What are your thoughts on the Hollyland Mars 400S PRO?
No privacy/confidentiality seems to be a common but often overlooked downside. I can walk by your set with my receiver, tune in to your channel and steal your content.
Tested today, if you don't use dc power on receiver you just see distorted green video, also not having an HDMI through as a disadvantage.
@@chicagovisual Was going to ask about the HDMI through. I need this to record the on camera to my ninja V aswell as transmit to a mixer for live.
@@impact20twenty I find that it's pretty much robust and road ready. Hasn't given me any issues as long as it's been powered up prior to coverage it's been very satisfying
My Hollyland mars 400 pro Tx does not transmit any signal to my Rx. Please help
OMG .. what a day when I’m able to purchase one!
Great review👌🏻
I'm using the Atoms V on my canon R6 with doing photoshoots , will this device work as well with my current setup ? What is your recommendation
Greet review, would have loved to see some moving footage and distances tried. Renting two for an event to hopefully buy
hopefully i will buy this one day
Great review mate. Have you any knowlage about how would it work inside the football stadium (transmitting video footage from camera to the dugout on the sidelines to Ipad) as there's tons of signal and I'm worrying about interference with wifi signal.
Excellent produit pour nous les réalisateur
Just a quick ques is it possible to record the video in the camera's (Mirrorless bodies like Z series, Sony Alphas and Canon R etc) memory card and simultaneously make it go online through Atem Mini at several social platforms? like 2-3 youtube channels, insta, fb etc? Would be grateful to know.
The Aten Mini offers 4 inputs but just one output - so no.
Blackmagic Design ATEM Mini HDMI Live Stream Switcher
B&H # BLSWATEMMINI : bhpho.to/3y26bId
Designed for multicamera live streaming to the internet or broadcast applications, the compact ATEM Mini from Blackmagic Design provides gaming consoles, corporate computer streams, or HD cameras a four-input live production switcher with an integrated control panel. The four HDMI inputs are available on the rear of the chassis and they input up to 1080p60 video. There is also an HDMI output for a projector or external monitor, a USB Type-C output for streaming up to 1080p60 video to a computer, and an RJ45 10/100 Ethernet port for system management, remote control, and upgrades. >Mark
Got this for our mobile Sony pxw z150 cam for our church. Made the SDI connection into our ATEM 1 M/E Prod Studio but it doesn’t see it 😕. The units seem to be working, I can pick up the wireless signal with my phone but our ATEM doesn’t see it. The channels are correct and the units are in the correct places.
I want to update the firmware but i am mot getting the option for the same in the application, please guide
When was this released?
Epic!!!
In your opinion, would this be a good purchase for a school to record plays/musicals/ talent show/grad/athletics... to be live mixed on a Blackmagic switcher. (any issues with channels for 3 devices in the same space?) What advantage would the TERADEK Bolt 4K have to justify the price?
The Teradek Bolt 4K LT offers higher 4K resolution and greater transmission range.

Please can someone help me,my transmitter is not coming on,no light on the screen.
@b&h The Hollyland Mars 400S PRO doesn't have a HDMI through does it? I need to be able to connect my ninja as an external monitor for myself on set or for live streaming and then out to the RX to a mixer for live events.... With this in mind is there a latency difference between the 400 and the 300 dual hdmi?
Ignore me! I can loop in to the Ninja to record 4k and out of the hdmi to the 400s to TX the signal. I guess the TX will automatically drop the quality down to 1080/60 when it sends the signal to the RX right?
2 transmitter to 1 receiver is it possible?
Sorry quick question , can i use this with 2 cameras ? I only see one transmitter ? Please help
The system has a one-to-one set-up. Each receiver must have its own paired transmitter. >Mark
Will this work with a video camera, being sent to a computer for a Sports live stream, using OBS?
This product is not designed to be used for live streaming. The latency would not be acceptable. >Mark
@@BandH we would use it for broadcasting football games on a high school feild. Would not be further than 300ft. What would you recommend? It would be for an on Feild camera. And won't really be used for a picture in picture.
Great Video.Should we require mutiple receiver for computer if we are using more than one camera. There should have been one receiver for multiple transmitter .
You can use a maximum one transmitter with 2 receivers on the same channel, or 1 transmitter with 0 Receivers + 4 APP, or 1 transmitter with 1 receiver + 2 APP for wireless monitoring. >Mark
I’m trying to buy a transmitter given that already have a receiver and anywhere I have the option to buy it. Any suggestions ? Already have a set and works great.
