I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for this advanced routine. I am currently learning Arabic and the class moves at a breakneck pace with about 100 words per week - which I'm sure is nothing for you. However, I've always struggled with memorizing and retaining new vocabulary. I've followed your method for just one day and I am already retaining new words. I was worried for a while that my usual struggle with vocabulary would get in the way of my want to learn, however this video has elevated that worry. I can not thank you enough. I've subscribed to your channel and will be recommended your retention routines to other students of language.
the thing is, making stories takes time. for me, 10 unfamiliar words - 20 min to make stories. maybe . but I agree that making stories is good method :) and 🎃when I recall , I use pictures that gives me hint of words. Hola! I'm a Catalan native speaker. I'm very happy to see you trying to learn my language. :) I must warn you though, the sentences you're using have some typos.
What is your mother tongue and how many languages do you currently speak? I speak Spanish, English and Italian and I'm currently studying french. I'd also like to learn German and japanese eventually
How do you start with vocabulary when you are on A1 level? When I want to try writing a text with italian or korean or german, then somehow I find myself on very difficult path when it comes to writing a text. I do not know any nouns, verbs or prepositions. How do you learn the basic before writing texts?
Salut Languagegirl!
I really love the video, thank you! I've found so useful, i mean, I've never tried to write small texts for remembering some words, I've always used only flash cards. So, after your video I did what you had advised and it helped me. And I only wanted to ask, you aren't learning Asia languages, are you? Are you going to learn some of them?
I tried using flashcards once, but it kinda never worked for me. I used try and make sentences with the words I learned, as I was learning German and it helped me a lot to get fluent.
@@AfroLinguo Well, you’re right. As for me, both ways are good. I can see the beneath of flash cards, because I can remember the word even without context (as we all do in our native language), especially when we talk about learning new language from the very beginning where you really have to remember some amount of basic words and be able to use them immediately, without thinking. For example I started to learn Korean recently so I am using ONLY flash cards for it, but with my English or Italian, where I’ve already achieved some level, I’ve found really useful to make sentences with words I’m learning - they are more interesting, harder and sometimes have much more meanings so I try to find context with them and make my own sentences to understand all details. But still, I personally think it depends on person, so any language learner just needs to find what is the most suitable for him.
How often should I revise and add new words? Maybe 14 words per day, then I create a text incorporating the words, and revising them in the next day? Is it a good idea? How are you doing this?

I was toying with the idea of making up 3- or 4-line paragraphs containing ten words that I want to learn from the 5,000 most frequent French words. Super! Finally found a channel where the learning technique is presented. Hi, LanguageGirl. I'm a bilingual from childhood and would like to begin learning from a different language group. Anything to tackle steps 0 and 1 in language learning would really help me, at least. Thanks for your content! Count me as a +1 for both views and subscribers.
My experience with languages from different language families is limited. I'd that what helped me learned German was to attend an introductory class to get all the grammar down and then, I started implementing my method. I know it's not what you what to hear, but I do think it's hard to teach oneself the basics, at least, it was for me

I sometimes use a method that's very effective, but after about 1 or 2 days using it I can't focus on it anymore and have to try a new one to be able to concentrate, or stop for a week to focus on it again
Thanks for your support btw. Love to see people who have been here all the way through! mmm.. Yes, so far I haven't spoken too much Catalan, so idk, but I definitely don't get them confused when I speak Italian. They are a little different although getting similar languages confused does happen. I just have to be careful with words I am not too sure of how to say
Isn't Catalan more similar to french than Italian? Just like Galician is kind of a mix between Spanish and Portuguese, Catalan is a mix between french and Spanish. While Basque is unique language.
Do we have to do this every day for every story that we wrote? for example, if you've written 2 paragraphs on day 1, but on day 200, you've written more than 1000 paragraphs, and you have to review that 1000 paragraphs in 1 day? Isn't that a bit too much?
You wont have to because the words from the day one paragraphs would have been retained way before 200 days, maybe within 5 days or less And if you have to review it, should take you a minute. Don’t move on to new words before solidifying the current ones
@@leewoo-jin Okay, but what if I don't use those words so often after 5 days? Would those words be forgotten or they would just pop out whenever needed?
Thanks! So for Romance languages I don’t really study grammar at all. I just figure it out, but it’s easy because the grammar is very similar to Spanish and English. For German, the grammar was super hard to learn, and I did need a teacher to teach me the basics
Great advanced routine but I don't have enough Spanish vocab yet :( I'll defenitly try 14 Spanish words a day from podcasts/music/youtube/books. Thanks though!

hmm... you could learn and recall a lot of words this way in a whole day. Is it ridiculous to think you could become conversational in a language in one day? haha (to a basic level obviously). I've been starting to believe this recently. With the right methods, what do you think? I may experiment.
haha well, sorta. I am of the believe that first you have to invest sometime in the language and then you can make that growth exponential with the story method. You should explore your idea and make a video. It would be great to see if it works!

@@leewoo-jin btw, sorry for the late reply, I couldn't access youtube for the last 2 months because of an important exam.
Really pretty girl. How do you learn a language from scratch? Do you learn grammar at the beginning?
Thanks! So for Romance languages I don’t really study grammar at all. I just figure it out, but it’s easy because the grammar is very similar to Spanish and English. For German, the grammar was super hard to learn, and I did need a teacher to teach me the basics
Woo-hoo - Notability! lol
I can almost read french but can't speak, can i start learning spanish right at this moment while learning french?
Of course!
@@youngchun3368 Thank you so much.
👌👌👌 beautiful
Great advanced routine but I don't have enough Spanish vocab yet :( I'll defenitly try 14 Spanish words a day from podcasts/music/youtube/books. Thanks though!
You should try learning Asian languages! Anyways love your content, m a language freak as well...all the best for your channel.

Love your methods and your content! Btw I'm curious about your native language wether is it English or not and if not, what language is?
My native language is Spanish 😁
@@KarenVanessaBuitrago really? Puedes poner subtitulos por favor 🤞
'Langorous'- Man, I'm pretty sure you know more English than I do and I'm a native speaker..!
Interesting
Thank you!

hmm... you could learn and recall a lot of words this way in a whole day.
@@KarenVanessaBuitrago True. Growth in language learning can be explosive from one day to the other, once you find what works for you.
This is an excellent review method! It's just what I needed; I hate flashcards, cos they're so mind-numbingly boring to make, and uninteresting to review. 自分を助けた! どうもありがとうございました。m(_ _)m
I have created a whole book with the new words
That's amazing!
Can you believe I learnt Georgian in a week to a conversational level???

People get words wrong?
It was clickbait
Sorry you think that
first
This is pure nonsense. Total click bait.
Catalan is not portuguese!!!
Click bait !!!
I challenge you to learn a difficult language like Japanese or Korean.
Japanese is my next language!
Korean is the beautiful language in the world to me.
@@KarenVanessaBuitrago Amazing.
@@KarenVanessaBuitrago Then Matt vs Japan(guy who does not stay in Japan but learned it at home and can trick native speakers that he's also native) should probably be your best resource for ridiculously efficient and quality japanese pronunciation and "immersive" style/method of learning it.
