      @@montyjunior3 Hi Evan. I really don't know exactly what reels they are using but it's all #6 equipment. And, as you say, we need a lot of backing for these strong fish for sure. So any reel which can take over 100 meters backing and has a good drag system will do fine :) Cheers

    The beauty of your fishing spots. The respect you have for the fish. The music and your relaxed behavior. The dram of scotch with your good friend. These all make we feel like I am back in my fishing territory. Many thanks!!! I do have a question, perhaps because of my Canadian fishing culture: Normally my partner and I would carry a canoe in to the remote lakes we fish. Have you considered this? Perhaps it is too far? Again thanks, your videos keep my fisherman’s heart beating while I wait for trout season to open. Cheers!

    • @CarpeDiemFlyfishing
      @CarpeDiemFlyfishing  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Albert. Glad you enjoyed the video :) We actually prefer fishing from the shore. Don't know why. Of course you will be able to reach a lot more fish in a canoe but it's not that important. If the fish are far from the shore we normally take a break, have a coffee and a whisky, and wait for them to get closer. Part of the whole thing so to speak. Cheers

    Nice fishing, nice video guys.
    But you need to change something.
    On a take you strike to early. Don't strike the moment the fish takes, give them time to go under water again. Give them let's say 2 seconds.
    And with the fish you catch there you need a bigger landingnet 😃.

    The next best thing to actually getting out to catch some trout in person here in Nova Scotia is watching you guys catch them in Northern Sweden! Awesome videos, great fishing! I do have to ask though about the real flies, I assume a combination of mosquitoes, black flies and midges (?), they look like they are having a meal off you guys at times? Is it very cold there or are you hooded up to keep the little biters at bay? The dreaded black fly is just coming out in full force here after a cold spring.

    • @CarpeDiemFlyfishing
      @CarpeDiemFlyfishing  5 років тому

      Thanks Mike. Appreciate it :) Well you're right in your assumptions. They are mosquitoes and midges and they do bite from time to time. But actually the bites from them don't itch as much as the bites from mosquitoes down south. They seem to have less poison in them. It's cold up these for sure. Even if it's in the middle of summer it can get below zero during the night. So we have the jackets mainly for the temperature but also for keeping the mosquitoes out. Cheers

    • @capermike3611
      @capermike3611 5 років тому

      @@CarpeDiemFlyfishing It's the dreaded 'black fly' here that can keep you from wanting to go fishing in the spring. Those flies can literally leave you bloodied. Many a time, my family has been horrified by the state of my face and hands, every little bit of exposed flesh full of welts and blood. This is the famous 'black fly' song animated by the National Film Board of Canada: ua-cam.com/video/f389hIxZAOc/v-deo.html

      @Pablo Morando, the black pants are from Revolution Race, don’t know the exact model but you could probably find it on google by comparing their models. The brown ones look like Fjällräven’s.

    Härlig film. Släpper ni all fisk eller spar ni någon till mat? Hur många nätter tältade ni?

    • @CarpeDiemFlyfishing
      @CarpeDiemFlyfishing  6 років тому

      Tack ska du ha Neo. Vi tältade i ca en vecka. I den här typen av vatten tar vi inte upp en enda fisk. Det är väldigt lätt hänt att det påverkar beståndet annars eftersom det är ett slutet system utan naturlig tillförsel av fisk. Annars äter vi gärna en fisk då och då. Vi tar dock aldrig hem någon fisk. Ha de gott

      Har själv ganska nyligt fått upp ögonen för fjällfiske, testade en natt i tält på fjället i somras. Tältar ni hyfsat nära en väg så ni kan ta flera vänder till och från bilen eller släpar ni packning för en hel vecka?

    • @CarpeDiemFlyfishing
      @CarpeDiemFlyfishing  6 років тому

      Vi har all packning med oss. Långt från bilvägar :)

    Vilken härlig serie filmer! Skulle verkligen vilja uppleva naturen och fisket, det ser ju helt underbart ut. Och färgen på rödingarna är ju nästan elektrisk. Jag får nöja mig med att åka till Malaysia i mars och fiska Giant Snakehead så länge.

      Det ska bli härligt. Får se om jag som nybörjare på flugfiske lyckas ta någon fisk. Enligt Paul Arden som jag ska fiska med så är det det svåraste fiske han någonsin hållit på med under sina 30 år som flugfiskare. 1-2 sekunder har man på sig att placera flugan framför dem när de kommer upp för att ta luft...

    • @CarpeDiemFlyfishing

      Jag lär väl få ett och annat tips från honom. Det är han som övertalat mig att komma genom att fråga flera gånger om jag vill komma och fiska med honom efter att jag köpte ett Sexyloops Hot Torpedo spö. Det är en ära att få göra detta!
