Well said. I had bad chest pain a few weeks ago, was alone, but stupid me, had my house keys up the flight of stairs n couldnt go up. Rang my friend but she got wrong keys to my house! I had to go upstairs to let her in. Ambulance came after. It wasnt a heart attack but a sudden drop of bp n glucose. But i said my goodbyes to the world. I remained calm. Now i have a spare key for front door!

I thought i was sick, like having the flu and vomiting. Headache and fullness even tho I was vomiting. Something told me to go to ER...it was 4 in the morning...no chest pain or arm pain, alert, walking and talking. By the time I got to ER, my jaw and teeth hurt so bad.
I was walked into ER exam room while 6 nurses stood at the nurses station gabbing (slow night in the ER). After 15 minutes i got up and went to nurses station and asked to been seen...
Immediately diagnosed as having a heart attack and was in surgery 20 minutes later! Was in ICU for 4 days.
Had 1 blood clot at 100% blockage RAD, 95% blockage at LAD (widow maker). Always active but diabetic.
If something does not feel right DONT WAIT. I didnt have classic symptoms but taking action saved my life.❤ Doc says early action prevented muscle loss. Said I could climb Mt. Everest if I wanted...my comment...why would I want to do THAT? 😂

I was in same boat as you, got my landlord to drive me to ER and from that point on have no memory until 2 weeks later when I woke up with paddle burns on my chest and big scabs on my knees ( I apparently tried to fight my way out of hospital after being revived) . Took 22 minutes to get my heart started again . Fortunately doc was standing right next to me when I coded.
All I remember is I didn't feel right, and needed to go to ER. Trust your gut

Coughing effectively executes a Valsalva maneuver, which in turn aborts some arrhythmias.
Both the Valsalva maneuver and coughing can be effective for some types of arrhythmias, especially those that originate above the ventricles (like atrial fibrillation or SVT). However, they are usually not effective for more dangerous arrhythmias originating in the ventricles.

An important item I heard which didn’t even occur to me but makes perfect sense is when calling 911, go unlock your front door or apartment door to allow easy access for first responders. I would add, if you can, put any dogs or cats in a closed room. They won’t interfere with the help that arrives nor are they at risk for running out the door as help is coming and going.

Can't do that here in South Africa unfortunately because 1) The chances of anyone actually answering our emergency number, 10111, are slim. 2) If you leave your door open the EMT's will be walking into a house devoid of any furniture.

  • @JustinPoland-r5r
    @JustinPoland-r5r 2 місяці тому +6

As a paramedic for 15 years, I would say in addition to calling 911 go unlock your front door. You wouldn’t believe how many people forget about that and we get on scene and then they are immobile or unconscious, and we cannot access their residence without forceful entrycosting valuable minutes. Also, even during the daytime it’s helpful if you turn your porch light on it will help the emergency responders. Identify your house.

My 61 year old cousin passed away alone in her home from heart failure. She wouldn’t answer her phone or door, so after day 3 they got the building manager to open the door to her apartment, where she was found dead lying on her bed with her dog sitting steadfast by her side not budging.
Fore a couple of weeks prior and up to that point, she had been visiting and staying with family on a number of occasions. All the while she complained of significant back pain and general unwellness . She’d gone to see her GP, who did not investigate her issues as a possible heart issue and, thus, failed to pick up what was happening. Nor did my cousin ever consider going to the ER at her local hospital, which could have saved her life.

@yeesh9215 I'm sorry this took a while. I see an endocrinologist. Walking, walking, walking! Try some intermittent fasting too. Eat as much organic as you can, processed food and sugar is the devil and so evil! American food is poison. I jest, but not really. Fat is not an enemy unless you combine it with sugar. Food tracking apps help, it makes you realize how much you consume. I've watched more UA-cam videos than I can count; learn about the subject until you're an expert. Do you get enough vitamins and minerals? Magnesium has changed my life, I feel like a new person. Find out if you're missing these and take them, it makes a difference. ACV, Iodine, a multivitamin all organic, not synthetic. All this takes a long time to learn. Good luck.

What do you actually do when actually suffering the heart attack? Seems the only way to survive is to rely on others and do nothing until help arrives. If that is not an option, then what?

You need to schedule an appointment with your cardiologist to discuss your symptoms. During this visit, you should undergo testing for atrial fibrillation (Afib) to determine if this condition is affecting your heart. Early diagnosis and management are crucial for your heart health, so don’t delay in seeking this evaluation.

You should talk more about silent heart attacks. These are attacks that you dont even know your having. I went undiagnosed for 6 months having many silent heart attacks. Went to the doctors. They did EKGs. They took xrays and concluded that my back pain must just be arthritis or muscle strain. Finally, 6 months later, when the pain finally reached my chest, I called 911 and went to the ER. There they recommended I go to the Cardiac center where they can use a dye to detect the problem. Only way to detect it. It was a blocked artery. Normal EKGs didnt detect it. Enzymes were only slightly elevated. If you have a back pain, located right behind the heart, get that checked out.

An emergency acupressure point to prevent a heart attack if you don’t have access to aspirin is to pinch and hold the tip of your left pinky since it is tied to the heart meridian. I learned that from the video by Sri Sri Wellbeing called “Tips to Avoid Heart Attack | Emergency Point for Heart Attack”. It’s a good acupressure point to know to be proactive so you can get the heart attack symptoms you may be experiencing under control before help arrives.

