽🇺🇸👏🏽. If you get an opportunity listen to a Mongolian Band called The Hu Band. I love 💕 the song called The SAME. The Throat Singing 🎤 is EPIC. Stay Safe and Positive.
He is secretly chinese 😂 I mean where did he learn that from and why did he pronounce it so well. I mean you usually don’t learn this (online or with teachers) unless it’s a person that tells you chinese people say this lol.
This song is incredibly sad. Sadly most reactors have no idea, especially when they don't turn on the subtitles. They focus on the bells and whistles and missed the intention of the song entirely. Truly unfortunate.

5:25 你说得对!没跑了!😂😂😂
A strong and powerful performance! The Mongolia style pop is very popular in China, and Tengri is somewhat like the father of this.
Of course, China has the largest population of Mongolia in the world
,It's no surprise that Mongolia style pop is popular in China
you know the song's AMAZING when martin starts to say ''WO DE MA YA!''😂😂😂
(btw, great pronounciation of wo de ma ya and tengri👍👍)
Thanks 😆
