Thanks for the answer about the foam. I did change the air filter according to your video. I would do 1 ammendment. DO NOT remove those clips around the tube, unscrew the clamp instead, it's extremely hard to put them back on. In MANN air filter in instruction they unscrew clamp, I went your way and it was hell. YES, I suck as a mechanic :D.
Just did this job on my S4. For the life of me, I could not get the intake tube onto the o-ring using this method! Pro tip: undo the worm clamp to separate the coupler that takes the 2 spring clips. Then, press and clip that onto the filter lid/assembly BEFORE you screw the filter lid onto the housing. Infinitely easier that way. Appreciate the videos nonetheless!

Just did my S4 and did not use the o ring as could net get the clips to close. The dealer has twice commented in the last few months that the air a moderately dirty and failed to change the filter. A K&n which I am throwing out. Can't believe Audi mechanics go to trouble of checking with every service but fail to change it and last one was for a broken radiatior hit by a metal piece. Using proper stock filters from now on. Used some flat head screws I had to join the filter as it had none.
IMPORTANT- Once the new O ring is installed on the air filter it's often VERY difficult to snap the main air hose back onto the air box, even if the O ring is lubed up. To make installation of the airbox easier, losen the hose clamp on the large hose and pull out the connector inside. Insert the connector into the airbox and snap both connector clamps in place. Then reinsert the airbox with the connector into the large air hose and tighten down the hose clamp. MUCH easier This way 👍
i have 2015 audi q5 3.0T supercharged V6. i bought a genuine audi air filter & it did not come with a new o-ring in the box just the filter. I didn’t change the filter yet because i need confirmation, do i put the old o-ring on the new filter?
My 2018 Q5 does not come with those clips to remove the front cover behind the grill. I wonder how do you remove the cover? I wanted to clean the snow screen.
My old filter has a cover over the air filter vut the new one hasn't come with one. Seems you'res doesn't have 1 either so maybe it's bot that important.
This is way more complicated than my Toyota. 😂 Still happy with my new Q5, but my goodness, why do the Germans have to make things so difficult. Take notes from the Japanese please.
This is not 100% applicable to 2018 and up sq5 (the interior and attachment on the 2018 is different) - should change the title of the video to reflect that

I hope this is the same for the Q7 3.0 TFSI!
(speaking of the snow screen)
I had filter with foam around it and the new one came without. Is it ok?
+Robert Kilar It does not appear the foam is necessary for installation.
This is the same procedure for the 2014-2016 Audi Q5 TDI air filter and snow screen.
