The End of Manual Transmissions?

Manual transmissions have been a stable of car culture since its inception. Unfortunately, in recent years, the dwindling demand for a manual transmission is spreading worldwide. Leading car manufacturers are turning their backs on the manual tranmission and replacing them with high-tech, complex torque converter automatics or Dual Clutch Transmissions (DCTs). As each year passes, it seems more and more high performance cars are being released with just one transmission option, an automatic. The end of an era may be upon us. The question is: will we have to say our goodbyes soon?
