  • Attention!!! The new Alaska Woodchuck website is alaskawoodchuck.org
This is an old video from the original Alaska Woodchuck UA-cam channel. Some information is a little outdated. But I like this video a lot because It’s important that we are able to express ourselves creatively and it’s also important that there is originality in our work. I wanted to share my Carving and creative process with you.
In this video we learn how to make a turnaround as well as some very basic drawing techniques for drawing a wood carving pattern.

If you have patterns you want to share who can upload them at the woodchucks forum on Facebook. Wood carving is a fun activity there anybody can do. I had somebody asked me wants what if I can’t see. There is a guy who turns balls that is blind who makes of the most beautiful artwork I’ve ever seen using only the feel of his fingers.
Make sure you subscribe to Alaska Woodchuck for more information regarding with Carving and the wood Carving Club here in Anchorage Alaska.
In the future more videos will include learning how to do things such as stroppping, sharpening, drawing techniques, wood carving techniques, and so much more regarding woodworking, and wood finishing.
For those it like to ask I use basswood specifically from Minnesota.
For more information go to Alaskawoodchuck.org

Thank you James, this video helped so much carving anything was always trial and error using stick figures. never thought about a tablet so going to ask Santa very nicely if he can see his way for one for Christmas. Fingers crossed I made the nice list this year.