Luckily she also had a doctor's appointment the next morning and when she told the doctor her symptoms he immediately checked her into the hospital...mild heart attack and severe stress were diagnosed. She's staying a few days in a private room with low lighting, soothing music and total rest. My dad was in his 50's, had a heart attack without knowing it. He was a truck driver and somewhere in or around Paris. He didn't feel well, back of his shoulders/his back caused him some aggravation, he called his boss he was coming home, unfortunately sick. So he drove to Amsterdam and actually right to the hospital there as he really felt like shite. He went in and he was placed in a bed immediately and needed several bypasses. When the doctor heard he drove his truck from Paris to Amsterdam he said my father had had an angel sitting on his shoulder during that drive back.
For the rest of his life he was on medication after this but he made it.

Hi! I am a nurse and a woman who had a heart attack 3yrs ago at 30.
It started with substernal chest pain. I thought a soccer ball hit my chest, but as I was breast feeding, i thought it was my 9m old son hitting to find the breast.
Over the next 12hrs, I went for a walk (foolishly) and I was severely exhausted just lifting my 9m old from car seat to stroller.
During the walk, my left arm went numb. I immediately went to buy aspirin, took 2, and got someone to drive me to the ER.
Got 3 stents because of blockages (100, and 90%) in two separate arteries.
Looking back, I had weeks leading up where walking up 4 steps were work for me. I thought I just was out of shape bc gyms were closed due to Covid, and I was resting at the tail end of my pregnancy and Mat leave (c section).
Always always always take an aspirin when in doubt. It will save your life. Carry it on hand, in your car, in your purse.

A couple years ago i had chest pain that didn't go away. (female) My daughter took me to an ER, and they said I was having a heart attack based on the troponin level in my blood. So, ambulance to a hospital with cardiologists, a day and a half full of all the heart tests...nothing wrong, no anomalies. Just chest pain and elevated troponin. Odd..but I never found out what elevated the enzyme. No problems since. 🙏

    • @life36899
      @life36899 3 місяці тому

Elevated troponin levels can occur due to a number of reasons other than a myocardial infarction (MI), including:
Heart failure: A potential cause of elevated troponin levels in the absence of coronary obstruction
Sepsis: A disease that can cause elevated troponin levels

Pulmonary embolism: A condition that can cause elevated troponin levels

Myocarditis: A cardiac disorder that can cause elevated troponin levels
Renal failure: A condition that can cause elevated troponin levels

Atrial fibrillation: A condition that can cause elevated troponin levels

Myocardial contusion: A condition that can cause elevated troponin levels

Hypovolemia: A condition that can cause elevated troponin levels

Stroke: Some acute ischemic stroke patients have elevated troponin levels

Chemotherapy: Chemotherapy can cause cardiotoxicity, which can lead to elevated troponin levels

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): Patients with COPD can experience troponin elevation
Elevated troponin levels can also be caused by false positives, which are often associated with fibrin clots, heterophile antibodies, alkaline phosphatase, and rheumatoid factor.
These are some things you can discount and some things you can further investigate with your doctor.

This guy isn't even a real doctor. It would help if he made this clear.

Learn Reflexology (esp. of the hands)-- when you feel heart pain, fluttering, etc. PRESS HARD & consistently firm, onto/around the the tip of the LEFT baby finger--with your right-hand thumb (under finger-pad) & curled index finger (atop nailbed). Do so for at least 30 seconds, followed by a general full, firm wrap-around of that same left baby finger with your entire right hand/fingers (grio it in fist mode, while massaging/pressing hard. And, maybe go back to firmly pressing just of the finger tip; alternate back & forth for a few minutes).
By then, you should experience some clear relief (of pains, flutters).
What this is doing is helping to open the body energy flow through the heart meridian /called, "chi", that affects/supports the heart organ with vital 'electrical' energy.

I'm 77 and had 2 heart attacks so far. I also have two stents in my heart. One heart attack was very painful. I hope you never have to experience one. Now, I carry two small metal vials that are attched to my keychain so they are always with me. One vial contains aspirin that I change once a year and the other vial contains Nitroglycerin. So far I've not had to use them because I've changed my diet and exercise every day. I also keep a list of my meds in a prescription bottle in the freezer, the paramedics will go there immediately upon entering your home. The fact that you are reading this doctor's thread is a good start on how to live longer and healthier.

Sounds like a good plan if you can always find your keys. So many people misplace their keys all the time.

I hope this channel goes on for a long time because it's been very helpful to me and helped others I'm sure. I went to the hospital a few days ago because of stomach upset and off and on diarrhea and this Dr. I believe his name was Dr.Sullivan did so many tests and did an X-ray he also checked my thyroid and did a blood test.... thankfully everything is working great but he did diagnose me with (GAD) generalized anxiety disorder which has caused new problems that I never thought possible. I wanted to also thank you for your prayers Dr.Mandel and I hope all the best for you because nowadays there are Dr's like you and Sullivan that are tough to find and when God says he's got ya then that's what he means and again I hope all the best for you and your family. ❤

Im in the UK and a few months ago I had serious breathing problems and following advice from a NHS advice line I called an ambulance. I never got one! Eventually managed to see a GP.
My GP phones me with results of blood tests and says Im at risk from diebetes and heart attack within the nect ten years.
On instructions from a warden for independant living I put up a key box in case of an emergency bought on line. Browsing on youtube it flagged up a locksmith showing you how to work out the locking number on the same key lock.
Im now not only at risk of heart attack stroke and diebetes but someone breaking into my home as well.!!!!!
