Got this not too long ago. It was the last one left at the dealership. It's my first real bike and I couldn't be happier. It's classic yet showy styling compared with comfortable ergos, fun but comfortable power band. Can't wait to put many miles on this bike!
lmao, this was the funniest thing at the dealership tonight. after i bought the bike, we couldn't figure out how to turn it on, and it took 4 of us to figure it out. all you have to do is push the button in ONCE, then release it and then turn it to the right in the on position. You do NOT push it in, hold it in, and then turn it. it won't work that way. Once again for anyone who is confused as how to turn this bike on. You push it in once, release the k nob, and then turn it to the right. easy peasy. But now im kind of nervous because 35mph in 5th gear is crazy. my honda cbr 500r was cruising in 4th gear at 35mph.
The hole is part of a performance windscreen, such as the Zero Gravity Double Bubble windscreen. The Double Bubble windscreen is designed to improve the bike's aerodynamics and give it a race look. It has a "bubble within a bubble" concept. The windscreen is available in clear, light smoke, and dark smoke. To stop the reflecting green place a piece of black cloth on the reflecting part of the dash. You can attach it with adhesive command straps with velcro or rubber cement. Which is easy to peel off.
Have this exact bike. Seeing it in videos does not do it justice. Need to see the 40th in person. Very much like the 80’s and early 90’s Kawasaki paint jobs.
I just wish they had another color option. I'm not a fan of the green and white focus, I feel like I'm playing a street racing game from the 90's looking at this thing. lol

I have this bike. To turn it on you start in the off position with the turning mechanism, then press in and turn gently to the right, and then once it gets caught you stop pushing in and continue to turn right. Its a bit difficult but after a day or so its easy to get used to.
Nice review, cool bike. On the Kawasaki TFT display, the options thankfully let you shut off the flashing Rev/gear change indicator in the options menu, by pressing both left and right buttons at the same time to bring it up. The MPG miles per gallon and trip meter are a great combination for getting the most out of the fuel tank's range.

The keyless ignition wasn’t working because you were missing the first step. To turn the bike on you have to push the “key” in like a button (an orange light will turn on…it’s that little white dot on top left of keyless knob) and then turn the “key” to the right 😊
Yeah but you can’t keep it pushed in like a car. You have to push it to wake the bike up and then just turn it without pushing. Which was the confusing part to me.

I agree that the SE is the best buy for the 500. I got a 500 ABS (not SE), and over the next few months have already put more money into modifying the ‘base’ ABS model to be more like the SE. Would’ve saved several hundred dollars by just buying the SE.
