The more interviews I see of billy and the sheer prolific amount of music they create the more receptive I have become about his approach to everything.
He's prolific alright. Doesnt mean any of it is actually any good.
Imagine finding someone lurking outside your house, peering into your basement and it turns out to be Billy Corgan.
Great interview, and the new album is excellent! 90s Pumpkins vibe through a 2024 prism.
Hell yeah, Billy! Great to have you back!
New album kicks ass 🤘🤘
Does it?
@@pattonPwroh yeah
I love how he's holding the mic like it's a flower
Great interview loving the new album we need a Canadian tour now come to Calgary!.
Exciting new album. Thanks Billy. Great interview.
Billy being a great interview. Hell yeah.
i love the new album
Let’s go I can’t wait till August 17 Minnesota🤘🤘🎸🎸
Smashing Pumpkins opening band for Green Day?! What the hell?!
I was about to say exactly the same. The world is back to front.
yea, 2024 = 1994
@@wuhaninstituteofvirology the opposite, SP were headlining Lolla, playing after beastie boys, greenday were mid bill playing in the afternoon... and when they played Woodstock people had enough of their silly dirges and started throwing mud.
@@MarkMorten-du4ep it's a sign of the dumbing down of the masses.
@@guitaristssuck8979 (lol oh yea ,that was classic `94 woodstock mud fest
❤ Billy
I just saw the Pumpkins live and they didn't play a single song from this great new record (guess they're still rehearsing based on this interview). Would've loved to hear Sicarus!
New album slams!
1992 is when they opened for guns'n'roses, autumn 1991 when they did the rhcp/pj tour.
And the first leg of that tour in '91 was SP, Nirvana before they hit big, and RHCP.
@@theworldneedswinners91 nah, Nirvana jumped in after pj and obviously Billy didn't want to do that tour.
@@guitaristssuck8979 Oh that's right. Just got it backwards.
In a sense it's a return to innocence.
On the other hand it's a continuation of the evolution of the grand scope
🎵 If you dare wear short
Shorts 🩳 🎶
A little band called pearl jam opening for the pumpkins?😮😮😮😅
And on the first leg of that tour, Nirvana opened for the two before Teen Spirit hit big.
love the new album, its fantastic.
opening for Green Day though...still freaking off to me. i see it as a backwards insult.
Green Day are horrible, vain poseurs. So yes. But I’ll still be there, leaving early!
Yeah.... But... They're playing the places Paul McCartney plays... Like all the big stadiums. I bet they're making bank and getting new fans this way. They normally do 18-20000 amphitheatres and now they're doing 80,000-110,000 seaters on this tour.i mean, I can't fault them.
Looking like Bill Burr.
Billy looks pretty good, the album too, for a bunch of old guys anyway. The vocals are finally lower in the mix and i for one am glad Jeff's fills are gone but man has he missed darcys input.
@@arcticmonkey3 really? Billy has always said she had a presence and told him when some stuff really sucked and he listened. And fans loved her. I have no idea why you would say she never had any input. If you said that about Ginger I'd agree.
the record sounds NOTHING like their early 90's music...at all
He didn't say it would. He said his writing and recording would return to the same mindset as Siamese Dream, and he delivered on that promise tenfold. Just like before, he threw pretense out the window and gave us an album chock full of very real emotions extracted from his actual life. Just like he did moving from Gish on to Siamese Dream.
I think the comment we are commenting on was stemming from the lame interviewer claiming it sounded like the early 90s in the best way.
I doubt he even listened to the entire record.
@@jaysharpESQ Ah, I missed that comment. Yeah, I also doubt he listened to it with a remark like that.
I can't believe this band is opening for Green Day.
Green day sucks
Whats with the huge bruse on his arm!??
Birth mark.
He never said they were going back to the 90s sound. Just the 90s frame of mine. Cringe.
Che intervista fantastica adoro Billy❤
What happened to Billy’s arm?
He's always been like that. It's just more obvious in this interview.
Thought they opened for Kiss in late 90s?
I could be wrong, but I think it was for one night only
Halloween I remember watching it on Fox
At this point, as a fan at least, if feels like a badge of honor that the Pumpkins aren't in the Hall of Fame.
what happened to his hand?
He was born
Uh does not sound like back then to me it sounds like now and it sounds good but to me more bass than most pumpkins records it’s very now sounding
For me this album is a mix between old staff and new staff....didn't sound like sd or gish.....it's pumpkins sound..
Come on Billy, you don't need to lie about greenday dirges.
I hate to say it but I dumped my pumpkin tickets for a few weeks away. I can’t pay $100 to hear the amazing pumpkins for only thirty or fourty minutes and open to crap like Green Day and Rancid. It’s all backwards. Nim mentioned Billy Joe turned into some neo, political punk musician, and Is one of the biggest shill tools in music today. Billy Joe has single-handedly ruined a massive part of rock ‘n’ roll with his whiny brat attitude.
Green Day sucks
I love Billy and the Pumpkins, but I hate Rush.
what’s wrong with his arm
it's a birthmark
FUN FACT! THATS why his pre- Pumpkins band in Florida was called 'the Marked'!
@@jaysharpESQ and one of the other members had a birthmark
Nothing. He was born that way.
Grande Billy ❤❤
