I purchased another shelter pet....My biggest weakness is OLD TRUCKS. Sometimes I just can't get away from owning them. Check out this 1991 Kenworth T600. Equiped with a big cam 4 cummins motor, she has all the right things needed to get a load down the road.
Listen to our weekly podcast "steady at the wheel" for some great trucker content. Also on UA-cam: @steadyatthewheel

The pigeon on your shoulder.... priceless
The series of starting out with an old truck would be awesome.
Ok…I LOVE the truck number on the ear tag
That pigeon! Superstar
I have been driving semi's for 36 years and loved every minute of it. I am currently out hurt and missing my trucks bad. I stumbled across your videos and you really are very entertaining, plus I get to see all your trucking experiences. Thank you brother.
I personally definitely want a tangent like this with the costs, pros, and cons of starting with a cheaper truck.
Here's the deal on the " big cam 4 " cooling system . Low flows have restrictor plates in side radiator - keeps H2O in radiator longer to cool it more but makes engine run warmer especially on hot days / long hard pulls .. to change to high flow u must change ; radiator - water pump - engine oil cooler . Ezest way to tell them apart is low flow has 2 main hoses ( feed & return ) on top of radiator while high flow has 1 top 1 bottom ( return goes to top - feed is at bottom ). Also look at engine oil cooler - high flow will have pipe/ hose coming out bottom rear going to bottom radiator .
Great information. Thank you!
nice truck good luck with it, fix that wiring before you burn it up.
Yer oac cummins cooling system were very touchy, bad for air locks and cavitating the cooling system, also the 444 had another thermostat at the rear of the block to rush that coolant out.there was also an update mod to the thermostat housing later on.they clearly didnt keep the oac system for long for a reason
I Love Each of the Trucks by the End of the Video, this is Part of the Problem because I, like You want to Keep the, All! Don’t Sweat the Deleted Footage, you will have this on the Big Jobs. I’ll catch you on the next One, Keep It Safe Out There Sir
Tidy example of a T600 Kenny, U have there. Looks cool.
Great truck that Wants to Run Wild and Preform so it Keeps You Happy ! SO UP grade IT & UP Date It and LOVE and Respect the Spirit With IN IT
Nice old aint eater, those tractors looked pretty cool when new ,nothing else like it on the road definitely turned heads.
These old trucks are nice
We always called the T800’s “anteaters” we thought they were fugly. The T600 I drove was a big improvement over the FLD120 I drove.
they never broke down
Old school is cool, load the wagon.. Happy Trails
love old trucks from 70s-90s, Kenworth my favorite, Then Peterbilt and Freightliner trucks.
sound good a series on trucking business and all the problems that come with it.
Also that tame Pigeon is really cool. he is just looking for a buddy to poop on lol. birds are awesome!!
Good looking t600
AARRR Jax the Truckin Pirate with His trusty Pigeon!! 😂😂😂
Keep on Keepin On Jax!!!
Yes...that would be a great series.
great idea for a series - Davis and tara
Spent many hrs in a 1995 with a 30 ton wrecker bed. Truck is a beast
Drive a 2006 T6 for years, loved it.
i believe the two toggle switches on the dash are for the cruise control...might work might not...the broken ones are for power mirrors...
JAX FOR PRESIDENT 2024!!!! GREAT VIDEO!!!! LOVE THE KENWORTH!!!!🇺🇲
Jax I'm like 'ol Rooster, I have over 4 million miles over the so whatever you are doing I enjoy it
I think it would be cool to see it on the channel puttin the work in love those trucks
I'm a truck driver who loves watching trucking videos. I actually started watching your channel due to the Nascar videos, they are definitely interesting (I had a chance to be a local stock car truck driver/pit crew member but quit due to it being only 3 weekends a month). Then I went down the rabbit hole and watched half your videos. That said, I enjoy the farming/ranching side and especially the bull hauling side. I grew up on a ranch and it's not easy. Anyways, keep up the great work and I'll keep watching every video I can.
