This is not a cover band. This is one of the best bands on earth playing music originally performed by Chicago and other bands forty years ago. Wow, the talent and perfection are just stunning.

@@richardbogartburke4978 Yes Chicago covered Spencer Davis, and added horns, additional percussion & nearly tripled the length of the song. Since Spencer Davis didn't have a horn section, this is a cover of the harder to play Chicago version.
I'm not sure this cover or Chicago's cover has horns in it. I could be wrong, but I don't think I hear any horns.

The drummer, Igor, puts on about a 5-minute solo act during the show. It's fantastic.
Seen them 2X and hoping to again this year.
Igor is friendly. Mostly spoke to him through an interpreter (Leonid's son).
And he seems so nonchalant about it.

It took a group from Russia in the 21st century to get us all to re-appreciate the music from Chicago and the late 1960 -early 1970s bands. Looking back now, we didn't understand just how good we had it musically back then. Bravo, everyone

I saw Chicago Transit Authority live in 69. They were second warmup group. First was Hot Tuna. The headliner was Jimi Hendrix. You should have heard that double high long installation of sound cabinets. Boy, did CTA ever cover across great.

I found this band a couple of years ago. These guys just blow your mind with Spot On Technique. I’m a guitar player and you guys are about as good as it gets. There’s just one thing,,, I can’t take my eyes off the drummer. He just Glides. He gives those drums a Proper Spanking every time his hands pick up those sticks. The talent level of these musicians is off the charts. Thank You! I can’t stop listening!

The drummer kinda reminds me of Neil Pert. Chicago was a great band and I love the respect these guys give them. Remember them and how many people it takes to replicate their music. Eight musicians on stage doing the work of twice that number. This is one of the best cover bands of all time.

My dad was a professional drummer and jaw dropping talented so I guess the appreciation of hearing a good drummer is in me . I was just saying to friends before i even saw this video how this drummer means business and now i just saw and heard this track! Its all in the wrist and the core! Tight and precise. Alot of drummers sound like they’re hammering into something hollow in a basement. Always smiling after leonid and friends 😊

As a 63yo trombone player; a huge fan of James Pankow (trombone) and the band Chicago, I must say this is absolutely the best cover I have EVER heard of Chicago! The vocals and solos are dead ringers and the visual presentation by each of the artists is great. Well done!

Notice that the guy playing rhythm guitar is using an Orange amplifier. I remember these from my days as a bench technician at Mother’s Music in Waterloo (Ontario, Canada). All the transformers (audio input, audio output and power) were toroidal were as everyone else employed square transformers which are easier to manufacture. Orange amps also used oversized resistors to eliminate any noise caused by resistive heating.

I hear you, and you could also say that Chicago was that good in their heyday. For Sergey to play a Terry Kath lead guitar part so stunningly well says so much about his skill/expertise/mastery! You probably have heard that Jimi Hendricks was as much in awe of Terry Kath as Terry was of him. Chicago got their start by being the opening act for Hendricks.

To call these musicians fantastic, extraordinary, talented, and or wonderful is literally a vast understatement. Their sound defies words. I had never heard of them before today. I saw that they would be playing near my home in November 2023 and I checked out some videos. If they are only half as good as their videos while playing live, I will be more than thrilled though I doubt that will be the case. I am literally going out right now to buy tickets for this show and will count the minutes until showtime. Music is a huge part of my life as a (hack) musician and avid concert attendee. I could not be more excited to see this group!!!!!!!!

Brilliant musicianship. I had hoped for a little more EWF but everything they played was spectacularly executed. I expected the female and male vocalists to be featured more in the live show but the real standout was the young, thin, bearded guitarist who pulled off a high range really necessary to emulate some of the Chicago songs. I kind of felt like the last to learn about these guys as the show was sold out at Belly Up in Solana Beach, CA. Attendees were lining up well over an hour before the doors opened and hapily waited to be among the first in to acquire whatever spot they wanted. The crowd loved them and the band carefully expressed wishes for peace and unity through music. What can I say other than to recommend them highly.

Serge's voice does something for this song that just puts it on another level. The other thing that I can't describe is the trumpet late in the song. It just pierces through and curls the song around my brain in such a wonderful fashion. Let's hear it for the trumpet player!

I am very impressed with this ensemble of musicians. They are impeccable in their reproduction of many classics I grew up with. I hope they carry on this genre of music for decades to come so the music lives on. Bands like TOP and Chicago are hitting the upper limits of mortality and their music was very inspiring to many.

I’ve always loved the album version of this song so from time to time I put the search term into UA-cam. I was happy and a little surprised to see a band that did it, so I clicked on it. Then… magic happened. I was shocked, absolutely shocked. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and hearing. Leonid and friends absolutely nailed it. A cover of I’m a Man, Make Me Smile, and 25 or 6 to 4 had to be done, and something was missing win the universe when it was not. Now, that cover is done, and done absolutely brilliantly. It is amazing, magnificent, perfect, and joyful. Thank you so much for demonstrating what joy music can bring. I am in your debt. You are all awesome. Thank you.

I'm sad this lineup of Leonid & Friends is no longer together. The lead singer and lead guitarist were the big reason Leonid & Friends Chicago songs were so perfect!!!!

Every musician in this video is abso-freakin-lutely amazing and flawless, but hats off to Vladimir Popov on cowbell and Alexandr Michurin on block for maintaining a steady, rhythmic, synchronized, computer-precise, and rocking beat for nearly SEVEN STRAIGHT MINUTES without a break!! You guys are now legends! Did you have to ice down your hands and arms after recording this?
Biff Sockpow Exactly! Much more difficult to remain in time for the duration of this long song. Kind of bummed Alexandr and Alexey ( short guy on trumpet) aren’t in the band anymore. Wonder what happened? I liked those guys!
I JUST pointed this out (I'm a long time mix-engineer) to my "less musically educated "friends, and they actually dropped their jaws since they, of course, didn't notice...."don't they get tired?"...."Well, if you do, you didn't practice enough before recording.....but usually a little towards the end, but then you have to "suck it up", "be a man" and play it through to the end...." :)

Igor is supposed to be one of the top 5 drummers in Russia. And Sergei the guitar player does Kath as good as anyone I've seen. Best Chicago music since the original group did it 50 years ago!

I have been listening to these guys for about 5 yrs, My 10yr olds favorite band. My boy(then 7) and I saw them in Clearwater FL a few yrs ago. Still to this day blown away by the talent. God Bless You Guys I listen to you everyday!!

Music has changed a lot in the past 50 years. There's a whole newer breed of musicians who play "perfectly." That's not what is was about in the 60s and 70s. It was about the feel. These guys play "perfectly" and it's very enjoyable, but the originals have more feel.

I was a fan of the first 4 Chicago Albums and practiced to these songs. I was terrible - but I live to play.
I saw Chicago in concert twice.

This was written by Steve Winwood at 16 years of age, he sang it with The Spencer Davis Group in 1966, good sound for that era. Chicago sang it in the 70's. This group of musicians are really on top of it, great job here!!

Never realized that Steve Winwood wrote this & performed it first with Spencer Davis Group. Always thought that Chicago was original. Now I’ve heard a cover band that blows this song out of the water. They are fantastic.

I care lil for tribute bands, but the instrumental talent across the board here is remarkable. Usually the concentration involved to be so precise steals from being in the moment, but not here. Love these guys each & every one perfectly in sync.
When watching their energy on stage it's as if they wrote it. They are one with the music they're creating. They draw you in by showing that they are there to entertain and have fun doing so.
