My 2 cents, don't destroy all the orc banners to get the keys. If you run out of black diamonds you'll want to farm the orcs. If you leave the banners up the orcs respawn. You can open the orc chests with your pick ax.
i just reached the forge yesterday, when you knock down the center pillars (where the goblins spawn), not only do they not respawn but they all drop the key to get into the chests sitting there. but using a pickaxe will break it a lot faster compared to the axe. we also knock down the bottom walls on the buildings we arent interested in. gives a ton of wood and stone and it collapses everything up top.
Additional Tips:
1. Mauls/Battlehammers do increased damage to armored enemies, Axes do increased damage to trees and unarmored enemies, and Swords are best for hitting multiple enemies.
2. Build an Oven ASAP. I'm guessing you missed this because if youre at the place with elven wood, you should be able to make it. Ovens allow you to make meals and take them with you. Think of these as health potions but also eliminate hunger.
3. Enchant your weapons at the Rune Table. I waited too long to do this myself and it helps immensely. The lightning enchant is great especially when hordes or sieges occur.
Thank you!!!!
First outpost the place right across from it has a oven you can repair.
@@RagnarraI didn’t know that lol
My advice for those who are stressed out by the sieges:
Don't build your base on the ground, but somewhere up high. The higher you go, the less likely you are to get attacked by bats. That should also be the height at which archers won't be able to see you.
Platforms help you in climbing. You don't need actual ground to place wood or stone floor. Just attach it to a wall (natural or built). You can also place any of the required objects up there, like hearths or forges.
Sieges at my high base always end without enemy contact. They just give up and disappear after ~60-90 seconds.
I actually built my base in the forget of narvi and I built it up high because orcs kept spawning in there at an annoying rate
Always craft wall torches or standing torches. Darkness consumes Morale. Also if you break pots you'll get seeds. Find dwarven villages near water areas and you'll often find plant pots where you can plant your seeds
Also, you can start all your furnaces and foods and then go to sleep. Once you wake up all of them will be done instantly. No need to wait. Also, later on down you’ll be able to craft meals to go. I’m in the mines now building up my third camp and then going to move on. Playing solo b4 I try playing with others, helps keep the experience fresh 😄
I'm doing the same no where near as far as you are though what do you play on?
@@jamesjacobs8864 you’ll get there eventually. It’s pretty fun. I stopped playing a good while ago. But when I did it was PC. With all the new updates I may consider getting it for PS5.
Hit R and you can throw stuff. Helps a lot with the forge pieces.
Wish I had seen this (or at least thought of this) about 20-minutes ago. I just did the forge pieces and it could have been a less clunky experience had I thought of this. Thanks for sharing though.
Oh man, carried those two pieces for ages. And they were also present near the forge, i just didnt see them. Instead i went back to my camp and crafted :(
Once you get an oven you can make lembas bread and jerky and stuff which you can take with you for food and they heal you too
The deconstruckt tip was a lifesaver!
Why do some people never look at the key mapping options?
There will always be games with unusual keys/functions, that aren't explained anywhere.
Rock and stone! Wait...
ROCK ANND STOOOOOONNEE
Did I hear a Rock n Stone!?
Guys I need help because this game isn’t rock and stone enough for me so I need a new phrase
ROCK AND STOOOOOONE!
If you don’t rock and stone you ain’t coming home.
When you progress through the game, you can craft an Oven (there is also a cooking pit later).
You can craft certain food/meals to heal and keep on you on the go.
There are healing foods that you can use when in danger.
There is QUITE a depth to this game which is impressive.
The Oven cooks the Ration class of food items. All these Rations can go into your inventory. The Hearth cooks all the other stay in camp meals.
Also, the Hearth foods DO spoil while the benefit of Oven-cooked rations is that they NEVER spoil, hehehe
I spotted the first 2 Narvi repair items but didn’t even bother with the orc-men camp so I only had to walk one item all the way from the Elven Woods entrance to the forge.
Also, your roll/dodge has I-frames (I think it’s for the entire animation). That’s a great way to manage hordes solo.
During combat don't just spam the attack button, holding it down allows you to do a power attack for much more damage. Took us quite a while to learn that little nugget.
