Full of dissatisfaction, full of desperation
No one fasts out of contentment - you fast because you want and desire something
Dissatisfaction drives fasting
The most Spiritually healthy people desire Christ strongest - they are most dissatisfied at the little bit of Christ they have
If God gives you a greater taste of Christ, it will only stir in you a greater dissatisfaction
It becomes perpetual, it becomes increasing, it becomes consuming, it becomes a snowball until you get to the point you say with the apostle Paul that to depart and be with Christ is far better
There's a healthy dissatisfaction that drives Fasting
It's saying to God: "You are my exceeding Great Treasure and I want you more than all else and I'm willing to go sell all else to have You and You alone"
That's very Glorifying to Christ. But fasting isn't just a manner of worship, it's also a means through which we seek God
