One of our Chihuahuas tries to catch flies whenever they get close to him. He basically never succeeds but the one time he did he just looked really shocked and disgusted and spat out the fly again haha
I had a dog that would chase flies also but if he missed he'd run and hide under the bed like he thought the fly would come kick his ass or something 😂😂😂
I feel so proud and (like Kat said) accomplished each time my C versicolor successfully molts. I love it when he/she eats the worms or bugs I give him/her. And it's so cute she he/she attacks the water stream!
Kat, thank you so much for making me less scared of spiders. I now have two Jumping Spiders. I don't think I'm ready for bigger yet but you've still helped a lot ☺️
I don't know how I stumbled across your videos but I'm very glad I did. I was always really scared of spiders, even pictures would scare me. But now I feel I've learnt so much from your videos and now no longer scared of spiders at all! Hoping to get my first jumping spider soon. Thank you and congratulations on your 150k subscribers!
I just subscribed to your channel a day or so ago and I am petrified of spiders. Childhood trauma with a nest of jumping spiders.. it wasn't pretty. However I like watching you with yours. I don't think I could own them because I am flat out too scared of them but it's fun to watch.
Hi Kat. We have watched your videos for about a year now. ( me and my 8 year old son ) my son is ABSOLUTELY obsessed with spiders so I just last week got him a curly haired tarantula. Its ADORABLE!!! I've not let him handle it yet as its bigger than his hand and I feel he / she needs to settle in first 😁
I will never handle an arachnid of any kind but I do so love watching these gorgeous otherworldly critters munching on some worms! And it was cute that Bowser wanted a treet too :3
It's so weird that your sazimai made such an intricate burrow, while ours just never burrows and always sits on display. We even pre-made a burrow for her and she just ignores it 😛 Every spider is just different i guess 😊
I'd had jumping spiders for a bit when I came across a picture online of an adult Caribena Versicolor. It was that pic that inspired me to start researching them, then that led onto learning about other Tarantula genus & species. Now I have 32 tarantulas..i just love them. Enjoy your beautiful blue Versi 😊 xx
hey just wanted to mention i had a pup named tico and he went into heart failure later in his life, but after we started him on meds we got another 2 years with him and he lived until 14. im wishing the best for you and your pup
Kat...the superworm got away from the White Knee. I think it came out of its shell & it definitely went into the substrate under the water dish!!!! I had one get away from me today too, but luckily it came back up at some point & I saw it in my Ts mouth. The commenters on Arachnaboards said it is dangerous for a superworm to remain in the enclosure bc the puepae & beetle the superworm turns into can eat/kill a freshly molted tarantula & that the superworm should be removed from the enclosure. I just wanted to let you know what I saw. Great video 💙 💜 💙 💜
Are you kidding me thank you for all the work that you've done you've got me starter on the same path i haven't gotten a T yet but I've got a gecko and four green anole lizards
I think my C. versicolor looks roughly the same size as yours did when it was smaller. Mine just molted and the difference (especially in the vividness of it's electric blues) is amazing. I don't think it doubled in size...but its close! Pretty much the same story with my G. pluchripes. it already has the golden leg marks (or at least the first signs of it). And the one amazing thing about T's is that they molt their entire body all at once. why can't my beardies do that? lol.
I absolutely love the tortoiseshell glasses you're wearing on your outing.. They look so good on you. I just can't help it looking how tiny you are. I just want to take you home and feed you. You feed all of your tarantulas so well but I'm wondering if you feed yourself as well as you do them? And I'm not being rude, I'm a Jewish mother and it just comes naturally. You are just so adorable and fun to watch and I'm surprised you don't have 1.5 million viewers because you're just a really great person and you know what you're talking about and that's always entertaining to watch. I have learned so much about tarantulas watching your videos so thank you for what you do.
I’ve had my first sets of T’s all successfully go through their first molt this week. Kinda crazy that all 5 of them molted at around the same time but it’s sooo cool.
