Half dawn dish soap and half cooking oil. It’s a great budget lube when you don’t have actual lube available. Quality video. 👍

That was great safety advice you gave when inflating the tires to seat the beads, I’m glad now know when I install mine not to go over 30 psi in order to seat the tire on its bead

I was taught that if there is both yellow and red dots the red takes precedence over the yellow dot

In school I learned the first way and my teacher said it's the only way I then got taught how to clamp the outside of the wheel by a local tire shop sucks to hear the tire shops by you using the first method I learned

Yeah I mean it’s standard use and saves time so I get why they’d be preaching that way of doing it

Nice work and demonstration brother! Those T9s are gorgeous. Also, the bar handle method for beating/seating the bead super necessary. Good job, really nice editing as well.

Very informal. I love the comedy you put in the video.

Looking at Mayflower tire changers for an off-road shop. Realistically what's the largest diameter tire that you could mount with this machine? (I've read that the factory specs are generous and I'd like to make sure we can do 40" tires on a 17 or 20" wheel)

I’ve only done up to a 37in tire and was totally fine with this setup. I can’t speak for anything higher than that personally to be honest since I haven’t had the experience yet.

soap gets dried too quickly. i use good tire paste. and put A LOT on both sides of the tire! not to mount the tire. To help seat the bead with low psi on those low-profile tires you mentioned.

I always thought the red dot aligns with the valve stem 😅. So future reference the yellow dot aligns with the valve stem correct?

Man even I get confused all the time but I think you’re right. If there’s both a red and yellow dot, red takes priority and aligns with either a “mark” on the wheel (if available) or align it with valve stem if no mark.
Here’s an article that helps: www.tyrebaydirect.com/knowledge-base/tyres-explained-red-dot-vs-yellow-dot/

That tire wasnt over the duckbill in rear, the way it was riding on side it could cut the bead Just constructive criticism.

No i hear ya. I usually make sure of that with lower profile/stiffer side wall tires. I def have ripped through beads earlier when I first was learning to use these machines.
For tires with a softer/more malleable sidewall, there’s some forgiveness with respect to the duckbill rule.

You should not be telling people how to use starting fluid. That is something that should be taught in person by someone experienced. Even then it's a very unsafe method and that's coming from somebody that uses that method fairly often. Please edit this video and take that part out. It can severely injure and or kill somebody far too easily I've seen it happen.

I do mention that it’s dangerous and to do some thorough research before doing it if you decide to go that method. That’s how I learned about it along with some common sense.
I mean working on cars in general can be dangerous.