Works well with dealing with five orcs all at once heh
The size of hordes does scale up with more players, the hordes are just very large.
I was wondering about this.
We were able to store roast meat for later by having a character with full inventory (and maybe full belly?) grab meals which then fell on the floor and could be stored for later. Maybe just a glitch but super nice early game. Or try destroying the table thats full of food (using x) Dropped meals can be eaten on the go, rushing home during a tough fight sucks.
If you craft a coal and then craft any meal food (that requires the meal table) when you collect the coal you'll get the meal as well in your inventory
The other big thing...make sure before you put your bedroll down after setting up a base, make sure all the walls etc are repaired/blocked with new walls. And/or make your own hearth etc on the top of buildings...ie if you need to parkour up to it, the orcs/goblins wont be able to figure it out, and as long as you go defeat them and keep them from tearing the whole building down you will be better off.
The Blue Meter is actually how much armor you have, There is a darker shade of blue behind how much you're wearing. IF you hit TAB to open your inventory and look down where those meters are you'll see that it tells you. Armor, health, and food. From top to bottom. Not light level....
5:45 nooo! I'm sorry you had to do that, man! Luckily for me, I found the pipe piece first and figured you'd just need to look around there. All you need to get up is one or two stairs pieces, no matter how awkwardly placed they are, as long as you can drop onto it, all good
its just the secon day of owning this game for me thank you for the great video and the comments are awsome info to =)
Hey man!!! Thank you so much for all the tips!!! Great content!!!
Repairing statues !!! Thank you i'would never notice this without your video
i love this game, dont have a clue what im doing yet but its still fun af 😂😂 thx for the vid and tips!
Super. I'm really struggling with iron as I have made more camps towards that Elven area. It seems to not return full amount from deconstructing things. Fingers crossed finish base near Elven area soon and get forge going.
Very helpful early beginner Tipps, thanks mate.
Great video and very informative. Is it possible to remove the damage counters in order to increase the immersion in Return to Moria?
Played this game all day today soo much fun
to discover many features of any game, start by going through the command options (the key mappings).
it would have shown you the deconstructing option from the start :)
as a non-US player, it is often an obligation just to be able to move anyway.
Looks pretty cool. Thanks for the tips, TV!
thanks man, definitely a couple of things i missed today.
If you cook food in the roasting pit, and log out right before it is complete. Log back in and it will be done. When you try to take it it will fall, you can’t pick it up at that point… but if you log back out and in, you can pick up the dish and take it on the go.
Some meals are classed as 'Rations' and you can take those with you.
You can take food with you buy using an oven
Let me catch a so called self respecting dwarf using anything "elven" and I'll shave his beard.
What if someone chose a Dwarf with no beard? Would you then shave their head?
Not me but just saying it was an option lol
I don't know who you are but I know I like you 😆
It's the fourth age, they kissed and make up.
for those forge parts, the first one often has two of the three peices just lying around the room, look for them and just make the last one thats missing
The last one (pipe for me) was outside of the forge in the big orc structure
Tip: Press & Hold "E" to automatically collect items on the floor en masse.
Cool game! First ive seen. Is there good combat? Was the bear killable?
Yes and yes
Combat is awful but u can kill bears they drop hide and meat
Combat is actually quite okay, certainly not awful, if you can manage using a block key. Maybe a bit too easy. It really just lacks variety and impact.
There are lots of attack variants but the game does not tell you about any of them. You have to figure them out. There are multiple charge variants, light attack variants, shield attacks. So it isn’t that bad at all
Bears are super easy to kill by just rapid firing the bow.
This one is for the offline players, if youre playing on version 1.00 or 1.01, some of the statues are bugged and wont give you recipes. I got all the way down to the Pump House without the Erebor ringmail and got my progression got halted because enemies were to strong and numerous for low tier equipment. Version 1.02 fixes this and youll have to go back and rebuild the statues but you will get the recipes now.
The platform/quick build was part of the tutorial stuff they did do
Would you recommend this game? It piqued my interest with its trailer
I would recommend it if you like survival based games like "ARK", "The Forest" or Minecraft. The world design is quite remarkable and rewards exploration.