LOL I legit laughed the entire Bowser segment, especially him peaking through his enclosure at the mealworm. I don't know why but he reminds me so much of my American Bully.
Well!! I’m late to the party. This vid is 2yr old for me. Soo glad the algorithm Brough me your channel. I been binging a little everyday , I’m hooked, thanks Kat.
Kat! Thank you for doing this video!! I have 2 C Versicolor’s, 3 T Albopilosum’s and 3 P Sazimai that I’ve been raising from teeny tiny slings and I so agree with everything you’ve said about raising slings. I truly love mine and enjoy seeing all the color changes with each molt. My next slings I want are GBB’s. I have followed you for about a year now and you’ve been a huge huge help. Ohh. I also have 2 P Regalis jumping spider slings that I’m trying to raise that my old female left me just before she passed. Those are the ones I’m finding most difficult to raise. My T’s are doing awesome tho. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!! Ohhh and huge huge congrats one 150k!!! That is awesome!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Longtime lurker watcher here.. but i wanted to thank you.. you helped me overcome my fear of spiders and actually fall in love with them.. my family gets annoyed with me talking about spiders alot 🤣🤣. Keep doing what you're doing, you're getting your message across ❤❤
I have had Cavaliers for years they are prone to heart failure. It's such a scary thought but is not the death sentence it sounds like. Be strong Hun xxx
We are sad to hear about your dog. I am sure your going to give her as much love as possible. Thanks gor educating us on tarantulas and how they are not scary. I have always been fascinated by them and watching your videos helps keep my interest on them.
I don't comment much, but just wanted to let you know that your channel has helped me better appreciate spiders and now I really love them. Congrats on 150k! Looking forward to many more videos
You were brave as hell rehousing that OBT! I have a half inch C darlingi that makes me so nervous, and it came in a tiny phial with some moss so its near impossible to feed without totally taking off the lid. Its my first OW, I almost wish I would have waited to find a larger sling lol I'm stuffing cricket legs in the ventilation until its molted and ready for a bigger enclosure.
Found a jumper sling today. I have been keeping a male Otiosus for about a month. I work at a water plant and there are spiders absolutely EVERYWHERE. mostly orb weavers. But we have a ton of jumpers around too. I think mostly Bolds. This channel is why I have 2 spiders now. A year ago I was not about it lol....
I really enjoyed this video! I love before and after videos. I am growing two slings too. Its been 2 years and they did grow too. (GBB and Pulchra) It is very satisfying to see them grow and thrive I can agree. kisses from Switzerland ✨
Hi Kat! Your videos are amazing and have helped me conquer lifelong arachnophobia (to the degree where I’m making friends with random spiders on my porch). I’ve decided to take the plunge and adopt a beautiful, 13 month old A. calcodes. Would a large tarantula crib be overkill? I know it will grow to need that size anyway. Also which substrate do you recommend? Thanks so much for all the information you provide everyone here. You are truly remarkable.
Life has been hard like that for me too lately. I’m so sorry. My dog, Lucy, also 9 years old, and she catches flies and other bugs like that, it’s funny. Congratulations though that such an amazing UA-cam accomplishment. I love your T’s so much. They’re so beautiful.
Yay T. albo update! I figured they would have both done equally well in the Tarantula Cribs and Kritter Keeper enclosures, but it was good to see them again! Tarantulas Cribs are definitely my favorite enclosures when I can budget for them, but I keep the majority of my 2.5"+ juvenile and adult tarantulas in Lee's Herp Haven enclosures (which are just Kritter Keepers with snazzy green, brown, and black tops) since they're super affordable, look reasonably nice, and have fantastic ventilation. I like Medium size for juveniles and the XL for adults that don't get super huge. I know a lotta folks rag on Kritter Keepers, but in my experience they're pretty darn great budget friendly enclosures for species that aren't too moisture dependant =)
You have such a fun personality! I am terrified of spiders. Like, terrified. But I can’t stop watching your videos because your personality is awesome and I love the way you genuinely love and care about these creatures ❤
I’ve raised up a Chaco, red knee and a gbb from slings. It really is a rewarding experience. It was bittersweet to rehome the golden knee and bottle blue to a friend of mine.
