He definitely sounded happy before but this is the first time mario actually explicitly looks happy in gameplay. I absolutely love it.
Edit: Yall, I specifically said during gameplay, not in promotional materials/cutscenes. If you wanted to pick a game he looks happy and not indifferent during gameplay, then the only answers you can throw at me I’ll except are from spinoff titles, which I did mean to exclude but didn’t specify. He’s Always happy in promotional material, and usually in cutscenes. Everyone asking what about certain example game, Why don’t you go and actually look and see? - during gameplay he’s not smiling, he’s indifferent, not in 3d world, not in 3d land. Not even in odyssey.
Like I said, he sounds happy, but he’s actually never looked it specifically during gameplay exept in spinoffs.

The amount of purple coins having a decimal point depends on the Wonder event happening, this can be seen in action at 8:37 when the Wonder event ends and the purple coin counter goes from 25.0 to just 25.
Yeah like, in the first clip it's like each purple coin is split into ten smaller shards... interesting.
I still can't get over how hilariously goofy Elephant Mario looks. Like, it's not like Cat Mario or Tanooki Mario where it's Mario in a suit. Instead, he keeps the overalls and hat... But his BODY changes

In Germany we have a series for kids called Benjamin Bluemchen. the protagonist is an elephant that looks exactly like Mario without the mustache.
I'm getting MASSIVE Rayman Origins vibes here and it's exactly what I wanted from a 2D Mario.
It's a mix of hand drawn with a slight 3D pop, it's beautiful.

The new music was absolutely beautiful and playable Daisy & Yoshi is so hype. The new powerups gave me Mario Galaxy vibes & the purple coins kinda reminded me of Mario Oddysey

Daisy is finally in a canon Mario game
This art style honestly reminds me of the Mario & Luigi games a bit, specifically dream team. I think Nintendo hired some of the artists after Alphadream went bankrupt because this feels like a big time Mario & Luigi game with the art, the whimsical location, even the words that pop up over enemies. I think Alphadream has been absorbed into Nintendo after its fall because this looks very similar to their artwork.

There is no way that I'm the only one thats excited that Princess Daisy is finally going to be a playable character in a mainline mario game. 19:00 I'm calling it the elongated bullet bills are going to be called Missile Mikes. Also it appears that you will be able to choose different color variations for the Yoshis so hopefully you can do the same thing with Toad as well.
Anyone else notice the levels have no time limit? That's an interesting stage. It makes me wonder how big and explorable theyll be.

with the new kingdom being the “flower kingdom”, it makes sense to why Daisy is now in this game since, well, her name’s a flower! This could be her kingdom!
We already know that she rules over Sarasaland tho. I think this is just a completely new kingdom like the sprixie kingdom, daisy is just here to help.

At 7:18: You probably didn't notice or you just forgot to mention it, but as Mario is shrinking and growing along with the Goomba, the trees in the background are also shrinking and growing along with them, and it's completely in sync with Mario, growing and shrinking as he does.
Also, it looks like he crouched when he shrunk, so I would wager it’s player controled.
He missed loads, just rushed a video out and pointed out obvious easy to spot things.
I'm guessing he just filmed it as he went, he wonders if there is more than one of the yellow flowers but pretty much the next scene we can see two just a screen away from each other.

15:10 Yoshis fluttering legs were kicking at a lower frame rate. Just a cool style choice
16:08 The rocky pipes in the background of the first world’s stages is it’s own world. You can also see a blue toad house which is potentially where you can spend purple coins
Note that the purple coin counter starts with a 0, (example -> 002) meaning there might be a finite number of purple coins in which they don’t respawn (like in odyssey) or there is a limit to how much you can have collected before you have to spend them.
19:00 here you can see the castle in the background is actually the floating castle.
At 17:12 it seems that the bowser jr fight takes place in the floating castle

What if when you collect a Wonder Flower, it’s counting down because that’s how much time is left before it disappears. And you need Wonder Flowers to collect certain Wonder Seeds so maybe that’s why there’s a countdown

Exactly, like the scarecrow time challenges in Mario Odyssey, which give you a Power Moon, but there's a countdown.
The decimals on the purple coin counter depends on the type of purple coin. There was a purple 10-coin which bumps the counter up by 10. Then there is a normal purple coin, which looks like a bubble-like plus, which obviously adds 1 to the counter. I noticed that during the blue wonder event 6:31 when mario was jumping around, he was collecting purple coins. Except these were not like the normal ones. They were little purple triangles, and they looked like "purple coin fragments". When collected, they added 0.1 to the counter, per fragment. This explains the decimals.
in the industrial/machine level at 16:44 you didn't catch that once the wonderseed is touched not only do the gears in the back begin moving quicker but the level is tilted slightly, which is why that ball begins moving
I like that in multiplayer characters don't seem to bounce from each other. I think that multiplayer was very tidious in New series because of that.

