like with Schwarz, Kay-chan can now have their own niche being a high defense enemy shredder. I'm satisfied with her module, it significantly improve her dadadada. Thank you for doing a detailed testing of her module.
Excellent taste in music. While I'm personally not a fan of how core caster modules are split between [100% more damage to 10% more damage at extremes and basically up the damage vs the standard 50 resist of bosses by 20%] and [1 sp per hit... On elites and bosses, because 1 sp is... broken?], any buff is welcome.
Ceobe has truly experienced a revival in the meta with modern enemy design. From the hardest events like DOS to CC with DEF tags and atk down, 2k+ def is common and in these situations she is absolutely the queen of single target dps, since res can always be mitigated by ifrit or texalt but defense cannot (since enemy res is never over 90, but there is no upper cap to enemy def and it just keeps going up). Long gone are the days where patriot levels of defense are rare and her usage was "niche." She is a staple in high end content, and should absolutely be presented as such. HG cannot balance DEF around Ceobe when they need to balance it around Mylnar and Wisadel, and all the other high DPH physical units. Again and again 3-4K def enemies are appearing and Ceobe not only circumvents their mechanics, but absolutely exploits them. She's better than it seems on paper, mostly on her functionality with her shield. That said, she's the typical of trying to balance between survival and damage but ended up not excelling on both
You can see Lin taking spears without her def bubble but the shield from her talent still blocked the damage. At the very least she’s the only range unit who can still tank damage while outputting her own. (also Carnelian s1 but I don’t really count that as doing damage) Her s1 is also pretty good as consistent art dps but it compete with Eyja s2, Goldenglow s2, Dusk s1 and maybe Ifrit.
nah i think they have different use and setup, Eben is all about that big red number and one shot(or you could use him as pseudo AOE caster with one of his module), Kay-chan is about consistent ST damage.
Tbf, Ceobe has been kinda struggling in the meta for a while, ever since enemies have started to get *both* high DEF and RES. Now that she has the base effect and upgrades, this massively helps against current enemies.
casters in general and ceobe specifically have been struggling for quite a while to keep up with other stuffs in the game man lmfao how is she close to good pre module
It's always been a scenario case imo In my case, she singlehandedly carried bosskilling on break the ice (that's pre-gg era for ya, and the only caster that can outreach degen disarm probably only her) albeit, using s3, but yeah, it's always by scenario case. Does her s3 have any niche against high def, extremely high res enemies? The 79% def ignore seems pretty strong, but I don’t know if it ever outclasses her s2 with res ignore.
Her S3 changes her target priority to the one with the lowest defense. It also changes the damage to physical and silences them for 5 secs at M3. It's actually pretty hard to find a use to use her S3. I could see her s3 having a much better use against if they started implementing annoying effects on flying enemies. Lappland could still attack them but only if she isn't blocking anything else,
I recently used her S3 during the Stultifera Navis event. She would prioritize and kill the Founders and Predators while Lappland was busy keeping a Brandguider or two in check.
Her s3's niche is more for silence than anything else. Like Lappy, it really depends if you need silence or not when picking that skill but because of the targeting priority, it tends to always silence the enemy you want.
