Thank you! I'm buying a set for my DJ company. At some weddings couples want two projectors usually no more than 40ft away from each other and a clear LOS. This will be prefect with a little power bank under each projector table making the system appear to be really wireless. Thanks for the clear detailed review!
I also purchased the base version of this (without antennas). Used it for a live event as a roaming camera, it worked out well and the battery life was great. Canon R6 These are a good deal on a budget
Bought mine about a year ago at BH on sale for less than $300. LOVE the set. Gerald Undone actually did a review of these with a different name, re-branded for less money.

To anyone interested in buying from Hollyland, know that once the product is discontinued they offer NO support, NO downloads, NO documentation - basically if you didn't keep or download the latest firmware when it was available, you're shit out of luck. The Original Mars 300 (not the new PRO version) is not even 5 years old, and their support won't send me the documentation or latest available firmware update - they didn't even bother answering my e-mail.
Thanks for this! Very helpful. I was wondering if the 300 Pro Enhanced transmitter works if you choose not to add the external antennas? Does it still have the in-built antenna? I'd like the option for it to be more compact if I don't need the extra connection effectiveness.
Such a great question. I reached out and asked Hollyland this specifically after our first day of filming. Short answer is you need the antennas on with the enhanced model. There actually are no no antennas inside this transmitter so it is very different from the standard model. However, I thought there was because you can get "some" signal over to your ipad and receiver, but it's just pretty bad reception. And I guess thats because it gave a signal out without any amplification from an actual antenna. So you will need to decide if you'd rather have the compactness or the potential stronger signal. I don't think it will effect the range either way though.
I really don't get the purpose of the app. It's a great monitor but none of the changes I make like sharpness of focus get outputed to the hdmi. I may be trying to do something that it's not designed to do. I use it as a wireless camera for live streaming in OBS or Vmix but the big strip of buttons at the bottom seem to do nothing to the output image.
Hi ! Thank you for the interesting video. Do you know if I can vertically flip the video signal on the Hollyview app? I plan on using the Hollyland transmitter with an iPad on a teleprompter. Thank you for your feedback 👍
So I could sell my external monitor, buy this, buy the new iPad mini and use that as the external monitor? No cables, hardly any lag. If so I’m sold. How good is the focus peeking?
Does the wifi work consistently? I used a Cineeyes and by the 2nd day it wouldn't connect. I need one of these on my gimbal because even the Smallrig hdmi cable throws the balance off. It's crazy that the moza air 2 doesn't have internal hdmi. I would love to try using one of these with a pair of AR glasses, especially when running the gimbal.
Good question. As long as I had the antennas screwed in yes. It was reliable. On the first day of shooting I didn’t realize how important they were because it still kind of works without them. But once I put them back on it was great. As far as putting it on a gimbal make sure to get a little longer hdmi cable to give the gimbal room to move. This was one challenge I also had the first day was too short of a cable to the RS2. But it is so helpful to have another person see if you got the shot when you’re walking with a gimbal.
Hi, I recently bought the Hollyland Mars 300 Pro. Was easy to set up but the problem is that is a fluctuation on the video every two seconds. Somebody told me is stutters or jitters. I changed the HDMI cables, I changed the Portable field monitor on the receiver side and still got the stutters. Even on the Hollyland app I can see this fluctuation. Do you know the cause of this?
You certainly could. It's a way to get ride of some wires. However, if you have the option to run a cable and it wouldn't get in the way, that will be more reliable.
I am planning to livestream something wirelessly with my c70. Would it work if I got the Hollyland Mars 300 Pro and connect the receiver end to a laptop from which I would run OBS?
10k subs and that company wants you to send back the product? Ask them to watch your video and see if they still want you to send them back the product. Seems to me that a commercial like this is well worth the cost of the product, that they can write off. C'mon Hollyland Mars, you got your money's worth - give him the product and then ask him to do a follow up after a few months. Good review Chadwick
Hahaha, of course, such an excellent video is to give the machine as a gift to people who have worked hard~ We welcome photographers who are as good as this channel with an average of 1K views to apply for free evaluation and sample submission~
Hey Jim, first off - you're awesome. Hollyland is giving me the product to keep for free. What I was trying to communicate at the beginning of the review was that they weren't paying me to do the video and didn't have any say in it (standard gerald undone bit, if you follow him). I'm super thankful they reached out and did though because I would have continued to look the other way on wireless video, thinking it couldn't be good enough to actually use. I was wrong about that. More Resolve stuff is coming next week :). Having fun doing both tutorials and reviews as the right stuff comes up.
I have been pleasantly surprised with how well the whole 300 pro system has worked. I can't compare it to the 400 because I just haven't used it but I can highly suggest their products from my use so far. If SDI is important then for sure stay clear of the 300 model.
I wish someone explains how to set it up. Meaning the menu the app etc. this does NOT COME WITH ANY DOCUMENTATION. On their website there is like 5 pages BULLSHIT PDF. Whyyyyyyy. I am a tech nerd and I am stuck at no video for 48 hours. Also how do I pair these? Do I hold the button? No explanation. So so so so so stupid

Great to hear. The no external system seems nice and compact.
Thanks for the input!

Congrats on 10K ! You deserve it. 👍.
You were one of the first! Not sure I deserve it, but I’m extremely thankful for the support that has gathered around this channel.
👍10.3K subs as I type, congrats Chadwick. I predict many more.
Thank you so much Martin! You’re the best.
Chadwick your video was exactly what I was looking for ! Thank You !
This video was extremely helpful from start to finish just ordered mines a few days ago.
That is so great to hear this helped you out. I think you'll be super pleased with it.
I'm looking forward to you surpassing 12K soon!
Fingers crossed! Thanks Keith.

How do you think this would work in a church with hundreds of people (livestream) ? Interference issues?

I'm basically just trying to get rid of HDMI cable coming from camera to monitor on a RS3 Pro gimbal, is this the way?
So I could sell my external monitor, buy this, buy the new iPad mini and use that as the external monitor? No cables, hardly any lag. If so I’m sold. How good is the focus peeking?
Yes, Matt, you hypothetically could. Focus peeking on the app is not as good as an Atomos, but it’s still not bad.
How do you adjust the brightness on the OLED screen?

Is the latency low enough to do an interview at a sportsevent, does not have to be perfect lip sync. But low enough to not bother.

Hi, If we use sony fx3 in 4k recording and wanna do a live streaming along with it using mars 300 pro. Will It supports? please advice
It will stream out at 1080.
I just got a Mars 300 pro but it keeps dropping.
Do you also have the it looks kind of choppy every few seconds? I got this problem and I have no idea why...
I am planning to livestream something wirelessly with my c70. Would it work if I got the Hollyland Mars 300 Pro and connect the receiver end to a laptop from which I would run OBS?
Yep for sure. However if you have the option to wire in with sdi or hdmi that will always be more reliable.

I’ve been looking after Hollylands hdmi/sdi version 400pro just for versatile usage. Not got view of app and seems interesting enough

@@CreativeVideoTips I’ll wiser byt end of the week. Just ordered set. Do need both hdmi and sdi connections
@@CreativeVideoTips yup. Too bad unit got was defective - will get replacement
There is slightly delay I have the same device
For sure. However unless you are trying to pull focus, I didn’t find it to be an issue for monitoring on set.
Mine is not connecting 😢😭
hey I'm planning to buy one can you please tell me if there are any issues when used outdoor if it is hot outside??
please reply
Thanks for watching - I haven't had the units out in the heat at all yet. I don't suspect there would be any issues, but haven't tested for that.
