Holy shoot!!!! After watching you vid I replaced my air filter. I decided to use my shop vac w mini hose brush attachments for the grill screen which worked perfectly. I noticed a couple of the little screens were torn. I removed the old air filter no problem but man o man......installing the new filter back into the tube with the new O ring was a BEAR!!!!! I tried doing it with hose attached first then dropping into box......that didnt work.....then I tried screwing the box down in place then installing the tube second and it worked but not friggin easy at all. I was just about to re use the old O ring which no doubt would have made it easier. It took me an hour to conquer the re install.......wow!
Well, it looks like German engineering can complicate even air filter changes! What a difference from changing the air filter from a Subaru, for example. Thanks for showing us how to do it.
Helpful video. Thanks. Audi seems to make this overly complicated. I have a 2018 Q5 and this will be much more difficult than what I do for my daughters vehicles (Toyota and Subaru). Love my Audi, but they over-engineer things and make it more difficult than necessary. I am sure the dealers love it though.
Thanks! I'm glad my videos could be of help to others out there. Audi definitely over-engineered their cars haha. There were many other work I did to my other Audi's that I really scratched my head on 🤣
I’ve got the same car. I’m just wondering why you replaced the air filter? You think it will increase efficiency? And just curious how many miles do you have on the car? Thanks for the video
Air filter change is a maintenance just like an oil change is. It will definitely increase efficiency depending on how bad (clogged/contaminated) your air filter is. The car currently has about 161k miles at the time of this comment. You are welcomed 👍
It currently has 147k miles and I bought it with 108k miles back in Sept 2018. Have had no major problems with it. It has been very reliable. Only have been doing oil changes and tune-ups and no issues since purchasing it 👍
The 3.2 fsi is a very reliable engine so there's little to worry about when purchasing this vehicle. Something you should be more concerned with is the DSG transmission, that's way more likely to start giving you problems than the engine itself. You need to be more mindful of how you drive when you own a DSG transmission car.
@@hyepower3760 Talk to me about the transmission.....how long do they last...what issues do you know about? I have 90k miles on mine and I just purchased it
Thats odd. The EPC light has nothing to do with the air filter 🤣 There is a handful of reasons why the EPC light came on. Depends on how it came on, how the car is acting now and if there are any additional lights on.
Thanks for the tip! -I'm aware that the engine bay is dusty as mentioned in the video. Additionally, I do not own this car anymore. -Torx and "Star bits" are used interchangeably. Star bits is the general term and Torx is the trademark. -Correct, you don't have to remove the radiator support access cover but if you saw in the video there is a little filter/screen that should be cleaned out

Haha I'm glad my video was able to help. And yes that was the most difficult part of it all. Glad you were able to get it done 👍

Haha right! At least these German cars are quality. You're welcome, I'm glad my videos could be of some help to others out there 👍

Definitely not plug n play like my Ram pick up....thx😅👍
Haha no probs. Not to bad though 👍
Clean your engine bay
Torx not "Star bits"
You don't have to remove the vanity panel / radiator panel
Thanks for the tip!
