    Sorry, but this is not a comparison video: there's far more liquid in the Vitamix than the Magimix, as is apparent once the machine starts, you can see the liquid level moving. and there's virtually no liquid there. This video feels strangely like an ad for Vitamix. I object to watching what are obviously sponsored and biased videos. All that aside, with Vitamix as the world leader in this kind of kitchen machine, it's hardly surprising which would be the winner. Given the price difference, this whole video is an unfair comparison in more ways than one. A far better test would be between the Magimix vs. Kitchenaid K400. I've never seen two cars compared, where one costs twice as much as the other.

    I have used the Magimix blender for decades and agree that it starts slower on the smoothie program but you can change this by opting for a different program or by using the pulse button..
    However Magimix blender does start slower for reason which is that by starting slowly it does not splash up nearly so much. Also the Magimix uses a type of motor that adapts to the ingredients, so for example with ice or frozen fruit it starts very slowly indeed, increasing gently which makes quieter in operation.
    If you do want it to start at full speed immediately to get the blending done as fast as possible and if you want a finer smoother blend then simply press the pulse button and it will be done.
    By starting slowly the Magimix gives you the option to adapt the consistency to taste whereas those that start at full speed only result in one level of consistency.
    There are two models available of the Magimix blender, the 1200 watt which has 15000RPM and the 1300 watt which has 20000 RPM. Not everyone wants the finest maceration level for their blending so Magimix gives you these options.
    Optional extras for either model include the Mill attachment which is suitable for hard objects like Mace or nuts etc. that you might want to grind to pieces or to a powder
    So these are things worth considering before buying a blender
    ('m not paid by nor do I do not work for Magimix- this is just my experience)

      One can start a Vitamix at any speed one chooses. The pre-sets (which for my money are essentially useless) start at lower speeds and ramp up.

    It's so obvious that there are two different fillings in each blenders: in Vitamix there is milk or some kind of liquid on the bottom, and no apples, but some other fruit or veggies, maybe avocado. Whereas In Magimix there is no liquid.

      If you want to run a 2 HP motor with a glass jar, be my guest. It'll be very entertaining to see what happens if you accidentally leave a utensil in the jar, or if you're making soup and the container fractures due to the heat.

      @@HotVoodooWitchthe magimix power 5 is 1500W and has a glass jar . The glass is hardened Borosilicate special glass, designed to hold boiling liquid, it doesn't break that easily. And, WHY would you leave a utensil in your jar anyway? lol. What a strange 'what if...' comment.

    • @HotVoodooWitch
      @HotVoodooWitch 4 місяці тому

      @@alexanderthegreat7213why would you leave a utensil in a jar . . . . ? Because you're human and you get distracted, perhaps, i.e. one of the kids falls and hurts himself in the next room, the doorbell or phone rings, something is boiling over on the stove? The rationale is that you're not going to dirty the counter after having added something to the jar when you're interrupted. I did it once and never did it again. I laughed when I saw that Vitamix's commercial all-purpose blender is actually bundled with with extra gear sprockets and an Allen wrench because this kind of thing clearly happens in busy commercial kitchens.
      You're attempting to school the wrong person on the virtues of borosilicate glass. I'm old, so I not only remember when Pyrex WAS borosilicate glass, I actually still own some pieces (I believe European Pyrex is still borosilicate). I own Duralex bowls and Hario pitchers and bodum tea infusers. I used borosilicate glass beakers in chemistry labs in college. Guess what? They all break (Duralex chips), and they're not even being subjected to the pressure of 2 HP. In fact, one of my Hario pitchers broke while sitting on my kitchen counter after being taken out of the refrigerator. It hadn't been subjected to abrupt temperature changes (which it should have been able to handle anyway, given its resistance to thermal shock), nor had it been bumped. I reiterate: it was just sitting there. It pained me because it was a style that had been discontinued, so it couldn't be replaced (even on eBay or Etsy). Imagine if that had happened to a blender jar while it was running, even if the contents weren't hot.
      Sorry, you can't convince me. Fun fact: wattage ratings, which can be somewhat elastic, are how much power an appliance draws, not its output. A Vitamix draws 1380 W to power a 2 HP motor, making it more efficient than your Magimix. Enjoy your blender. I have a 5200XL, so I'm no stranger to Magimix. Its bowls, incidentally, are the same plastic used for aircraft windows.

    Vitamix hands down is the best blender. It's been the leader for years. But it's whatever your willing to save for. It's not cheap, but will last a lifetime if used as directed. Chop your ingredients to proper size to help the blender instead of pushing it to the limit, it will give decades of great service. I bought mine 10 yrs. It still works as it did the day I bought it. 100,000 restaurant's and food companies trust this blender more then any other blender. I believe the magimix is the best food processor.