Thanks for the info, i missed most of it. One thing I did notice was during the 18:29 scene, we see everyone jumping around, but then see that you don’t interact with other players as they just pass through each other

It's probably for that level/wonder seed scenario so that players don't accidentally knock each other off the snowball. Either that or they don't want players throwing each other off of cliffs.
In 14:02, it looks like the night theme is supposed to be an obstacle, not a theme because you have to be in the pitch black to get the wonder seed (the wonder seed didn’t appear in daytime)
One thing too is that enemies will physically react upon Mario and crew meeting their eye level. For example, the paratrooper at 4:32 will frown at Mario. Or at 7:12 where the goomba's eyes and head track Mario. I don't remember them ever doing this in any NSMB game and I think it's a really subtle but lively addition to the artstyle.

The goomba at the end kind of makes me think there might be a power up that gives you cappy or a cappy equivalent depending on what character gets the power up, and like all others, goes away when you're hit. if that is the case, then this game automatically goes from an 8 out of 10 to a 10 out of 10. I've been starving for more cappy captures!

The trees in the fall rollerskate area kind of look like pipes if you look near the branches, as there is a bulge that is reminiscent of the normal Mario pipe. You can also see some big pipes behind in the fall scene as well, showing that this area may be in the big pipe canyon/the area next to it. I also hypothesize that the stretch silhouette area is also in this forest, both due to the trees and the fact that the grass on the ground, (Look at the start of the fall clip at the ground) matches the silhouettes on the ground. In the pink cloud area, you can see below the gaps at what appears to be the frozen area in which the gang was rolling snowballs. During the wonder ball/power-up area, you can see through the stone-like walls and find what appears to be coral or some sort of aquatic-like area. In the jungle area, you can both see pipes branching downwards in the far back, while also seeing that the foreground and background pipes have light white star patterns on them. In both the beach and underwater scenes, you can see what appear to be wave-shaped rocks, meaning they might be related to/in the same area. The background in Bowser Jr.'s fight has a pocket of clean air showing what appears to be a castle, which might mean that you are fighting on the outside of that big Bowser bad airhead (hehe). Perhaps that fight is happening before you progress to where the Yoshi swarm is, or perhaps that is the opening sequence before boarding the ship itself. It is possible that either the BBB airhead (Ima call it that forever now) or the moving castle in the background fired the new rocket bills. The grinding section and the yoshi+mario section both show block-like backgrounds, which may mean that Mario is climbing a block tower, with the grinding level below and the Y+M level above. There are also what could possibly be big ZZZs in the background, along with another block tower, suggesting that these lay scattered about in some sort of polluted/sleepy fog bay. The gigantic middle topiary in what appears to be the first level is a flower, further cementing this is the "Flower Kingdom". The swirl-headed toad-like creature could very well have an acorn-like part on its head. The starting area has leaves blowing in the wind, and the blue wonder seed next to it (Along with all the others) has a slight resemblance to the piranha plant, specifically the Pitooie variant, which lines up with it spitting out things. Snoozing goombas can be seen far in the background, perhaps just as decoration. The ghost house's blocks have screws on the bottoms, suggesting some blocks may be pushable like the pipe/movable in some way, shape, or form, perhaps by both the player and ghosts/new foes. Mario also wall jumps (Not exciting but worth noting, just like all of this LOL). The pumpkins, when broken, drop coins, most likely acting like crates in earlier games. The yellow wonder flower most likely tilts areas. I must stop for now but I shall edit later!

I am happy that they made this new Mario game because I have memories of playing other 2D Mario games with my family and this will create even more fun memories. I also think the toad hat on the goomba is like the elephant power up

I love how the new art style gives off a similar vibe to the movie. I know that sounds dumb, but the movie is the only Mario story that makes his world feel mystical
I feel like the flower kingdom might be a way of trying to bring Sarasaland back into relevance but I could be wrong.
I think this new land has a greater emphasis on flowers instead of mushrooms, maybe those purple "flower coins" are normal here and the regular coins have scattered there from the mushroom kingdom, the small "flower coins" have 3 petals and you need to collect 10 to make a regular "flower coin" which has 4 petals
I'm super excited for this game and you showed a lot of details I didn't find but theres is one you missed: the parakoopa in the beach level gets angry when mario swims past it. nice litlle detail
I think the wonder seeds and flowers are related to doing things with time. There seems to be a lot of instances where they switch things from day to night, which might explain why the one wonderflower is orange instead of blue. You're switching from night time to day.