Heck yeah my man!! Thank you. That’s the definite struggle with the nascar thing. It creates really fun and unique content, but it’s hard to keep the rest of the business rolling at home! Welcome to the channel
Love those old trucks! The paint and pin stripping reminds me of the old Dick Simmons trucking paint scheme.
Didn’t they have a skunk on the truck
Definitely want you to keep doing videos of this beautiful old girl shes awesome
I’ll never forget when I was a kid I got a T600 nascar hauler die cast and it along lit a little fire for the enjoyment of big rigs. Kelloggs terry labonte truck matter of fact. Good stuff
Definitely want to see a old truck series!
Put it on the road I like when you take the hopper bottom coast to coast like did those apple's
Heck yeah
Can we take a second to recognize how awesome all kids let alone fretty's sweet strumming is,oh yes
I think it would be a good idea to do the content on that
I am in your school of thought. In reference to "" classic"" preservation of trucks. They are NOT like current -- cookie cutter models. Truly enjoy your videos !!! Later
🤘🏼
If you head east on I-90 anytime stop in Blue Earth with your truck! The Farmers Daughters will make sure you are fed! Just ask for BS! ❤ love your energy!
Shine it up and polish the wheels and put her on the road and enjoy it , I love the older trucks 🤠
Trade your sleeper for air dine bigger hole can slide your high back seat way back in the sleeper if you want. Plus lots more room. I've seen it done before. Dude pull into stock yard sitting back in the sleeper everybody thought the truck was driving itself.
Well done Professor!!
Let’s see you polish that new truck before after pics and the process of getting it all cleaned up and ready for service and totally do the cost breakdown and earnings of this rig so the new young truckers can understand the process of doing it right way with minimal debt
I’ll be sure to post it all up!
I am one of your new subscribers because of your NASCAR videos. Enjoy your content brother! Cheers from Massachusetts! 👊🏼
Welcome! And thank you for the support
Oh ya guy I know exactly what ya have gone through, I tossed a whole trip over that ( a rather expensive mistake too 300$ in fuel) it's horrible feeling and hard to redo it the same way.....just not the same.
I’m all for this series I love these cheap ol trucks even if some may think they aren’t worth anything, it’s the history and the experience with these trucks that make it enjoyable for me
Totally love the bird. I think he needs a name. Hope to see more of him. He likes you.
That is identical to my very first truck, if you ever decide to sell it please let me know, also I got an 88 FLC with that same engine I love it runs great
Very cool. She may come up for sale again at some point 👍🏼
@@realwildwildwest right on brother keep me in mind
The switch that springs back to center is most likely the running light interrupt switch for saying thank you when someone flashes you back over after you over take them.
Ahh could be… I’ll have to test that.
I think you should fix-r-up and run it. Shows people that you have class. I love older semi's. They're classy.
I hate to say it but that Bird is the star of the video Love the Truck I use to drive one
That truck is money in the bank! I have an 82/85/99 and love them
The t600 was huge here in australia, trucking companies here were full of t600s,one company refridgerated roadways which is now gone had alot of t600s and k100s.
It was also an end to an era of all the fast trucks before we got speed limited.
Good to See You Fella
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐The T600 drew me in, then I realized who you were !
I'm not really a big UA-cam follower but the Cero Gordo adventure was one of the most interesting series I have ever watched.
Of course I had to view every second available on your channel and found it even more fascinating !
That was truly an adventure of a life time and left no doubt that Dave Sparks & Co. are the real deal.
You are unique character that I plan on being entertained by for many hours to come.
Good luck Jax and stay safe 👍
That was a heck of an adventure up there!
Love the cabover! Lol! 👍🤠
Sorry to hear about your stones man. Thing about the trucking for NASCAR episodes, is that it showed a side of NASCAR that nobody commonly gets to see. It also showed some pretty cool trucks.Bonus! Love the new/old KW too.
The nice thing about a engine before all these electricial sensors is you don't need a laptop to hook up to it to find out why it's running bad. The big cam 400 - 4 is a good engine. Nice score dude...
Nice K Whop! ❤. It’s Perfect. I’ll be looking forward for more ride along videos. Congratulations. Oh I collect flashlights, nice…my sons and husbands always come for my flashlights….the buggers.
