I loved Dawayne’s style, even though it was different than the previous lead guitarists. Dawayne stayed in “tune” during this song and he & Jason brought youth and vitality to the group 😀.
Bill seemed to take a liking to Dawayne. They'd play toe 2 toe at times, and you could see they were having fun. Bill was confident enough in himself and wasn't intimidated by Dawaynes exceptional guitar playing. He was the best lead Chicago had after Terry died.
Dwayne Bailey seldom sang lead vocal while with Chicago, which is interesting since he is a much better singer than is Bill Champlain, who was playing rhythm guitar on this song, rather than his usual keyboard.
Dawayne had the best outfits too! He put a lot of thought into his presentation. Even his t-shirts had style or an iconic character. I loved Terry's style too... total opposite ov everyone else: HOCKEY JERSEYS! What a trendsetter he was!
Dwayne gave a hell of a performance. Vocals too. Wow. I liked what Bill was doing on guitar. Very funky. It's my least favorite version of Chicago doing this tune...but it's very respectable none the less.
He's a very skilled guitarist, and can sing in tune. I dig what he's doing on guitar....but for me, it's just out of context. I'm surprised Bill Champlin wasn't on a mic here.
@@tomjones2348 This was the only solo they ever "let" Dawayne sing in his EIGHT years with Chicago, and it wasnt even an entire song. And you think they shoulda gave it to Bill instead? Dawayne sang it kick ass! He shoulda had more opportunities. Does sound like some jealously going on.
Turn up the volume, to feel your heart beat, with the best band of all time! Get ready for a PHENOMENAL performance! WOW! CHICAGO
This group is tooooo much - THIS BAND HITS IT HARD ON EVERY LEVEL -------- VOCALS, INSTRUMENTATION, I AM BOWLED OVER!!!!!
Dwayne Bailey was so good!! They weren't ready for him!!
I'd have to agree with you there.

Nice mullet, Jimmy. 😆
That's why they kicked Bailey out... He stole the show.

Was Jason Scheff the youngest member of the band? I know that Dawayne Bailey was born in '55.
Yes, Scheff was born in '62. He was 23 when he joined the band.
Is it just me or does Dwayne Bailey sound like a Guns n Roses singer for some reason at 3:39?
Agreed sounds like axl rose 😅