Please e-mail us your details: askbh@bandh.com >Mark
Question about antennas: Do recommend a different antenna to improve distance and to combat interference?
Additional longer-range antennas are available for this device. >Mark<

I used blacmagic video switcher which require SDI input, and i buy Hollyland mars 400s pro. I have some proble with my hollyland, when i used my 3g SDI cable to connect all the device that i need, my blackmagic video switcher cant read the hollyland with SDO cable, but when i changed the connection with HDMI, my blackmagic video transmitter can read the hollyland. I dont know whats wrong with the device. Could you help me? Or do you have any suggestions?
Please check that you are using suitable SDI cabling. if that does not remedy the issue, feel free to e-mail us: askbh@bandh.com >Mark
that. is. so. damn. cool.
How many systems can run simultaneously?
The latency looks pretty bad at 1:18, is this acceptable for a live situation?
Up to 3 sets can be used in the same location. Choose different frequency channels with the number difference between each two channels bigger than 2 Place each RX at least 0.5m away from the other Place all RX 1.7m above the ground. The latency is rated at 0.08 seconds (80ms). That should be fine for most applications Jaden.
@@BandH So, on the monitor at 1:20, there is a lot more that 80ms of delay. Is that reflected on recorded video? Is that just from the monitor?
Yeah, that looked very bad. If that is 0.08, I’ll stick with hdmi.
Hello. Can I use this on my DJI Rs2, using active track for workout demos, used for livestreaming sending this to my OBS. Thanks in advance, Jeremy.
Yes, the Hollyland Mars 400S PRO transmitter weighs in at about a half pound and will connect to the DJI RS2 via a shoe Adapter or a 1/4"-20 mounting thread. >Mark
@@BandH Thank you! I just finished speaking with a rep at B&H and got an invoice for all I need, pretty pumped!
Those this process requires the use of internet when doing live streaming ?
Yes an internet connection will be required for livestreaming.
Using the Hollyview app for iOS or Android, you can monitor your video transmission in real time via a Wi-Fi connection as well as live stream directly from the receiver via your computer using a USB Type-C adapter. The app also allows you to install optional channel scanning firmware enabling you to easily find the strongest transmission signals. The transmitter can simultaneously transmit to up to one receiver and two apps, or to a total of four apps without the receiver. >Mark
I bought this product less than a year but the transmitter can not come on,please can someone help me information about the repairs
Email askbh@bhphoto.com for one of our videos experts will be able to help you.
Can this be used with the Atem mini?
yes
Hi thank You for video - i have qestion: has receiver also option to transmit preview Signal on wifi? Because i saw that it also has wifi password on list option
It will transmit video to a monitor of choice at 1080p60. The receiver can output an HDMI and SDI signal at the same time. >Mark
@@BandH yeah right thanks - i know. I got this transmiter. But i was asking about wifi in receiver. What for receiver shows wifi password if it doesnt give preview 💁🏼♂️ Thats sh**ty
My signal to my switcher is coming out green any clue what that could be?
Try checking all the cable connections and check using other cables. Especially critical with any SDI/HDMI connections. >Mark
I’m getting a lot of problems updating my Hollywood 400 there is no information on how to

See I told u these things were great
My Hollyland mars 400 pro Tx does not transmit any signal to my Rx. Please help
Try deleting and then adding the mobile app again. Be sure to enter the WiFi connection interface of mobile phone and find out the WiFi named as "HLD + DEVICE ID", and input the WiFi password to connect >Mark
could the receiver livestream to youtube from a mobile phone?
The receiver has an HDMI output, so conceivably, if your mobile device accepts an HDMi input, then it might be posible. >Mark
Hi, is this compatible with Roland VR-4HD?
Yes, the Hollyland Mars 400S PRO SDI/HDMI Wireless Video Transmission System
can work with the Roland VR-4HD.
Would you like to make a video about 3 camera ( livestream yolobox ) with hollyland . How does it work???
If you would like to have a 3 camera up using both the Hollyland and the YoloBox to stream, you can. You will need a set of Hollyland transmitters and receivers for each camera. Have the Hollyland transmitter plugged into each of the camera's HDMI output. Then plug in the receivers to each of the HDMI ins on the YoloBox. There your camera feeds will show on the YoloBox. You will need the YoloBox Pro, this model has 3 HDMI inputs.