Yes! I would definitely watch you put this truck on the road!
Would love to see a budget series. That will be a great truck to run
Definitely worth overhauling and keeping....
Love Old School....😎✌👍
Yes get it in a lot of episodes but only 1 wish get the grill plate (longhorn) with a led upgrade 🤣
my grand father had a parrot that would sit on his shoulder like yhat his name was max. your bird has really nice color.
Ordered a 1991 T600 with a 60 series Detroit and 15 over, studio sleeper, full farings with dual exhaust up back of sleeper. Went from 5.6 with old 86 Pete to 7.2 when fuel was only 1.25 a gallon! Making money like crazy! Enjoy that truck 😊
Very nice! Dude!!
The new ..old truck looks like a stud. Please tell little man he's doing great on the music for the videos. Every time I hear it I start tapping the the foot. Love and prayers 🙏🙏
Glad to see your video and enjoyed the guest appearance (pigeon).
In addition to making a living on a cheap truck, I have a request for topics to discuss: the realistic pros and cons of being a trucker. Not to discourage anyone, but just to make sure they don't jump in head first without being prepared.
Yea Great Buy Jax! I Love ❤️ These Ole Trucks, Back When They Made Em Tough! Some Good Ole Motors Then, Big Cam Cummins, C-12 -15 Cat, 8V92 Detroit, Good HP Motors Right There! Your Pigeon Buddy Reminds Me of That Old Jerry Reed
Song About That Singin Bird!🎶🎵
From The Snoman Out Here In Selah WA!!
☃️⛄️
I'm here for the farming and The Beard!! Tho I liking the rest of your content Jaxs.. and you are a joy to watch whatever you're doing. Much love and respect to you all
You’ve been a longtime loyal supporter. APPRECIATE YOU
@realwildwildwest we need more folks like you in the world Jaxs..keep on keeping my fellow bearded brother
Definitely would watch that. Be nice to see how it all works over the pond compared to here in the UK.
I would love to see a series on you driving that truck and makes money with it and how it goes
Looks like a beautiful truck
A wood block in front of the pedal helps a bunch. Changes the angle of your foot.
Wow, a t600! Don't know why, but I've always liked them trucks. They look pretty cool! I'd watch that if you'd upload it. It'll be something interesting
I think it would be a great idea to do a series in running a cheaper truck. Would be very helpful for people starting out! Great content as usual Jax!
Do it! Love the idea of a series on making a living with an old truck. I use my 94 Pete 379 with a 3406C mechanical engine daily.
If the air filter or filters were ran plugged, that will make the turbo pass oil like that. Ive worked on many of farm trucks that way.
Jax...I can relate to the Kidney Stones which I think would make a good name for a tribute band for The Rolling Stones.🤔 Kelly
🤣🤣
Yes we would like to see you run this older Truck. I have a Big cam 3 here in Texas with the low flow cooling too. I've only owned older equipment also so this would be something I would like to see
Always wanted to drive a rig, so yeah, show us how it all works!
Was my first ride and it was an amazing unit. Stepped up to W9, but throughly enjoyed the T6!
Guess this video was suggested because I watch Gentry & Sons. But man this is one awesome KW! And as soon as you pulled out the Olight I hit subscribe. I have several different ones. I have one in my pocket every day. Great products.
Jax, a few little things and tricks I learned over the years! 1st, you can put a brick, a couple 2x6's screwed together, or something like that in front of the gas peddle, to get your heal up in a more comfortable position! Cheap and easy! 2nd, it's called a big hole conversion, and the sleeper and the cab are still mounted to the frame separately, and are independent of each other. One other thing about the big cam 4, they liked there fuel, as you will find out! With fuel prices as high as they are, a N-14 would have been a much better choice, and not available in 91! You also forgot to say what the rest of the driveline spec's were?
I’m curious to see what I can get out if this for mileage. Dad always did very well with his big aerodynamic cabover. Curious if this will be good or bad. 🤔 thanks for the tips.
Jax love your channel but adding the Jr. Motorsports to your channel was awesome, very nice mixture of content then to top it off with EAR TAG 463 you nailed man 👌🙏🙏
Beautiful old truck! You have to keep that bird! To funny. Haha. Thanks Jax's. Hope you had a great fathers day.