Maybe avoid it if you need great stories or complex combat for entertainment.
its free on EPIC games RIGHT NOW! i dont know if you got it in the last year. LOL.
I had no idea this game existed. Interesting. Good to see you having fun.
It came out today!
I looked it up. Survival crafting? I am out but I hope everyone else has fun.
Great video! You should do another one that Mentions how to add way points to the map. This comes in handy when you find a Muznaken(sp?) shrine and the Ranger's Camps. Helps to find them again when you get the items for them. And in that you can talk about the shrines, statues, journal pages and the camps. Keep up the great work!
glad you're making it work as a variety streamer!
i think you can make a stove or something to craft ready meal. also thanks for the tips. i hope they will drop black diamond but i think i will have to manualy move item from my first base...
Where do you get the recipe for the door? I got the wall with door opening, but no door.
Did you already figure this out? It's on the far left of the build menu, the icon looks like just a door.
That stone door opening is just an opening and useless to put a door in. You have to build a Simple Door, which is an all-in-one stone wall section with door. Perhaps later in the game, a stone door insert is an recipe option.
not a fan of how they handle armor in this game, just figured I would put that out there in case someone had some insight I do not.
What's the blue thing in the top right? Also is there a way to heal in the field? Instead of eating meals at base.
The blue thing in the top right is just a notification counter. Make an oven everything you cook in that can be carried to eat later. Some are better than others... a key ingredient for the best spawns im the elven areas
Get the adventurers pack so that you can carry more inventory. I spent endless hours havinf to travel back to camp to unload inventory
My one concern with this game was not having a true "home base", which is something I enjoy in survival games. Is it possible to still keep a large base of operations or are you constantly moving to new areas and starting new bases?
Yeah that's definitely a drawback of the game. I'm the same way, I want to plant my roots and really make a big home base with all the bells and whistles. And there is fast travel in the game, but it has limitations. But you will definitely be constantly progressing so you will be rebuilding all of your resources and forge needs everywhere you go.
You get fast travel options for your base so you could just travel back and forth, that way you can have a main base you just go back to.
I made my 'main base' at the Great Forge. As I venture deeper, I just make rudimentary bases that include a fast travel
The game doesn't force you to give up old bases, nor will it prevent you from returning there.
I've made a "home base" at the start of the game and keep walking back to it frequently. Take note though, I'm a gamer without ADHD-like problems and really enjoy the view of the landscape so much that walking back and forth never worries me.
The only thing you need to be aware of is that you should absolutely build outposts as you travel onward. Sometimes the way back is too far for the time you have available (There is a day/night cycle, despite being underground). I'd also recommend to not plan on building a home base before the elven area. You'll get more resources there.
Im working out of one main base just before elven quarter and am now 3-4 zones further. Later unlock of fast travel helped a lot
Cheers about the statues. Didnt know. New player
Can you turn on the lanterns everywhere??? I find the torches and wall torches dont give off enough light and feel like im wasting material
What is the number in the top right corner?
Ps great info
It's just counting the number of new tips/lore entries/quest updates you haven't checked yet. It's kinda buggy though and doesn't always accurately count. I'll have 8-16 still even after reading everything.
Keep it pushing TV!
The Oven makes meals to go
I got to the mines and I repaired all the statues I found and the only armor and weapons I had were iron hills gloves and iron sword. Procedural generation blows.
So how do i upgrade my storage to carry more. And is there a point to this game.
you can eventually find a recipe for a backpack with more space by repairing statues. and yes, this game has a campaign
I'm pisses because I've fixed every statue in the beginning area, the Elvin Glade, and several in the mines, and all I ever get are gloves & helmets!
I never got anything for the chest or legs!!!!!
I'm already wearing the Erebor gloves with tshirt & pants!
That comes later still.
@@Timithos
Hm...It is strange.
In my game, first armor was gloves, then chest and helmet. I have yet to find the second part of the pants blueprint.
shields DO NOT block all damage. the bear, for instance (the one attacking you as you incorrectly stated that), has an attack on his hind legs that can't be blocked or parried. use your dodge roll!
Blue meter is your armour inventory menu says this food stamina and Armor
i want to listen to dwarf x elf blacksmith banter by the first great forge
Isn’t the blue meter your armor?