16:43 the stage seems to have a little bit of a slant in the post flower shot, so I think the flower tilted the stage, which made the ball roll onto the breakable looking platforms, seen to the ball's right in the shot prior.

I feel like this game will take place in a dream (kinda like in Super Mario Bros 2) because of the weirdness and that goes on, everything feels very dreamlike.

I feel like the wonder seeds are the equivalent to the power stars in 3D mario. I think a certain number will be required to unlock the boss levels. I feel the purple coins will be used to buy items or to buy cosmetics… (maybe even secret levels too, but that might be the wonder seeds purpose aswell) The star coins are 10 purple coins too.

I noticed that Mario's voice and jump sounded different in the trailer. In fact, this game seems to have updated sound effects in general. However, I also noticed the jump sound is very similar to the Super Mario RPG jump sound.
Gotta say i love how sega stepped it up lately and im glad to see nitendo still doesn't lack because there clearly stepping it up to also im curious which game are yall more excited for? Super mario bros wonder or sonic all stars
A few things I noticed:
1. The kingdom is called the Flower Kingdom, when Luigi is shown on the world map you can quickly see the first level is called ‘welcome to the Flower Kingdom!’
2. There’s definitely multiple of the little talking flowers, it seems to just provide some atmosphere and some jokes and small advice
3. It seems that Mario jumps way higher on those music block
4. I’m now calling this Super Mario Bros Acid Adventure

I'm so happy we're done with the new soup! Finally a unique direction with Mario! Also, Reznor aren't originally from new soup, they first appear in SMW
some things you might have not noticed or just didn't mention are, 1, there are multiple flowers that talk to you in the game shown in the rock Mario area 7:35, 2, (you definitely noticed but didn't mention it) the flowers can float, 3, (you definitely noticed too but didn't mention it either) the mountain world is the 2nd world now instead of the 6th, 4, you may have not noticed but you can't normally jump on cheap cheaps underwater but you can in this game, 5, if you slow the video down to 0.25 playback speed at 15:33 you can see at the far left side of the screen there is a giant flower that seems to give you the parachute and not the red talking flower, 6, at 16:08 you can kind of see a third island in the distance to the right, it's kind of hard to make out but it looks like its a beach world, 7, in the same part of the video 16:08 you can see a what I'm calling a seed toad house on the world map in the background on the mountain world, meaning the seed toad houses are not only at the end of each stage, and 8, at 14:17, 20:36, and 21:55 you can see the worm/caterpillar has a crown which could mean either, 1, like you said he is royalty, 2, the caterpillar only gets the crown if player 1 has the crown (if the crown is like the one from 3d world) or, 3, the caterpillar goes to the person who has the crown (if the crown is like the one from 3d world)
I'm calling it, that caterpillar is the prince of this kingdom, and by the end of it, he becomes a butterfly.
New enemies, mechanics, power ups, animations and not titled “New”. Truly what Super Mario Bros. should be
Right with all the new super mario bros games I felt like I was playing the same game always
14:00 here we can see how to collect seeds. Here you have to turn the lights off to spawn the seed. I'm also sure that you need to collect those special flowers at 6:13 and 16:23. So looks like you need to activate an extra challenge in order to collect the seed, unlike ×10 purple coins.
Edit: I found another thing. Timers at 6:49 and 16:50 seem to be timed challenges for seeds just like the purple warp box challenges from Super Mario 3D World.
this looks phenomenal. My only complaint (and its pretty minor), is that peach pulls out a pink Mario hat for the glide sequence, when it could have been a parasol instead, like we've seen from her in the past.

At 7:33 Very likely that form Mario is using is based off the enemies known as "Tap-Tap" from the Yoshi's Island series. If it is. That's gonna be really cool. They hardly ever make appearances outside the Yoshi series.

Talking about Collectibles, i think the 10-Coins are like Star Coins and the Wonder Seeds are going to be like green Stars where you have to collect them to unlock on the overworld i think
Not only does the new running animation look like Sonic's, but Mario also gains a side-mouth like Sonic.
It also looks like they removed the level timer in the top right corner and you can also hold a power up like how you used to do in the NSMB handheld games and SMW.
I love that Nintendo finally took inspiration from the superior platformer series (donkey kong country) and finally dropped the NEW super mario bros seriea for something refreshing!

7:12 A cool detail is if you look at the goomba, he looks at Mario grow and shrink and then gets surprised when Mario jumps on him.
Seems like they took some mechanics of what made tropical freeze so great and “Mario-ified” it for this game. Things like traveling between different layers of the screen, grindrails, changing terrain, appearing coin paths, etc.
