Much like Blaze, Thorns is back. The new Lord module give the OG single-target AFK operator new aggressiveness to tackle enemies. The high arts DOT to enemies(ranged especially) help him crack down high DEF fast. The 3:2 Physical:Arts DPS set is crazy good, making him arguably the best operator with mixed damage in kit.

One thing I kinda forget to mention:
Thorns' arts DOT is a fixed number regardless of his current attack, which means the now stackable DOT will help him out even more during off-skill. Yes it sometimes make enemies die faster which compromises his skill charging a bit, but he IS very threatening off-skill now, it can make the difference between life and death, or leak vs. no leak. That's also the reason why Quercus is no longer required in the second footage (2:25)
I'm not sure if this is a good place to ask but it's relevant to Thorns, so...
Logos' 2nd Talent gives a flat arts damage bonus to received arts damage. Does it affect Thorns' DoT?
Or Blue Poison's DoT (Since her DoT works differently, iirc)?
Or does it need to be strictly a direct arts attack?
@@fallenwisp5001 it does but the entire durations of the dot only trigger it once, and not every instance of damage in the dot trigger it if I don't remember wrong
When HG cooked in one patch Thorns+SA+Quibai modules and then there's Frostleaf
The module really feels like consolation prize for those E2-ed Frostleaf

I agree, while she should only inflict up to cold on every default attack (as in she can't freeze on default), letting her freeze on skill activation on Mod-Lv3 could be fair.
Making her cold rely on RNG like her S2 bind is just worse since it’ll just be unreliable.

Really cool how a complete non-factor of a talent was turned into an actual cornerstone of his kit. Stuff like this is what makes modules so fun when they're designed well

If for whatever reason they can't let her inflict cold on every bit (not inflicting freeze), I felt that they could’ve at least let her guaranteed to inflict cold during her skills attack.
25% just rely on too much RNG which feels more like a detriment.
His new outfit gives Thorns a crucial role as a laneholder backing up Vulcan and Wai Fu in the kicknights niche.
And people still call this mod bad. The math proves it's at least a decent boost to his damage output. Helps him catch up to today's standards.
I guess Wisadel and Logos broke people's perception of DPS and total dmg

I guess, I was hoping that they improved his DPH significantly, like how they did with SilverAsh's "deals increased damage to Elite Enemies"
But oh well, Thorns' increased stats + stacking DOT is actually make a big improvement now
yeah, people who judged modules bad just because of the difference in DPH is not that much is just need to broaden their horizon. Comparison video with and without module in the best and worst case scenario is the best indicator of how the module upgrade is good or not.
Thorns module is good despite what some people thinking 👌

Really love the module. It enhance Thorn overall capabilites as afk ops. People might still call it useless but i love it so much.
Seeing a side-by-side makes "a little" attack speed look way stronger than it feels.. Y'know besides Horn with Saileach lol
I'm so envious CN gets this stuff before EN does and I just have to sit here, in anticipation, for my favorite operator to get the new update.
Thanks Mr. Dragon for the video. Ever since I miraculously pulled Thorns in 10 pulls as a F2P from the Dorothy-Thorns banner a while back, he's always been one of my favorite carries. Very excited for his module.

Of the four cornerstone operators, it seems like Mountain gets the least improvement in mods
A bit of a shame, but then he's very cheap dp wise and very low maintenance for what he does :p
If all goes well, his second module is guaranteed to give him 15% Physical dodge. And it should upgrade the talent that already gives Physical dodge. If all goes well, he could become a true threat against Physical damage.
it's the price he pays for being one of the best set-and-forget units in the game
in calculations he gets 30% more dps
@@MindayKalana mountain is a 3+1 pump action shotgun, while thorns is a taurus circuit judge, search up on those guns and you'll see how much sense it makes.

As a player who lacks a lot in arts damage operator, i see this as an absolute advantage 👏 nice improvements HG
All of the lord modules are great, then there's Frostleaf module
She really should have guaranteed cold infliction (without allowing it to freeze on default) instead of a measly 25% with her already decreased ASPD, or at the very least make it so her skills guarantee the infliction.

We all know it's his skin that causes him to do more DPS, and not his module...
it seem that his module kind of have the same trade-off similar to cantabile S1
not having it upgraded mean longer to kill enemies means more DP/SP from 1 target,
having it upgraded make them more reliable but will hinder their DP/SP they can get from each target.
This module's existence only makes Blue Poison's module even more of a crime.

great, frost leaf module is a joke, HG 100% know that she is sht, despite that fact, she has now a sht module whit her, INSTEAD OF FIXING her WITH A MODULE HG made a 1 april joke on her, nice.