I always cook my food before I use the bedroll and then eat when I wake up. Good then until the next night.
I'm looking at your map at 8:07 and I'm assuming that the story version of the game has the same map. So let me ask you this. Where the hell do I find the statues or whatever that has the steel weapons blueprints that I need. I can't really fight the enemies in the Mines of Moria as my iron sword barely does anything against them.
Campaign map is still procedurally generated as well, my single player and my multiplayer campaign are both different layout
@@codyebner986 Yeah, I figured that out not long after posting the comment, and I'm still looking for a few missing statues and such that seem to evade my grasp even though I have moved onto a new area that requires better equipment. Thats what it feels like every new area your equipment needs to be upgraded again and again.
How in the WORLD do you make stairs? I am trying to build a multi level base and I can't find any schematics for stairs.
Using the oven you can bring food with you
Do you know the non-pc plebe ways to do these commands, because this doesn't help me at all.
On xbox, deconstruct is at the bottom of the build menu. The quick platform is one of the arrow keys, can't remember which right now.
Having a look at the controller settings (key mapping isn't quite the right word, but can't think what is), will show where things are that you don't have to be in a menu to get to.
Do the ores replenish or is it limited?
Don't destroy their banners
Wait, there's a deconstruct function? Holy crabcakes, how did I miss that?!
Hello from The Kingdom of Norway 🇧🇻 How are ya? I was wondering if anyone still play this game? I just bought it on Steam and would like to play it with someone. Best wishes.
Is there AI dwarfs to play with? Or you by yourself? Cause none of my friends want to play it.
very good man
THX!
If you make an oven you can bring food with you.
Do they seriously only let you build in the 4 cardinal directions??? I can't line up walls to a lot of the se pre existing buildings and its dumb.
Dude this isn't on console is it? Looks sick
Not yet. It will be.
It is now 😂
How do I get someone to play With Me? I can really use someone to help me out and watch my back And I can watch those.
Bro I went too far into the mines of moria and lost all my shit by a spider 😭
Craft an oven. Let's you make on the go meals
Best tip ever: Don’t waste Elven Wood (unless you’re willing to raid multiple worlds over and over)
Wonder how that would be a problem. I never even took down a single elven tree myself, but just collected the remains that the bears leave behind, and still never run out of elven wood.
Wether you cut it down or bear runs through it that tree is gone. If you play solo it wouldn't be a big issue I guess. We played as 6 and we ran out of elven wood before we even discovered Barazinbar.@@Kijinn
Drink Ale before rest to get a better buff
missed kill the totem to get the key and they stop spawning in your way
yes you can take meals on road you need build a oven
Such a great game
The blue meter is actually your armor..
No not that one, the pale blueish one underneath your health.
hmmm telling people how to repair the forge isnt really a tip but a spoiler, now i dont need to figure it out myself....
Dude you bugged me out. I was going back n forth. When twitch had an add I went to UA-cam. Then poof gone. Lol
Don't you think it's abit too much to have build a hearth near all your construction pieces...
The reason why i've abandoned the game after like 1 hour, hordes are ridiculous and those few things i've crafted in my base they destroyed most of it because they were so many. I just disinstalled the game afterward. They have to tone down when you play solo.
Man a remake of Return of the King would be nice
Or just play on custom difficulty and adjust the enemy mob sizes and frequency of random attacks etc. Im playing for the story and love how easy the game is. Lol
Dude your killing me. Lol find pokets of light.....craft a torch.....cant take food with you.... craft an oven and make bit long and lampurous bread bam you can take food with you
ROCK & STONE
Why is this titan so short
Turn your microphone sensitivty down bro
Here are my tips
1. play a better game, like Ark, or Conan Exiles, or Valheim, or Grounded, or watching paint dry
It's legitimately one of the worst designed games I've ever seen in my life. Apparently anyone can get the LOTR license now.
For the algorithm
Well, I wouldn't really call that tips.
Nice video but your keyboard sucks for UA-cam videos.
Crossover with console and pc players
Ight so no secret bridge building tips got it
If I get this game can I have a female dwarf?😂 like , can I customise my own female dwarf that's all I wna know
yep
