  • Tucked in the rolling hills South of Manila is a culinary destination where food meets architecture meets art. Highly influenced by the surrounding Taal volcano, fire, which has carved the landscapes in the area, has also forged Asador Alfonso-a Spanish roast house of Architect Carlo Calma and Chef Chele Gonzalez.
Known as the Lava Rock, the rest of the property where Asador Alfonso stands also tells the story of the town shaped by volcanic activities. The structure blending seamlessly into nature forged a space where the public and private are in harmony, and where the family and the community can be together.
Don’t miss Anton Barretto and Jessica Kienle Maxwell’s journey as they uncover the story behind Asador Alfonso in this special episode of Metro Home Season.