@@BandH could you make a video using Wifi without any cables ( 400S SDUHDMI Wireless Video Transmission Hollyland ) with YoloLiv YoloBox Pro. I will be more than happy. Thanks 🙏
Can we take an sdi out if we use an hdmi camera
Yes David. The HDMI input signal may be outputted via the receiver's HDMI and/or SDI outputs. >Mark
What happens if I input a 12G signal in it?
The Hollyland Mars 400S PRO cannot process a 12G SDI signal. >Mark
If I hook my camera up straight to my Ninja V monitor, the colors are true. But when I hook my camera to the transmitter, and receiver is connected to the Ninja V, Red in real life is Blue on the monitor, again plugged straight into the camera, Red is red. So what is going on with the Mars400S Pro? What settings do I need to change?
Please check your cabling to the monitor and all of your monitor settings. Additional questions? Please e-mail us: askbh@bandh.com >Mark
@@BandH Was this ever resolved? I have the same issue and have been on support with Hollyland and Atomos have never been able to figure this out.
Can you power this with a DTap?
Yes. The Hollyland Mars 400S PRO SDI/HDMI Wireless Video Transmission System
BH #HOMARS400SPR may be powered via a D-Tap set-up:
Hollyland D-Tap to 2.1mm Barrel DC Power Cable for Mars 300/400/400S

Powers Mars 300/400/400S TX or RX Unit
Male D-Tap to 12 VDC Barrel Cable
Cable Measures 23.6" in Length
Power your Mars 300, 400, or 400S transmitter or receiver with the D-Tap to 2.1mm Barrel DC Power Cable from Hollyland. The cable connects to a separately available D-Tap power source, such as a professional V-mount or Gold mount battery, and plugs into your receiver or transmitter with the 2.1 VDC barrel connector. The cable measures 23.6" in length.
@@BandH bought... Thx
i am looking for a system for live, but seems like this model don't fit on live situation, 0.08sec looks like not much, but on 1:19, it look like very unacceptable
This is an excellent system for the money. At 1:19 we are focusing on the small monitor in the foreground. >Mark
Around 5:10 they show the latency. Tbh it looks way over 0.08 seconds. I'm looking for a live set up too and the latency in the video just isn't workable. Did you find any other options when you were looking?
Apart from that it looks good. Having battery slots is nice, but the latency is just too much, especially when you're trying to sync audio and multiple cameras.
Yeah, that is waaaay more than 0.08 seconds. I was hoping this video would convince me to buy but it’s done the opposite.
I discovered that the HollyLand devices, unfortunately, convert framerates to whole integers 🤓 23.976 converts to 24, etc. This is really only a problem when I bought this same model and tried to sync two cameras to my Atomos Sumo 19 in [switching mode] so I could see both feeds on one screen. Camer A via SDI, Camera B through the Hollyland. Framerates 23.976 always bump to 24, 59.94 always to 60. This 2-up view will not work unless both video feeds are the exact framerates and resolution (specific to the SUMO 19). I see that there are external boxes out there (DECIMATOR MD-LX) that will convert framerate ($200) but really I all I simply want is to have A-Cam and B-cam on the same monitor (2-up) for my client rather than lugging another monitor and/or boxes with extra power just for the b-cam.
Anybody else found a workaround or solution? @B&H Photo Video
Please e-mail us: askbh@bandh.com >Mark
@@BandH sent the email thanks -david
Good quality video but if u use wireless microphone it will disturb your mic frequency.... I have to use uhf for your wireless mic but still there'll be disturbance but not as bad as rf
There should not be any issues when using quality wireless microphone systems. The Hollyland Mars 400 Pro uses 5 GHz. >Mark
@@BandH I use sennheise ew100 G2 but why when I cross between the transmitter n receiver my g2 have interference frequency?
Can you send HDMI and get sdi out?
Yes you can.
SDI and HDMI Inputs and Outputs. The input signal will match the output signal. There is no conversion. >Mark
@@BandH What happens if I input a 12G signal in it?
The mounts are easy to break.
while your ams in the monitor are up, your arms in reality are down , so the delay is not 0.08 secs, I think it´s a lot more than that. I have seen othes video that show this much latency, useless in my opinion