Birds of a feather...🤣 🕊
Excited to see the evolution of the 'ol Anteater!
Bummer about the deleted video driving home.
What tranny does it have, 18 speed?
I remember running down to kenworth when the first one hit the dealership in 1986, everyone hated them 😅 at least it's got nice peterbilt rims.
🤣 I know lol at least it has one nice thing . Spoken like a true Peterbilt man!
@realwildwildwest haha good lookin ride buddy 👍
My dad's first new truck was a 79 Kenworth 444big cam Switzer 5 and a 4 transmission
His second new truck was the w900 gold plated is all I remember. And the Rick Mears snap-on tool chest 😅
First truck was a great big ORANGE 🍊 truck with a BIG BRIGHT "K" on the reefer trailer.
They could see him coming for miles and even through some states 😮❤
Spicer transmission not switzer
I love the t6 and t660. Blue ribbon has a similar pod cast about it but they run Columbia’s and centuries with 12.7
DANG Jax...that truck is all you buddy ! I hope it serves ya'll for a long time.
Awesome wild wild West videos brilliant all about road trucking and your farm work great class videos love them 👍👏🇬🇧
Maybe do the series with the T600 like you're thinking, only incorporate the pigeon as your travel buddy, it seems attached to you..... it was actually quite amusing watching it peek around as you were discussing the truck.
Good video Brother, keep them coming!!
7:25 😂… I love me a t600. They were my favorite when I was a kid. Beautiful truck Jax!
You and me both!
Heard Greenbush, went wait a minute…Jax was just an hour from my farm! Speaking of Nylint toy trucks, my son was just gifted one of those black T600 “The Sound Machine” trucks. Been hauling gravel around here since I was a kid, I’m sure I’ve seen that one in my travels. Nice score Jax!
Amazing that you can take an old truck and make a video from the heart that is entertaining and interesting!!! Most times you get the bird from someone it doesn't end well. Few people could turn it around and make it a positive thing :>).Thank You!!!
This was a great comment 🤣 face me a good laugh. Thank you!
I have a 1961 Cessna 172...it is a time capsule :+). Wouldn't trade it for 5 brand new ones!!! Old things when shown a little love have unique smells that bring back memories, drive...or fly different than newer models and the pride in ownership along with busted knuckles from repairs you made are rewarding in ways few people can understand :+). Thanks again for putting your channel out for folks to enjoy!!!
Good video and I hope you get all the repairs done on your truck. Just make sure you greased your 5th wheel before you start out trucking and pulling a trailer. I hope you will find low fuel prices. Take care of yourself and your truck driver. Please let us know when you have all the repairs done. May our Lord be with you always.
Awesome truck jax but I don't understand why you don't run full rear wings to cover the wheels, the paint on back of the sleeper is destroyed from rock chips
Yeah the Minnesota backroads have definetly hammered on that paint the last 30 years. Maybe half fenders will get added to the list of updates :)
Man seeing that brings back memories my dad had a t600 just almost exactly like that when I was a kid his had a 3406b so I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for those I say you run her I think once you fix the couple minor things she’d be a good reliable rig
Interested in a w900L 2000 I have 2 of them and only plan on having one for now on, it's well used 400k miles on it but always well maintained with all the records. Love the new T6 anteater
Email me a few pics, specs, and price. I’m always interested in stuff. You never know lol! shum.jax.info@gmail.com
DO THE CHEAP TRUCK TRUCKIN VIDEOS!!!!
I'm working on doing that myself. Bought an 87 International also BIG CAM 4 POWERED. 😁😁
Yeah buddy!
The torsion arm between the 5th wheel plate and the rear axle needs to be replaced the rubber's in the middle dry rotted and E longated. You probably have to replace all the tortion rods been there done that.
Like to see it pulling 1of the cattle trailers an see how it perfors and expenses out.
I’ll add it to the list of todos!
Great truck! Put it on the road!!
I worked on the farm in SC,my uncles put me in the driver's seat.a cub hauling hay.4 yrs old.