I raised my Mexican Red Knee from a tiny sling and she is now a gorgeous adult. The other trantula that I own is a juvenile Brazilian Black girl and she is still young, as I didn't get her that long ago. Someday I want to add a female Desert Blonde. I handled dozens of wild ones as a kid. Not getting a sling, because I want a confirmed female. I absolutely adore trantulas and super enjoy your channel ❤.
I got my two T. albo slings from the same sac as well! And they’re both females😭 I’ve had them for two years and they’re about the size of yours now, they also both have very different temperaments and they’re both about to molt. Basically a major coincidence lol. Also love you Kat! I’ve learned so much from you and I love watching your channel grow💜
I absolutely love ur chanel. I am very new to owning spiders. I have 2 jumpers and just fell in love. So now I am picking up a pink toe sling today. I used to be terrified of spiders n now I'm just fascinated with them. So shout out to u Kat cause if it weren't for ur awesome videos I would not have ever thought about having pet spiders. 🕷
I think my new kitty is going to be a bug catcher. She was really into trying to get to the crickets when I was feeding yesterday. I have three slings I need to move to larger homes very soon which I'm excited about, but I also had some big losses (Cuddles, my Asian Forest Scorpion 😭😭😭) so hard times too
It's very sad to hear about your dog, if only they lasted longer, dogs shouldn't age so fast 🥺 but I'm very glad you got answers, & were able to make her comfortable & help her feel better. And it gives you more time with her 🙏
Hi Kat, I always watch your video's but I'm not a great commenter. It's wonderful how every animal is different because my T Albo Wilbur (actually a female) has reached sub adult size in about a year, she has mounted 5 times with me now. She was my first T and I joined the hobby because of you and your wonderful content, so thank you 😘
I'm so happy for you kat, out of all the youtubers I watch you and petko are by far the Best. I'm sorry im not a patrion but times are hard for a single dad. Thank you for the great content and I can't wait for what's to come in the future 👍
Could you do a video of just showing all your tanks off. I need some decor ideas. I also have a shiiit ton of crystals I want to put into some tanks but is it safe???
My Dog is also a Fly 🪰 Eater ! Lol he is really good at catching them too ! But they stress him out lol I’m not sure why . Maybe because they make a buzzing noise

Sky raisins! Our dog is excellent at catching them too... it’s just the spicy ones you gotta watch out for 🐝
Im wheezing at this whole thread 😭🤣
i have chihuahuas and they all do that😂
@@mikecheck7480 sky raisins! 🤣
I'm sooo relieved your pup is gonna be ok. Thank goodness ❤❤❤❤
It’s such a wonderful experience watching them grow. And it’s a great feeling because you know you’re doing it right.
I feel so proud and (like Kat said) accomplished each time my C versicolor successfully molts. I love it when he/she eats the worms or bugs I give him/her. And it's so cute she he/she attacks the water stream!
Colorwise, they are all pretty. It really is cool looking at how different species like the green bottle blue look like as a sling and an adult
Kat, thank you so much for making me less scared of spiders. I now have two Jumping Spiders. I don't think I'm ready for bigger yet but you've still helped a lot ☺️
Jumping spiders are the cutest spiders I never thought I’d think a spider cute but their faces are adorable 💙
@@kathyinwonderlandl.a.8934 they are the cutest. Their little personalities and, like you say, their faces are so adorable
A fly is challenging the spider kingdom, wtf? Congrats on yr growth !!
I like the idea for this vid. and enjoyed seeing the progression of sling to adult.
Congrats on the 150k!

Thanks for showing us the progression of your earlier tarantulas. It's amazing to see how they grow! ❤️
Good job Kat.Yeah it would be awsome to see more of yours grown ups 😃 Hope that Bowser caught that 🪰 . And all the best of health for Coco 🥰
