2:28 Those are Goombrats, not Galoombas. Galoombas are the ones you would originally see in Super Mario World which you can knock over, grab and throw. Goombrats are originally from New Soup U, are typically seen in the jungle biome, and are effectively the red Koopa version of the Goomba (in that they don’t walk off of ledges)
Also at 12:05, Amps usually stay in place and act as stationary hazards, the enemy that follows you around and has a trail of small projectiles is the fire chomp, and at 13:59, the rockets are likely part of a Wonder event, as you can see the wonder event borders on the screen.
ENEMY: The goombas may be asleep because they are dreaming (it’s Mario bros. Wonder, after all), so if you ground pound near them, or get touched by a sleeping goomba, then the goomba would wake up. An alternate prediction would be that there’s a sort of easy mode, or a switch in the world map that wakes all goombas up, adding more enemies to the levels.
Some things to note, in the early shots of the first level you can see the mushroom kingdom in the background so it's likely not a dream world, the enemies in the scene with the bouncy hippos are called goombrats not galoombas those are different, the only sleeping goombas we see are in level 1-1 so I doubt there's any bigger reason than it's the first level so it's easy
I think the new variety of spinys act like skipsqueaks from Super Mario 3D World. If you look at it closely, their jump could be timed with Mario's jump, judging by how at first when Mario goes by they don't jump, but when Mario jumps, they jump. Idk, they could just have a weirdly timed jumping reaction.
I’m betting I am the only one, but I would love to see the Koopalings return for this game. It’s not the Koopalings themselves that everyone is tired of, it’s the three-hit formula they follow. Maybe some sort of musical fight with Ludwig, a spaceship or train fight with Larry, or a circus fight with Lemmy.

That new Bullet Bill variant could be called a "Missile Mike" Also here's a NEW ENEMY: in an underwater level, there's a wonder effect where a giant shark chases you through the level. The shark could have a blue glow like those Triceratops enemies we already saw.
the castle as a boss fight would be pretty cool, it could even have a wonder flower effect that makes the player giant so it makes sense kinda like the Giant Dreamy Luigi fights in M&L Dream Team
I hope they call the enemy pushing the pipe a "push-bro". That could be a fun little reference to Pushmo, a lesser known Nintendo character from a series of Wii U and 3DS e-shop games.

Imagine just a giant hippo rolling around the room trying to crush Mario, then maybe there's like a pow block that you have to rush to, to deal a hit to the giant hippo. There can be other hippos alongside the giant one, making the battle harder. That would be a fun mid-world fight.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder looks amazing in my eyes. I love the weird and wacky style they are going for! It worked phenomenally back in Superstar Saga, so a platformer with this style I think could turn out incredible. I am very excited!

I was thinking of an enemy that would work like an anglerfish thing which would maybe have like a collectable or something and when the player goes to grab the thing it tries to eat you. Yeah so that’s my idea, I think the thing would be called A GANGLERFISH or A DANGLERFISH or something like that.
Enemy: Snailicorn, they can act similar to the bully where you need to push them of a cliff, but the periodically shoot magic projectiles out of their horn, it would dive into the more wondrous side of unicorns.
ENEMY: I don't really know how to explain it, but it's like a mixture of the ladybugs (i forgot name), ant troopers and spiny shells. they would walk or fly in a circle, occasionally showing through a weak spot by flipping. some even walk around pipes, making the pusher bro fight more of a fight to the death.
Enemy: goombler: this Goomba species is made out of cheese, is too sticky to jump on, needs to run over them to kill them. When jumped on, the cheese layers began to slow the player down and cannot jump, needs hot water to melt the cheese layers.
I'd like to see the T-Rex from Odyssey as a new enemy, or maybe her babies or something. I really can't wait for this game, it was the only exciting thing from the Direct IMO!!
Enemy: A big hedgehog that is very big and has very big spikes. When you're far away from them they are afraid and they are sweating. But when you approach them, they will try to protect themselves by shooting out a spike at you. Their names are: sledgehogs (cause you know... they are sledgy)

At 11:21 in this video, you see them following Mario perfectly, and even doing a ground pound, just a bit after Mario does, even though Mario has already defeated the enemy. It kinda reminds me of how Donkey Kong partners work in DKC.
ENEMY: I actually have a few ideas! 1. Cobrat's from SMB2 but after they come out of the pots they leap towards Mario and wrap around him and you have to release their grip. 2. Including old 3d Mario bosses with brand new mechanics! Such as king bob-omb, Mecha Bowser, or, gooper blooper, but there is a different way of taking them out.
ENEMY: Hungry Hungry Hippo is a boss that’s kinda like fatty puffer in kirby except it can eat Mario. Once it gets out of control rolling around and gets a bump on his head and you have to ground pound on it. Maybe instead of hurting Mario he tries to bump him off a cliff.
I have an idea for a new type of podoboo/lava bubble that jumps up from lava like usual, but this time it would freeze in mid-air for a second, aim, then charge at the player
The new long mushroom enemies look like eryngii (king trumpet mushrooms), goomba's are called Kuribo in Japan, because they look like chestnuts, so it would make sense for another vegetable based enemy.
Maybe an enemy like shadow Mario or shadow captain toad, follows you around? Maybe the shadow Mario would be racing you like the wiggler? Possibly be able to play as captain toad and his brigade in 2D, similar to carrying roads in smbwii

The spiky green guys jump when he does like that one enemy from 3d land that was a wall.
ENEMY: Hungry Hungry Hippo is a boss that’s kinda like fatty puffer in kirby except it can eat Mario. Once it gets out of control rolling around and gets a bump on his head and you have to ground pound on it. Maybe instead of hurting Mario he tries to bump him off a cliff.
There’s a rumor goin around that cappy is coming back as a power up
2:29 According to Mario Maker 2, those are not Galoomba’s, but actually Goombrats. Galoombas are more round lacking a plant on their head.

The new long mushroom enemies look like eryngii (king trumpet mushrooms), goomba's are called Kuribo in Japan, because they look like chestnuts, so it would make sense for another vegetable based enemy.
Maybe an enemy like shadow Mario or shadow captain toad, follows you around? Maybe the shadow Mario would be racing you like the wiggler? Possibly be able to play as captain toad and his brigade in 2D, similar to carrying roads in smbwii
I think that those are called goombrats, not galoombas. Its nothing major, but I did catch that.
