    Just a little tip from a tire tech. Take the tire off with the valve stem under the duck head and put it on with the valve stem across from the duck head. older Ford vehicles will have TPMS sensors opposite the valve stem attached to with a band clamp you want to reverse the instructions for wheels with those. Personally I always break the bead either with the valve stem pointing to the sky or to the ground to account for any kind of sensors.

    The things I hate a mechanic to do for me - engine oil change, transmission fluid change, transmission replacement, brakes, rotors, suspension (ball joints tire rods, axels), tune-ups, lights, and electronics fix exhaust work (any), tires, radio and stereo work, hybrid batt, batt replacement, AC work, tire balance, alignment and any other work that would require me to pay them for their crappy work. I do all work on all brands I got myself - that is why they all have over 200K miles on them and still running flawlessness.

    Hey just a tip. I always start and end with my tpms sensor near the duck bill. when I begin I put it just on the counter clock side of it that way you can make sure the bead comes off by the sensor first so you dont accidentally damage it

    You forgot to change the valve stem and you got to clean the bottom and top of the rim because grim gets build up in those areas and if you leave that sometimes you will get leaks then add the grease on the rim and tiers like you did.

    Pretty sure if your tires only have a yellow dot then yes, line it up with the valve stem. If your tires have both a yellow dot and a red dot then the red dot takes priority and you align red with the valve stem.

    Hey just so you know you need to dismount the tire with the tpm sensor under the duck head and mount the tire with the sensor across from the duck head to avoid the possibility of breaking the sensor.

    for breaking the bead, keep the tpms sensor north to south, or directly opposite where you are trying to break the bead. this prevents any chance of damaging the sensor. some early tpms sensor model cars had sensors actually oppositte the valve stem, held on via band clamp. do your research for early model tpms sensor cars.

    How big of a compressor do you have to use to run this machine?

  • @billhayward2668

    I live in the rust belt,where on old vehicles,steel rims rust at the bead and are difficult to break.I'm on my 3rd manual tire changer and have a set of tires/rims right now where a bead sealer was used and it took me over an hour to do 2. I have to reinforce parts on this machine because,just like the others,it can't take the extra force needed to break the beads. Have you run into difficult bead breaking with this machine?

    • @carlg500ci7
      @carlg500ci7 6 місяців тому

      I have the same tire machine and I had to really work 2 r14" trailer tires .it was like they where glued on the bead.

  • @carlocalarco6718
    @carlocalarco6718 4 роки тому

    When placing the tire on the machine, the 4 claws have to be positioned toward the centre of the table... then when you put tire on machine you move the 4 claws outward towards the inside part of rim to hold it still... I have done thousands of tire changes and have never seen anyone ever move claws outward first and then draw claws back in to hold rim.. the way you did it, you can score the surface of rim where it seals the bead and also you had to release the claws to put air in tire... the proper way is to have the 4 claws grab the inside diameter of rim to hold rim still and also you can grab tire and raise it up to help seal the top bead when trying to put air in while claws are holding tire down... just thought I’d throw that in... the machine looks pretty good.. enjoy..

    • @carlocalarco6718
      @carlocalarco6718 4 роки тому

      Scott Graham... Your wrong buddy ! the inner claws as you call them have rubber pads on them and press up against the inside or underside going out against rim to hold it in place, aluminum or steel it don’t matter, there won’t be any scratches at all, that’s why there are thick rubber pads on claws..You don’t put the curved jaws over the bead like shown in video, because you may forget to release jaws after the tire is mounted and then try to seal bead to get air into the tire... the curved part of jaw over bead does not protect rim at all as there is no rubber.. I’m not sure where you got your info in using this type of machine but I’ve mounted and balanced and repaired thousands and thousands and thousands of tires over the years with and worked with a variety of so many sized rims, aluminum and steel... the way I do it, is the same way I see so many others do it and your telling me I’m wrong?

    • @carlocalarco6718
      @carlocalarco6718 4 роки тому

      Scott Graham And furthermore, you made mention spikes on the claws?.. What spikes? It’s only a rubber pad and the curved part of claw.. I don’t know where you got the spike or where the spike comes from.. I’m not sure what machine your using buddy but the ones i’ve used over the years have no spikes anywhere on claws....

    • @carlocalarco6718
      @carlocalarco6718 4 роки тому

      Scott Graham Hey Scott, I’m not trying to argue with you, but the type of tire machines I’ve worked with which are very similar to this one shown on video, the owners manual tells us to use machine like I’m describing.. all my co workers have always used tire machine like I have described and there have never been any problems what’s so ever.. all I can say is you change your own tires and I’ll change mine.. case closed... p.s. have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year... Cheers

    Good video. Thinking about purchasing one as well. Any issues so far? Recommend clamping from the inside for most wheels so you don't have to disengage clamp during airing up tire. Were you able to get the additional arms for the low profile tires? if not, I would just use another tire iron when dismounting tires.

    Start with the valve when removing a tire so it's the last thing to come around. Edit: You're still learning? Alright. I was absolutely terrified that you'd seat the bead with the clamps still on. Um. Best safety tip,do not push a tire bead on especially with the sensor in the wrong spot when doing so. You were very lucky,could've easily snapped the sensor,used no lubrication when taking the tire off so that was scary as fuck really. Fuckin hell this video scared me quite frankly. Also,keep ur hand on the sidewall to feel for any indication that the tire may be coming apart.
